12th August 2017 at 5:02 pm #3616Well, there are still matches to be played on Sunday, but based on the results so far from the opening weekend, maybe our 3-3 draw away from home (leading and close to winning the game at one point) doesn’t feel so bad – though our defending most definitely isn’t a one off or freakish!
Chelsea, the current Premier League Champions lose at home to Burnley and newly promoted Huddersfield Town win emphatically at Crystal Palace!
I’m sure I’ve seen the Huddersfield boss cross paths with Jurgen Klopp – looks to be a meeting of minds or certainly, two resembling facial expressions and personalities that seemingly will get along.
In a light-hearted way, these two light up the Prem and make me laugh, hahaha 😀

12th August 2017 at 5:29 pm #3618Well, but for a very late winning goal, we almost saw 3 of the supposed title challengers in Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all dropping points. This is why we love the Premier League. Who would have predicted Chelsea to be 3-0 down at home to Burnley and then almost recover with 9 men? No other top league can compete for entertainment value.

12th August 2017 at 5:56 pm #3620Agree Ed. I can’t remember a more exciting opening weekend. All we need now is a 4-4 draw in the late kick off ☺️

12th August 2017 at 6:49 pm #3623AnonymousI wonder if that “must avoid a Mourinho season” quote will come back to bite Conte

12th August 2017 at 7:33 pm #3628This sort of reminds me of property prices in the way that they have risen and looking at the overall scale.
So it seems a D to C grade player you could fetch in excess of 20 million? Is that the sort of figure we’d be after for Sakho?
I thought we are now way past the loan out and just a matter of crossing the ‘I’s’ and dotting the ‘T’s’. One area where we are switched on is business deals when it comes to selling players and we’ve proved in recent times, we are no pushovers, haha 🙂 🙂

13th August 2017 at 9:25 am #3645Crazy few games. Liverpool were Liverpool but as I said the other day there’s always one big shock and that was the Chelsea game.

13th August 2017 at 9:33 am #3646I don’t get this obsession with sahko. We still conceded a shit load of goals with him in the team. Set plays are an issue because of the way we set up. That’s the managers fault, it’s not the players.
Okaka is a beast in the air but no one was man marking him? It’s half zonal and man marking. It’s not working. We concede to many goals. 3 in our first game. Absolute madness and we be out of cl if we defend like that
The squad is already depleted. Great going forward. I have full faith in klopp and I’ve friends turning on him. It’s nonesence but he’s here two years and we still can’t defend set plays. That’s worrying

13th August 2017 at 10:15 am #3650Sean, I’m not even convinced VVD is the solution to the problem. No doubt he’ll strengthen the back line but Liverpool probably need to invest in a decent defence coach as much as anything IMO

13th August 2017 at 11:28 am #3656Well, this weekend so far has seen a different and an unexpected return of results from certain fixtures, though I do feel if Rafa doesn’t set his team up right, then Newcastle could potentially get a pasting from Spurs.
I would like Hernandez to return to OT with a goal- that would be fab and to see the look on Jose’s face, hahaha 😀
Can see realistically a United win, but based on everything that’s unfolded this weekend so far, you just never know.

13th August 2017 at 11:32 am #3657I don’t know what was happening in relation to our defensive unit. This discussion though is probably better for the Liverpool message board, because we end up duplicating conversation lol, ha 😀
We were basically unorganized, half asleep and thinking that part of the game would take care of itself. Wrong JK! Your responsibility sir to sort this out!

13th August 2017 at 3:17 pm #3667Spurs look impressive. Remains to be seen if Wembley is going to be an issue for them though. Also important they get the depth they need in the last few weeks of the window. Banjo’s shopping list would do the job

13th August 2017 at 5:00 pm #3669Missed the Spuds game, hopefully I’ll see it later when the nipper has gone to bed, but got to say YooUtd don’t look too bad at all.
Was expecting more from the Spammers mind you, they haven’t really done anything of note in the first half.

13th August 2017 at 5:16 pm #3670Lakuku has had one stroll of a debut. It helps when you have a player like Matic in your line up.

13th August 2017 at 5:53 pm #3674Got to say, from the footy that I’ve seen this weekend, YooUtd look the most “ready” for it…..

13th August 2017 at 5:56 pm #3676AnonymousSpurs played well today. Even before shelvey stupidly got himself sent off I think we still would’ve won. Sissoko just did nothing right. Every chance he has had in the team he has wasted. Eriksen was pulling the strings throughout and defensively we looked as sound as ever with Kyle walker peters having a fine debut.
Didn’t see the united game but it appears it was a stroll on the park. I have read matic ran the show. Plus I got loads of points in fantasy football, so happy days.
I know it’s only one game in but I’m not impressed at all with West Ham’s signings, apart from Hernandez. They could have a long season.

13th August 2017 at 5:57 pm #3677Impressive that from Utd. West Ham were poor but Utd looked dangerous from all areas of the pitch. Pogba looked much better with Matic covering him. Martial showing signs that he needs to start. This was the kind of game Utd struggled with last year. It’s a long old season but Spurs, City and Utd most impressive so far after the opening weekend.

13th August 2017 at 5:58 pm #3678United look like PL Champions already. While we’ve been banging our heads against the brick wall with Kieta and Van Dijk, Jose buys Matic and Lakaku. Never mind making a statement, it seems already, he has the pieces he needs to complete his jigsaw.
