Brian: mate this diving shit has really made me lose my passion for the game. It is a bloody disgrace & embarrassment to football players. The problem is it is getting worse, it’s every f’in game. The commentators are defending it a lot of the time by saying things like “ he’s using his experience” & “it’s game management”. Bullshit, it’s pathetic & it’s cheating. I’m trying to get some mates into the football who are into rugby league & boxing & they just laugh at me. I have only watched highlights of the W/C because the 1st round was just a dive-a-thon & I couldn’t watch a full game. Neymar is as bad if not worse than Ronaldo used to be, he’s an absolute joke & a disgrace.
As I said I’m fast losing interest in football & they need to do something about this diving bullshit, it really is destroying the game IMO._____________________________

given i am now an admirer of the dark arts and see it as a skill i will fight neymar’s corner.
4th july 2014 – brazil v colombia – world cup quarter final
going in to this game, neymar, the poster boy of the world cup, had spent several games being kicked around the pitch and seeing no action taken against the opposition. throughout the quarter final game vs colombia he was kicked, tripped, punched, possibly even stabbed (i dont have proof of this) and the referee did nothing. because the referee did nothing the colombia players kept going until Juan Zuniga decided to knee neymar in his lower back resulting in his back being broken. HE BROKE HIS FUCKING BACK PLAYING FOOTBALL!!! the ref did nothing. neymar got carried off and zuniga did not even get a yellow card.
neymars antics yesterday were of course over the top, there is no denying that. however neymar knew the player deserved at least yellow card and the over reaction meant VAR was looked at and despite it clearly showing he was intentionally stamped on (dont care how much force was involved) the ref did nothing. yes his theatrics are frustrating but i understand why he does it. he gets no protection from the officials so decides to take the law in to his own hands.

Poor game, Columbia aren’t great. Need to get Lingard and Alli more in the game. Hardly been involved. Unlike Sean I think Sterling has nearly been at the heart of all the England attacks with good movement. Club bias Sean ? Certainly need more width 2nd half.

Have to agree to dissagree then Sean. Do you think Alli and Lingard had better halves than Sterling? That’s a serious question. Columbia are there for the taking. Whether we are capable of upping our game and getting to the quarters is up to us. On this showing we won’t go much further. But hey ho.
