Mikus, I said it about Lampard/ Terry, Im saying it about Kante… Players like these simply dont come around very often. It’s imperative we enjoy them while we can.
Fabinho does a really good job in a side that is doing very well. Different machine parts producing the same effect as city. Different player to Kante, most are in all respects.
Interesting thought for me, what do Liverpool fans make of Kieta. I remember when he signed Liverpool fans were hoping he was the next Kante, his performances suggested he had the motor in him to do it. Has he settled yet or is it looking a bit of dodgy business?
Would be interested on Spurs fans thoughts on Ndembele? If thats spelled correctly. Certain elements of him remind me of Essien and he was another colossus.

29th October 2019 at 2:08 pm #51297Only saw the highlights but I thought United looked a much better attacking force with Martial through the middle and that he combined really well with Rashford and James culminating in a lovely third goal.
Hopefully United don’t play Martial on Wednesday night.

29th October 2019 at 2:23 pm #51300442, we were all hoping Keita would be like Kante, and if he had been, we’d have pipped City to the league last season. But we’ve only seen glimpses of what we hope he can do so far. Apparently Klopp recently admitted that he’s only just started to grasp the English language, so with that, and an injury free run of games, I’m hopeful we can start to see more of what we initially expected of him in coming months. He could, potentially, taken us up half a notch or two if he can deliver.

29th October 2019 at 3:50 pm #51302Not a weekend to remember, another so, so performance with only 9 players trying, Poch has to drop , Dele and Eriksen , one is badly out of form, confidence ect the other is already planning his next club though if they are watching him I doubt he will go anywhere.
Poch has to sort these 2 out as well as Toby & Jan, if they are going tell the club FFS.
Ndombele, Lo Celso and maybe Sessegnon need to start asap I know there has been injuries but it’s now November and unless Spurs start winning any hope of any European place will be gone, maybe Levy is getting his payback for 18 months of non investment, we’ll see._____________________________

29th October 2019 at 9:56 pm #51319I was reading from somewhere today, that Arsenal fans have booed Aubameyang. not sure how accurate those reports are. but if true, you have to question the Arsenal fan base seriously. why would you boo your best player? and why would you boo your own player in the first place. i would understand the later. but can you imagine Liverpool fans booing Salah? or Spurs fans booing Kane? or Chelsea fans booing Kante? or City fans booing KDB?

30th October 2019 at 7:07 am #51331AnonymousI don’t understand it myself. You are booing them, which only creates a divide between fan and player. It only puts them further off their game. Nothing positive comes from it but something negative definitely does.

30th October 2019 at 7:27 am #51335AnonymousMikus, you’re definitely not wrong regards some of Fabinho’s performances earlier this season. His usual standard, if we can say he has one though is very high. I would still call him a top defensive midfielder, who’s taken a bit more time to get back into the flow of things. That said, besides a mistake here and there, his general level has been pretty high. He’s our best midfielder (in my opinion anyway).
As doe swapping him with Kante, I wouldn’t. Maybe that’s a mad answer but I think the sky is the limit for Fabs. Kante may be playing to an incredible standard as a DM but does he had the same passing range as Fabinho? He could have ended up with 3-4 assists the last day, Salah fluffed what would have been a certain goal for him 2 years ago. It was a lovely ball over the top of the defence and he did this several times, successfully.
The Spurs game is just one , against a team that maybe suited him in one regard but definitely didn’t in another. Fabinho was the focus of Spurs pressing, all game. The optimist in me says this match is the indication that his top level form is back. Stay tuned to find out, I guess.
Additional : I’m not saying Fabinho is better than Kante, just because I wouldn’t want to swap them. I don’t think he is, for the role he has. He’s just one of those players that I see big big things for, ever since that game against Red Star. At the time people told me to calm down that it was only some rubbish team in europe and sure enough, I think the following match was Arsenal, where I was all hyped up and he was terrible. very shortly after that though he began to impose himself on the PL.

30th October 2019 at 8:05 am #51338Kante is the best player in his position in the world. Absolutely fantastic player.
He seems to be more box to box now under frank. Under contract he sat in front of the back 5. Under sari he was more advanced now heβs just up and down under frank
His display in the super cup was unreal considering he wasnβt fit.

I don’t understand where you are coming from. of-course Fabinho is doing fantastic at the minute and he is a vital cog in the Klopp’s system. but it’s still too early to compare him to Kante who has done it both in the PL and at world stage. yes the arrival of Jorginho has displaced Kante from doing what he does best, and at the minute he plays box to box. let us not forget that he is also excelling in that position also. as he has 2 goals 3 PL starts. and at a times Kante plays alongside Jorginho which gives us extra defensive insurance. any team in the world like to have in their team for sure. and as a Chelsea fan, i have say we are privileged to have in our side. at the minute he is having a fitness issues, and Frank says that comes with the cost of playing every game without a proper rest coupled with playing whilst injured in the Europa league final. that again comes with sacrifice and his personality. while Fabinho is serving up well for Liverpool at the minute. and if they win the league which they are on course to do. then they will look back and point the arrival of Fabinho, Van Dijk, Alisson and Salah as the one that pushed Liveprool to the extra mile.
