Apologies for that Ed – can’t help the way I feel though.
I’m just not in that camp in liking my hometown. They might be doing well but I’m not really pleased with recent events such as Rodgers playing down the Hamza challenge on Salah and officials taking no action.

26th October 2019 at 8:21 am #50942That title was won on merit, but also back in 2016 the standards of the so-called big 6 dropped. They had this ‘expectation’ and almost some sort of divine right to beat or to do well against the ‘Big’ teams.
Maybe there is a jealous streak inside me of them winning the title whilst Liverpool have yet to win it since 1990.

26th October 2019 at 8:27 am #50943Will unfortunately miss the Man City game at lunch-time today. Maybe Villa can help us and hold them to a draw, but on the evidence of last weekend, Silva looks back on track and beaming with confidence. I see a 3-0 or 3-1.

26th October 2019 at 8:32 am #50944AnonymousJust try and focus on the positives rather than hating Leicester. There’s so much to be happy about with Liverpool right now. So much so that I look forward with a kind of biting concern, knowing that it won’t ever be this good for us again. Things are too perfect and a PL title might be coming our way in the next 3 years. We’ve a very very good chance at that happening.
Nine, Can we rule Leicester out of the title? No we can’t. It’s definitely too early to put them in that bracket though, at the same time. I know people’s opinion on them vary on here but my own opinion is that I’m kinda excited to see how they do. They are shaking up the PL once again and for me, it’s only a good thing. I am not too bothered about what rodgers said about the tackle on Salah, that’s football and we all know managers are incredibly biased in post match interviews. That’s always been the way. It doesn’t make Rodgers an A, B or C. He’s back though and I’m delighted for him. I hope he gets a CL place but obviously I don’t want them taking any points off us.
Leicester have yet to play City, so that’s 2 tough games where they may help us out (December and February).

26th October 2019 at 8:50 am #50945That’s right there are Positives to take into this Weekend for us from a fabulous performance, Wednesday Night.
I think we finally have our old Ox back hehehe 😀 Both of his Goals were stunning.
We have another genuine outlet to get goals from. We have Lallana too and Naby Keita is back in business so plenty to look forward to.
Sham to have to wait till Sunday. I love the Saturday Tea-Time Kick Offs.
Hopefully 3 points and back on track!

26th October 2019 at 8:53 am #50947AnonymousThat’s a good point now actually, what 3 do we start with? First off, of course Fabinho. But who then? I think Ox is too good to leave out. I’d start Wijnaldum and Ox with Fab in the middle. That has balance and bite.

26th October 2019 at 9:18 am #50951Mak, no I agree whilst nobody can be ruled out the title race is in reality just between Liverpool and City one might slip up but not both.
But you’re right Rodgers is doing a great job at Leicester.
United next?

26th October 2019 at 9:41 am #50952AnonymousOle : “We’ll need to be at our best to have a chance”.
Does anyone have any thoughts of this sentence? I do. I don’t think they are the words of a top manager. If Ole had said this about us last week, you’d say ya that fits. You don’t say that your team will have to be at their best to have a CHANCE of beating a team in relegation. What a completely stupid thing to say.

26th October 2019 at 9:44 am #50953AnonymousNine, Rodgers could go to Utd, absolutely. He wasn’t at Liverpool long enough to really form that bond that many managers and players would have. I don’t see Rodgers as that type anyway.
I’d obviously rather Rodgers stay at Leicester. I am supporting him and his side from afar but that would end the second he put pen to paper at Old Trafford. I’d be interested to know what the Utd lads on here think. I bet Leicesters early form this season would at least be softening their stance.

26th October 2019 at 9:51 am #50954Chaps as an objective observer re your thoughts on Rodgers. I used to live near Swansea when he was manager and he was almost universally disliked by the Swansea fans I knew. Not because of the football Swansea played but because of, shall we say, his outside activities. I remember at the time they were not sorry to see him leave.
It seemed the one thing that mattered to Rodgers, according to fans I spoke to was Rodgers.
To quote Shakespear, ambition should be made of sterner stuff. I have never met him but those who have generally dont have a nice word to say._____________________________

26th October 2019 at 9:55 am #50956AnonymousCheers for that little bit of insight Adlab and honestly, that kinda falls in line with Liverpool fans perceptions of him. He’s not perfect but I think he’s toned down the arrogance quite a bit . The fall from grace at Liverpool was a life lesson for the chap and he’s come back stronger now, perhaps.
I tell you what lads. If Klopp went tomorrow, I’d call for Rodgers to come back. *sits back to watch if peoples heads explode*

26th October 2019 at 9:57 am #50957After that performance some Southampton players should be sacked for not trying ie not doing the job they are paid for. Nobody expects 10 men to win(unless its City or Liverpool) but the manner of defeat was inexcusible. The manager should also carry the can and resign.

26th October 2019 at 10:03 am #50958For some strange reason, being me of course, I am feeling a bit nervous about todays game.
Our defence is looking very shaky._____________________________

26th October 2019 at 10:10 am #50960What a fantastic perfo from the Foxes against the Saints! Marvelous job BR is doing so far with some very exciting football being on display.Chilvell,Ricardo,Ndidi,Tielemans,Maddison, are very, very good players. In fact,Chilwell & Ricardo for me the best wing-backs in Europe,no joke.Maddison is an absolute joy to watch.Wouldnt surprise me to see Foxes finish 3rd,the best team in the league after Liber000ls and City!

26th October 2019 at 10:12 am #50961What struck me is that FSG gave Rodgers money to spend and he bought Lovren, Lallana, Firmino and Origi, yet we regressed.
His arrogance insisting on attacking football when a draw was enough at Anfield against Chelsea. I don’t think he is the ‘Top Manager’ some people are making him out to be.

26th October 2019 at 10:38 am #50965What would you say if you were a Southampton supporter?
Giving up like that is awful. Down to ten men they should fight like hell for some pride for their club and their fans._____________________________

26th October 2019 at 11:22 am #50966Just off the football a sec.
What a performance by England beating New Zealand. But what was so good was at the end. Proper respect for each other from both teams. No sulks.
A couple of TMO (Rugby VAR) going against England. No harrassing the ref, no back chat just acceptance by the captain and nobody else. No manager dancing on the touchline. What a difference!_____________________________
