FFS Sterling just stick the ball on the net. He’s been great for City but he is rubbish for England. Get Rashford on. We can’t afford to lose this now after wasting that one on one.

Half time came at the right moment for Sweden though. Another 5mins and we’d have got a second there. They’ll come out a different team. I just hope we don’t rue those missed Sterling chances

Sweden will not change their approach. They’ll continue to stand back and wait for England to make a mistake. That’s their gameplan. They never create anything or take the initiative. If England can avoid stupid mistakes the game is basically won. No way Sweden will pile on the pressure. If Sweden gets a goal it’ll be because of an indidual error by an English player.

They’ll not change their approach SRD but this is the same side who knocked Holland out of the qualifying group, Italy out of the playoffs, topped German’s group and put 3 past Mexico. They’re very capable of getting back into this. Hope you’re right though.

Ed, Sweden are not crap. They are just mindnumbingly boring. And I guess you need to be Swedish to like this side. Just as noone besides us Danes miss us. We’ve boring as well.
Holland and Italy are pale reflections of what they once were. Sweden were bad against South Korea, the Germans outplayed them. Granted they won deservedly against Mexico, but against Switzerland they were back to their old, boring selves.
