Does that display by Rashford end the Sterling Rashford debate? Lol. Probably not tbh. RLCs first touch in that game was so bad his second was a tackle! Lets be honest its fair to say Southgate wanted to lose that game hence the best players were all on the bench.

I don’t disagree Adlab. Sterling is much further on in his development than Rashford is and is a starter for City. Sterling has had a much better season. But Rashford playing poorly doesn’t take away from the fact that Sterling has been terrible for England for a long time. Rashford had an awful miss tonight but was MOTM in his last England game and scored a lovely goal. When was Sterling last the best player on the pitch for England?

The biggest problem with the Rashford vs Stering debate is simply there is no 3rd option… Kane, yes, Dele, yes, Lingard (as much as I don’t like him), yes, but after that… bloody hell the cupboard is bare…

Oh come on Sean. That is comlete bollox, Keane is dull as dirt as pundit. But I do object to the likes of him and Giggs commentating on England games. Giggs hates England all Welsh do, same as the jocks. My bet is the majority of Irish football fans would like us to lose, but perhaps you know better? It’s nowt to do with club rivalry I have no issue with Neville, Wright and Dixon commentating on England games. No club bias here Sean but plenty of country bias ! It’s the world cup. What do you expect. Lol

Still Sterling to start for me, over Rashford but I’d certainly like to see Rashford given a run of games after the World Cup to see what he can do, rather than coming in for a game here or there.
Fair points on Dier Paxton. Rose was ok tonight I thought. Also thought RLC came into the game more in the second half.
Nothing game really. Can’t take anything from that when we rested so many players. Only difference between the sides was that nice goal from Januzaj. We certainly weren’t outplayed.

Obviously some people see plus points in players that others simply don’t Paxton. Dier simply didn’t do it for me tonight. Conversely I thought Henderson played well the last two games and I have never rated him. Rose was ok at times tonight. But as the Ed said it was a nothing game really. A strange one.

I think sterling has been excellent for club. I think a little more patience is needed for him to develop at international level. Good player still finding his feet in southgates system. Just needs to simplify his game a little more and develop the understanding he has with his club teammates with his international ones.
A bit dissapointing not to get a result but a lot of changes and Southgate has pretty much go the right starting 11 imo.
Youβve got to say each game is now probably winnable bar an injury to Kane.
What happened to stones? I do like macguires ability to bring the ball out from defence on the left back three.
England developing strength in depth. Iβve enjoyed watching us so far.
