With all due respect United are a much bigger Club with a much greater record of success than Spurs or any other PL for that matter and Pochetinno would have a much bigger transfer budget at a much higher profile Club.
If I was on the United Board I would be pushing for a Pochettino approach which I think would be appealing to the majority of United fans and then it would be down to Pochettino to decide who may well be chased by Real Madrid in the Summer too.

17th December 2018 at 6:06 pm #29589You have to admire and respect a club that is simply going to throw money around to solve a problem of their own making, living on past glories to fluff up those Norffern Ego’s… they may be the biggest thing since sliced bread but they’re just a bunch of Chequebook Charlies in my house.
I know everybody would love it if Poncho buggered off and took the Yankee dollar, put us little upstarts in our place, wouldn’t it? Perhaps if you put enough zero’s on it, he could bring Kane and Ali and Toby and Son and Winks and everybody else…
Wouldn’t it be easier for all those Essex boys to simply support their local club? We’ve nearly got a bigger stadium, we can fit you in… ๐

17th December 2018 at 6:27 pm #29581AnonymousWhy would Poch leave Spurs for a club who are now in limbo. They can’t attract big name players (look at how many players rejected Man Utd over the last 5 years), Spurs are moving to a new stadium, and if Utd are interested in him, Poch can use that to ensure Levy gives him money to spend. Spurs aren’t a million miles away from City or Liverpool unlike Man Utd.
Utd should go all out for Ancelotti.

17th December 2018 at 6:31 pm #29592Poch ditched Southampton when Spurs waved a chequebook at him so I don’t see why he couldn’t again. Personally hope we avoid him though. I just don’t think he has the pedigree required and for me, too often his side falters in the big moments. Not to mention his disregard for cup competitions. No thanks from me!

17th December 2018 at 6:34 pm #29593Not only do his sides often fall at the last hurdle but those big games are suddenly every single week at Utd.

17th December 2018 at 6:36 pm #29594What must be so depressing for the rest of the league is that even though Man Utd are in a crisis and have had their worst start to the league in decades – they are still in the top 6 and are still therefore the best of the rest!

17th December 2018 at 6:38 pm #2959527-Liverpool have 5 CL/EC,so much bigger than United!
Kylie-Some of us YooUnited fans dont want that, namely all the $$$$$$ in the world to be thrown @ trying to fix the problem, even going a few years without challenging. Some of us were against the signings of the likes of Matic,Mata,Bastian,Ibra,Sanchez.Instead, the club should focus on long-term,give young a chance, invest in a medium to long-term gains, and forget the short-term fixes.A complete clear-out starting with January, then to be completed in the summer.

17th December 2018 at 6:46 pm #29600Mav, you have to count more than CL/EC’s mate United are the biggest team in England and alongside Madrid and Barca one of the 3 biggest in Europe.

17th December 2018 at 6:58 pm #29604Nine, I think the Utd job has probably replaced the England job as the toughest job in the country and one few would want, despite the obvious large transfer budget. So many serial winners, both players and managers, have come to Utd since Ferguson left and faltered. Mourinho, LVG, Matic, Zlatan, Sanchez, Pogba. It’s going to take someone with big balls to take this job on now and few have that IMO. I’d almost be tempted to write the season off and let someone like Carrick take over ala Di Matteo at Chelsea until the summer where we can take stock and see who might be tempted.

17th December 2018 at 7:15 pm #29605Harry Redknapp is available, he’d get you about 200 players for half billion quid… at least three of them might be good, right?

18th December 2018 at 12:00 am #29612Ed, I kind of dismissed Carrick as an interim but if he could deliver the FA Cup and the Champions League as Di Matteo did it would make sense.?

24th April 2019 at 10:38 am #38676So โtongue in cheekโ dramatic โdo a Leedsโ statement aside.
The reality check I requested, this time last year, with Mourinho and established Utd fans/editors boasting about 2nd in the league and 2 trophies…. How far off was I in hindsight?!! Compared to the replies from the โknowledgable.โWage structure out of control and attempt to spend their way out for short term โglory hunters.โ No quotable spine of a team (look back at the answers given after repeated requests and how accurate they are less than a year on!)
Best players wanting out…. Mourinho orchestrating his own divorce settlement….Who was talking nonsense now??
Allegence like love, can make you blind! For me United greatest slice of luck is that Chelsea and Arsenal are so unsettled. what they do with this opportunity, starting with tonightโs game, will be good theatre for all fans of the beautiful game…
