Somewhat against the run of play I feel….. but can’t argue the execution!

20th August 2017 at 4:51 pm #4028What is it with Chelske players scoring career goals at Wembly?
Biased, obviously, but don’t think my Spuds deserve to be losing this one… hopefully we can actually get it in the onion bag in the second half…

20th August 2017 at 4:54 pm #4029Spurs seem to have had more of the ball and more attempts. I still fancy Spurs to win this actually

20th August 2017 at 5:55 pm #4035AnonymousFair play to Chelsea. Punished us for not taking chances and making mistakes.
One thing that really annoys me is stoppage time. I don’t really understand how they come up with it but then in this game there were 4 minutes added. The ball was in play for probably no more than 45 seconds. Just doesn’t make sense.

20th August 2017 at 7:08 pm #4039No need to panic for spurs. They played well
Very good from Chelsea who were missing a few players.
Great game and great atmosphere by the sounds of it

20th August 2017 at 7:22 pm #4041AnonymousSean, thought it was a decent performance. Result could’ve gone either way. We do need some pace in the team though. No one that can run at players at the moment.

20th August 2017 at 8:43 pm #4042Annoyed with the result but not so much with the performance. I may be wrong but I’m pretty Hugo didn’t actually make a save during the match, they had two shots on target and got two bloody goals. My Spuds had the lions share of possession, but just didn’t quite click in the final third.

20th August 2017 at 8:53 pm #4043I agree with Sean, Spurs looked what they are a very very good side and not many teams will leave Wembley this season with 3 points.
Chelsea won’t be up and running imo for a few weeks yet and a front 3 of Hazard,Morata and Pedro when all are fit will be interesting and Bakayoko showed today with no preseason that he will bring a bit more drive and pace to Chelsea’s midfield. Hopefully a signing or two too before the window closes.
I think the title will go to Manchester this season but hopefully Chelsea once they are fully up and running will have enough to keep in the top 3/4.

20th August 2017 at 10:56 pm #4044I’ve barely seen any footy this weekend, so just catching up. Having just watched the highlights on MOTD, Wembley for me is just simply wrong for Spurs.
It feels as though it’s some sort of a Cup Final when in actual fact, it should feel like a Premier League game. It could take time adjusting which is human nature when you’ve been used to one particular territory for such a long time.
Great win for Huddersfield – really pleased for them. John Smith stadium looks fab – simply refreshing.

21st August 2017 at 11:02 am #4055Marcos Alonso is just a sparkling player for the Blues. Having watched the highlights, I felt the way Chelsea were set up with their width stretched Spurs – Alonso was instrumental to their win.
Meanwhile, after 4 or so years, I’m convinced United have recharged on the tempo they lacked with the right personnel in key playing positions – notably somebody they now have to bury the ball into the back of the net.
If you’re playing with the burst of energy and the level of threat in Rashford, Lakaku and Martial, you can annihilate the opposition.
Essentially, we were in this sort of position last year singing praises in the early stages and it’s always going to be about the team that will have enough for the course of 38 league games, but the way the squad has been strengthened plus taking into consideration Zlatan, the title could well and truly head back in the red part of Manchester.

21st August 2017 at 1:51 pm #4059Newbalance. ..couldn’t help thinking while watching yesterday why did Xabi Alonso not point Marcos Alonso in the direction of Anfield? Just what we have needed over last couple of years. Mind you, Andrew Robertson looks half decent

21st August 2017 at 3:25 pm #4060It could be a godsend to us Hightown. I don’t like the idea of Moreno back in the fold and would take an example in Robertson in a heartbeat. I’d like to think he’d have learned his trade and earned his stripes playing in a competitive and difficult lower league.
Here’s hoping he is the find we’ve been craving for. It’s a centre-half now that we still must try to get hold of.

21st August 2017 at 8:01 pm #4062Very offensive from city and very negative from Everton. Only 2 real
Attacking players in their team. I realise you can’t go to city sells guns blazing but that’s very negative from Everton._____________________________
