As well as a host of ex pros saying it shouldn’t have been red, I’ve seen Mark Clattenburg saying it should only have been a yellow for dangerous play.
If I was Klopp I’d appeal it.
Players have to be allowed to go for the ball and contact will happen – especially with the angles involved in this incident.
Thankfully the lads ok, and hopefully it will be downgraded to a yellow

9th September 2017 at 8:09 pm #4873I have said on the other thread I have no qualms over the sending off. With studs up and against that kind of speed, that collision could have ended with bleeding, injury to an eye socket, and anything surrounding the face.
Clearly if another official out there thinks differently, then there’s your answer to inconsistency.
Regarding the game itself, all is said already on the game thread and the biggest disappointment is not actually putting up a fight after the sending off and just giving an open invitation for goals. How on earth is a young guy like TAA supposed to learn his trade and build any confidence when there’s nobody there to learn from and look up to?

9th September 2017 at 9:08 pm #4875So United only get a draw at the Britannia and Mouriniho throws his toys out of the pram at the end. Well there’s a surprise!

10th September 2017 at 1:30 pm #4895A good Chelsea recovery after the unlikely opening day defeat by Burnley, 3 wins on the spin 2 of them from difficult away games v Spurs and Leicester has been positive and the team and the bench look far stronger now as Chelsea recover from injuries, suspensions. no Costa and a difficult transfer window and Chelsea should get stronger as the new signings begin to find their feet and with Hazard starting games.
Realistically 3 titles in 4 seasons is a bit too much to wish for but I would be disappointed if Chelsea finished lower than 3rd, hopefully subject to the draws being kind a domestic Cup is not beyond us and a bit of a run in the CL too. Here’s hoping.

10th September 2017 at 3:47 pm #4898My, that’s an interesting pattern at the foot of the table as it stands and in light of the result coming in from Turf Moor.
The 3 promoted clubs probably albeit nearly Newcastle have had better starts than those currently at the bottom.
I am surprised with Bournemouth, maybe they’ll turn it around soon. Palace could be the one that falls short come May 18 – wouldn’t want to see them leave the Premier League.
Not to read obviously anything too deep at this stage of the season.
