13th May 2020 at 8:40 am #112181All good here Sean. Hope you’re well too. I had the antibodies test last week and seemingly have already had the virus which is good news. I suspected I may have had it a few weeks ago but couldn’t be sure.

Thanks very much. Hope you and the family are keeping well aswell mate
Sweden didn’t have a lockdown did it and I think the numbers are similisr to Ireland which has had some kind of restrictions for ten weeks
How do people find it over there?

13th May 2020 at 7:37 pm #112249Sean, if it’s the time I think then I had a high fever for a couple of days and then just a niggly cough but was fine after a couple of days.
Sweden hasn’t had a full lock down but it’s still been far from life as normal. I’ve not set foot in the office for 2 months but the kids are still at school and bars, restaurants etc are still open albeit with attempts being made to social distance as much as possible

17th May 2020 at 7:47 am #113320This week did fly by for sure. Snuck into the office on Wednesday (the usual need for printers/scanners) but other than that it’s been the same routine. Wake-up, work, walk… bed.
Supposed to go into Helsinki today, the boss needs to visit her office. Day out I suppose…
Really can’t wait for this to be over.

23rd May 2020 at 8:42 am #113404Week Fook Knows:
I know things could be a hell of a lot worse (I suspect from a professional perspective, things will get a lot worse… around September by the looks of things… Finnish Employment Law is a strange beast… I might have it wrong, but a company needs to prove it’s losing money on a consistent basis before it can “fire” people… i.e. 6 months of loses first, not just a “bad” month… for contracted people like myself) but I am starting to get a bit wound up with it all. Day after day after day sitting at home, apart from a anti-social walk in the evening, is wearing me down mentally…

23rd May 2020 at 10:54 am #113407Stay strong Chuky, the one thing that will get us through this is determination to get through it, no matter what. If it is going to get me, it will have auto fight me…it will….but I will still beat it I do not know anything about Finish Law but I think what you have described is reasonable or it could be easily open to widespread abuse. Contracted personnel will be different and very much dependent on the contract agreed and how the new scenario maybe affect it. Hope you are OK on all counts Chuky. I set myself targets walking each day now, something to focus on, I am not trying for any records but just to set myself benchmarks…..I am still underachieving!!!!!!

23rd May 2020 at 11:01 am #113408Pagan…I do not know about you and others but I have found time has passed surprisingly quick. (at my age, not sure that is a good thing!!!!!!) Rarely been out of the house and garden, watched less TV but have done more reading, played keyboards a lot, plus working out the complex OS on each board and having a good chat with friends on computer I will be pleased when it is over, we miss our trips to the places we normally go to. Have not filled my car for two months now but its service is overdue, waiting for Garage to open All metic then…not doing much!!!!!

23rd May 2020 at 11:18 am #113409Hey Double B, keeping me chins up is about all we can do, been doing so much walking lately (we have a lot if those cross-country ski paths near which are nice to hike on too!) my legs are actually hurting which is probably a good indication of how unfit I was to start with!
Like many, I’m certainly not dumb enough to think it’s only me, it’s just the sheer repetition of all it. And I do not like working from home now, the novelty has worn off (although I suspect I won’t be having that problem in about 4 months!).
I think the last week got really bad as the weather, or summer has finally shown up. About 18 today by all accounts and a clear blue sky… might have to have a BBQ in the garden later…

24th May 2020 at 11:02 am #113426I had a bit more of a difficult week last week and I lost my Footydebate mojo, integral to that was the funeral on Wednesday of my wife’s much loved cousin lost to Cov19 super guy, a good footballer who played at a decent level enjoyed his Golf but like me was a frustrated Golfer but the life and soul of any get together or party.
We couldn’t attend the funeral in person because of the restrictions but did so virtually but it was just as upsetting and I hate to see my Mrs so upset.
On the plus side I read today that scientists have discovered that the drugs I’m on to try and control my illness makes men on them up to 4 times less likely to get Cov19 than other men.
Every cloud eh! 🙂
Hopefully my Footydebste mojo returns next week and I get back to posting again a bit more regularly.
Take care all. Stay safe. God Bless. 9’s

24th May 2020 at 2:02 pm #113432AnonymousSympathies 999, and everyone on here who has lost friends and relatives. This has been on my playlist recently. No harm meant by posting it here if anyone takes offence.
May you go marching in three measure time
Dressed up as asses, drunk to the nines
Swing from the rafters
Shouting those songs
Gone unsung for far too longDrink to the dead all you still alive
We shall join them in good time
Should you go crossin’ that silvery brook
It’s best to leap before you look_____________________________

27th May 2020 at 8:57 am #113487Nine…..hope you are now well, we need you back posting to keep us all in check although in my opinion this forum has increased its quality level significantly in last year Posters more tolerant and subjective, we all have views and all now release there is nothing more important than life itself

27th May 2020 at 10:05 am #113488Brian, thank you for your kind good wishes I’m fine and enjoying the sunshine in the garden everyday although it’s costing me a fortune on new books for my Kindle. 🙂
I’m just taking a little break but I do read what’s going on from time to time and I’m sure I will get back to posting regularly soon perhaps when there’s a bit more clarity re Project Restart and the start of the new season for us all to talk about I think we’ve probably done the should we or shouldn’t we restart the season now.
I was very sad to read about your son in law and the loss of your friends. Keep your chin up, stay strong my friend and keep safe. God Bless 9’s
