Too true GJ, plenty of indications that an outsider could go on and win it this year! What’s impressed me is so many of the lesser teams have been well organised defensively and made the most of their ability. Like Morroco tonight.

Yeah Jim, even Iran showed plenty tonight, not just defensively but also when they eventually decided to get forward.
Regarding the more fancied teams, none have really impressed. I would say though that France look the most solid – good defence, very strong midfield and numerous options up front._____________________________

Have to agree again on France. My tip was Spain or possibly Brasil but both look disjointed and way too open at the back so far.

Interesting comments about tipping some winners here… haven’t watched every single game, but I thought Spain so far have put in the best performance against half decent opposition (vs Portugal), not too sure how people could fancy France (the one game I saw them play I thought they looked very average). Agree that Brazil have nothing at the back.
But having said that, I picked Germany before a ball was kicked (prediction league’s rules!) so what do I know… 🙂

We cannot deny it for thrills its been a tremendous world cup. The negatives the diving and last few minutes goals for the higher ranked undeserving sides, The top nations have been very lucky so far.

I really don’t like playing France today. If we lose, it’ll be just typical if the Aussies also beat Peru and take second place. I’d be surprised if we go through, to be honest. Got a feeling France will beat us 2-0 without getting out of second gear. We struggle to create chances and to take control of games. And we’ve given away penalties in both of our first two games.
As for the overall winner I still got Germany. They might have lost to Mexico, but they were good against Sweden. Spain my second favourite to win it.

Yep! Happy to be through to the knockout stages. But we’ve been all about defending so far. We had 25 minutes of dominatation against the Aussies. That’s it. We’ve shown nothing going forward so far basically. If the neutrals are bored watching us and want us out on that account I can definitly understand it. I really hope we give it a go against Croatia, who probably win their group. Better to burn out than fade away and all that.
