Good goal for Chelsea shocking defending from the right back.

26th October 2019 at 5:55 pm #51032Ive looked at our second again. Sterling must have been in the keepers eyeline as it was about an inch away from him. No goal for me.
Lucky there Chelsea! Bar,

26th October 2019 at 6:17 pm #51033Just heard the commentary on the second goal off the radio on my way home. Mentalβ½οΈβ½οΈβ½οΈ???
Pulisic seems really good. Chelsea just need to obviously be careful at the back

26th October 2019 at 6:21 pm #51034AnonymousVAR rightly gets a kicking Nine. It’s a disaster so far and by saying “it gets offsides correct” or the like, is a very political statement. Offsides are technically correct now. The rules they’ve brought in with VAR though and it’s implementation with regards to situations where it should have over-ruled the ref, or with penalties etc, it’s a total smegging disaster.

26th October 2019 at 6:25 pm #51036Pulisic had two goals. and boy! how much he needed that to get the monkey off his back. the rest of our attack are non existent. Zouma is doing a fine job until now marshalling the defence.

26th October 2019 at 6:25 pm #51037Hightown, wouldn’t disagree with any of that mate but the connection between decisions that the Ref get wrong and that VAR gets wrong is human error. And whatever technology you employ it’s difficult to eliminate that.

26th October 2019 at 6:26 pm #51038Anonymous” I thought the only problem we would see was the length of time to get to a decision”
Same. I mean, besides the fact that VAR won’t get every single decision right. Nobody expects perfection but it’s such a pathetic mess. I don’t think anyone would suggest it miss easy and we all expect teething problems but what we’ve seen is a total failure in implementation. It’s almost like the lads felt threatened by it’;s arrival and then decided to cripple it, so it doesn’t show them up, which means that they’ve brought tech delays into a game for pretty much no reason.

I don’t agree. What we’re seeing is human error (ref makes a mistake), followed by a VAR check that is unable to correct the mistake because of ridiculous restrictions. It’s a good thing these lads aren’t in charge of something important, like a court.
Im kinda surprised to see you defending this TBH man.

26th October 2019 at 6:42 pm #51041Quite so Mak. Itβs almost as though the VAR team is Stalinist in its nature – i.e. the on pitch referees canβt be allowed to be seen to make mistakes and embarrass themselves, hence the on pitch referee must always be right. And this is supposed to be technology improving the game?

26th October 2019 at 6:50 pm #51042AnonymousThe thing about today is, Burnley were a lot better than Villa, yet they are getting annihilated.

26th October 2019 at 6:51 pm #51043I thought the City/Villa game was entertaining, spoilt by theRefs performance and VAR delays. This makes the game disruptive when it was flowing well. I thought Augerro was needed a little sooner because we are a little lightweight up front. Final whistle….clean sheet with our “poor” defence, only 9 goals conceded in 10 games..not that bad then, same was said last season and the season before. It is true though I wonder if we have a real defender but then again defenders are not Peps speciality but likes players who can play a system. It does my blood pressure no good when I see them passing the ball around in own penalty area…they are good at it…..until!!!!!

26th October 2019 at 6:56 pm #51045Hard to see where the wheels come off under Lampard at the moment. He has the kids playing well which will help give him loyalty in the dressing room, he still has a pretty good squad, and now has Pulisic banging them in. Abramovich and the club recruitment rarely makes bad calls…

26th October 2019 at 7:27 pm #51048Kudos to Chelsea to be fair with the 7 straight victories. Credit where Credit is due.
Forget all this ‘Sarriball’. Just play with Freedom! The obvious tactical area need working on is the defence, but that can be fixed over time.

26th October 2019 at 7:32 pm #51049Obviously disappointed with the two goals we have conceded in the end. you have to give credit to Rodriguez in their first. that was one hell of a strike. their second goal should have been prevented. but Tomori was unlucky with the deflection. this shows the importance of Willian to the team and his tracking back. our subs failed to impact the game. while their subs have given them a shot in the arm.

26th October 2019 at 8:16 pm #51052Mak, I don’t believe that Referees mean to make mistakes or that Video Assistant Referees mean to make mistakes when they review the technology but they are both down to human error.
The VAR overturned two key decisions today including a penalty for Chelsea.?
