Amazing how people are slamming VAR only when they impact their team. but are happy when other teams are impacted. this is the first season that VAR has been used. and mistakes will be made along the way. nothing is perfect the start but i expect improvements next season.

28th October 2019 at 1:19 pm #51217Var is causing more controversy then we have ever seen before. Not sure what was up with arsenal winner yday
Excellent win for Chelsea. Glad we played them before they really got going
Arsenal are a mess at the moment.
Really not making any real progress under emery

28th October 2019 at 1:30 pm #51220OI SEAN! you cant say that about Arsenal π
fecking true though, what a state we are in!
999, he should be stripped of captincy, should never have been made captain, and ideally wouldnt play again, i can see none of that happening and Emery continuing to play out the rope that will hang himself.
Who should be? Very hard call, the best players with the right attitude seem to be the younger players and in my view to young, no one stand out as vociverous enough, maybe laca or auba as senior players
if i was a manager, id have sessions with the players, MAKE them study the games, and let them see who did what and what could be better to tell them that no one is above being called out etc, instill some team ethics and spirit to question performances
what id give for a true leader in the 1st 11….

28th October 2019 at 1:31 pm #51221VAR should be used as an aid, as a last resort, for big errors, with the on pitch referee having the last call via the pitch side monitors. Instead, because of the availability of the technology, itβs taking over the game.

28th October 2019 at 1:37 pm #51225Stevo, I tend to agree mate and Xhaka has just added to the current problems at Arsenal.
I think David Luiz could do a good short term job as Captain.
I don’t think Emery will help himself or the situation at Arsenal if he doesn’t take the Captaincy away from Xhaka.

28th October 2019 at 1:41 pm #51226the thing is 999 he only just gave hiome the damn captincy after allowing a player vote that was very split….the man needs to man up and be a manager and start making some tough decisons and the first should be HOW TO DEFEND!!!

28th October 2019 at 1:50 pm #51227Anonymous10 games down and 8 points separate the top four. Realistically, City have yet to find top gear and Liverpool are flattering to deceive at the top despite the points advantage, think it’ll go to the wire again and city and Liverpool are going to have an epic battle..
Palace are having a cracking opening to the season. Well done woy… I cant speak for Arsenal as there are many better placed to do that here as already expressed in the thread. I thought it would be chelsea at this stage, but Agent Luiz is having a blinder, glad CFC are finding a new way very quickly.
Then everyone below palace are in a relegation battle!!! π Fantastic I say I say I say… What, what, what…

28th October 2019 at 3:28 pm #51231Mikus….I also seee that VAR will dictate the game and we will see more stoppages, correct or not and what I feared from the start one step away from match fixing. The game should flow as a game. VAR used for goal line decisions only until they can fully present a technology system that does not need humans, or what is the point.I would like to see more and better technology but not like this. We have a problem folks

28th October 2019 at 3:32 pm #51232442….it all makes for a better contest. My pre season prediction has gone wrong because I thought Everton would be up there with leicester but 10 games gone and all to play for.Liverpool and City will loose games, so yes it will be tight at the top until after Christmas when I expect a gap will appear

28th October 2019 at 3:35 pm #51233Chelsea man…..that may well be the case that teams not affected in a VAR will be happy, however, my view is the system should not have been introduced until they have better technology and management. I can only see increasing problems as much as I like the principle

28th October 2019 at 4:04 pm #51235The less said about this weekend the better, Poch has got to drop Dele & Eriksen, it’s like playing with 9 men . As soon as Ndombele and Lucas came on we actually made it into Liverpool’s half .

28th October 2019 at 4:35 pm #51239442-With all our players back from injury United can beat anyone on their day,and lose to anyone on their day.I too was expecting more from Everton, but its only 10 games into the season and anything its possible. The only thing certain is-Liverpool & City for the title race! Would be amazing if there were 2-3 more teams competing, and if Spurs play like they played yesterday, they could possible get back to their best. But well done to Rodgers and Lampard so far, they are doing a fab job, especially FL without buying in the summer.Thats the way forward imho, giving youth a chance, not wasting Β£80m on Maguire.

28th October 2019 at 5:22 pm #51247Maverick, you can’t build a team around youth without you’re lucky enough to have a lot of high quality youth coming through at the same time as United did in 92. That doesn’t happen very often.

28th October 2019 at 5:26 pm #512489-No mate, but how you are going to find out how good they are if you dont give them the chance to play? Would TA have been this good had FL played Michy & Giroud all the time? Would Mount have emerged and become a classy player he is if Pedro was playing instead? Yout got to give em a chance.

28th October 2019 at 5:28 pm #51249Mav – do you genuinely think that Liverpool’s pen yesterday shouldnt have been given? Aurier clearly kicked Mane on the back of the calf surely?

28th October 2019 at 5:47 pm #51256AnonymousWith var the fouls always look worse than they actually are, it’s almost become a case of you cannot touch an opposing player and it’s deemed a foul. We seen that lately not only with Liverpool but other teams as well.

28th October 2019 at 6:03 pm #51261Canβt believe thereβs even a discussion about the penalty.
Absolute stonewall. He impeded the player. Caught him full on.
Really bizarre I have to say lads.
