Hi Editor, Alfie…
Despite Man u’s “leveraged” financial imperialism…
How’s your confidence in it’s future success?
Same questions… Who’s the spine of this team (DeGea player of the season, most seasons.. coincidentally asking for £400k a week.. Ha I must be a visionary…Lingard therefore must be £300k a week surely??
And the players queuing up to join a team that might scrape a UEFA slot
Will be second tier but asking “ Messi” wages…Response now gents?!
Please please keep the Grinch as your manager and continue to spread your football wisdom…
Merry Christmas footy fans ! ?

17th December 2018 at 7:17 am #29519Morning Mick. As I said earlier in this thread, it will definitely all end in tears and it’s looking like that will happen sooner rather than later. Sadly, I don’t think there is a manager out there that could do much better with this lot. Certainly won’t be Rafa as I think you suggested!
Merry Christmas to you too!

17th December 2018 at 8:15 am #29523AnonymousDon’t always agree with Neville but his right to ask why did the United board extend Mourinhos contract when we all know he implodes in his 3rd year.

17th December 2018 at 10:18 am #29529Don’t quite get this thread and it’s regular popping up on here I’ve not seen a United poster on here who doesn’t admit they’re in a mess and accept the reality of where they are but they will never be a Leeds United they are far to financially strong for that.
Mourinho tenure at United is now not a question if it will end but when it will end but whoever takes over faces a massive task that has defeated three Managers before them and hopefully the United Board are smart enough to know that there’s no quick fix to catch City and Liverpool no matter who they appoint to replace Mourinho it will take time and some good fortune in the transfer market but football is cyclical and ultimately a Club like United will come again.

17th December 2018 at 10:19 am #29530Wrongo! Rafa would DEFINITLY get results out of the present UTD squad. Left to make signing of his own choosing, would do far better than last 3 Man U managers!

17th December 2018 at 10:24 am #29532Mick, I reckon there’s more chance of you being elected President of the United States of America than there is United appointing Rafa as Manager. 🙂

17th December 2018 at 10:32 am #29535Rafa at Utd?! You lose all credibility with comments like that Mick. ?
At Chelsea, Real and Inter, 3 clubs both have managed, there is no comparison in terms of what they each achieved. Mourinho has a far better record at every one of them. Why would it be any different in the 4th club Rafa follows Jose?
Nine, I don’t really get it either. We’ve all said it would probably end in tears so I don’t really understand the “I told you so” theme.

17th December 2018 at 10:52 am #29539Ed, also as I remember reactions from United fans were very mixed at the time of Mouriniho’s apppointment too. This was Mouriniho’s biggest challenge imo a challenge that has defeated two Managers before him one a Champions League winning Manager not absolving Jose of his errors or how he’s behaved but even Pep would have struggled in the role imo.

17th December 2018 at 11:01 am #29540AnonymousHe is clearly trying to save face after some of the ridiculous claims he started off with proving to be so wide of the mark. Not worth dignifying his nonsense with a response imo.

17th December 2018 at 11:36 am #29547I think United should break the Bank for Pochettino give him a 5 year contract back him strongly in the transfer market and see where that takes them.

17th December 2018 at 11:43 am #295505 year contract?? If the board should have learned anything over the last few years, it’s surely to stop throwing out big lengthy contracts to people expecting them to be the messiah.

17th December 2018 at 1:28 pm #29557Mikus, I get what you’re saying but I reckon the task at United is probably a 5 year job to get them back challenging for the title and it will probably cost United circa £30m to get Pochettino out of Spurs so on this occasion I think it would make sense to give Pochettino a 5 year contract especially with Real sniffing around too. Anyway doesn’t Klopp have a 6 year contract?

17th December 2018 at 1:34 pm #2955927-Poch has his heart set on Real Madrid,it seems?! United has to plan medium-to-long-term,a young manager, ambitious has to come in,conduct a complete clear-out of the dead wood, and forget the immediate future in terms of winning trophies.A complete write-off of this season has to start in January,Jose has to go,players have to go.i.e. Pogba,Sanchez, etc.

17th December 2018 at 1:46 pm #29561Klopp was offered an initial 3 year contract which was later extended. I think that’s a much more sensible length. I hear what you’re saying but I think sometimes that a very long contract can actually do more harm than good and that players or managers can take their foot off the gas somewhat and feel too comfortable. I think that’s one reason that didn’t help Moyes – I think it removed any urgency from the job he was set to do…and it gave him time he thought he had but didn’t and thus put him on the wrong footing.

17th December 2018 at 2:00 pm #29566Mikus, true enough re Klopp he was an unknown quantity re the PL when Liverpool appointed him but Pochettino isn’t.
The job was far too big for Moyes and SAF was to blame for that appointment. It would be a big job for Pochettino too but if I was a United fan I would be delighted to get Pochettino out of Spurs and on a 5 year contract at United.
All very interesting I think United want to wait until the Summer but at that point I think Mourinho is most probably gone and then who knows?

17th December 2018 at 2:07 pm #29574It’s the upstairs bit that Man Utd also need to get right though – the two go hand in hand. They still haven’t recovered from losing both Fergie and Gill all those years ago. No point offering long contracts if they still ain’t got that part right.

17th December 2018 at 2:22 pm #29576Agree with that Mikus as I suspect most United fans will too.
