I just hope they don’t concede 7.

30th March 2019 at 1:23 pm #364552 mistakes, 2 punishments. You can’t play like a 3rd Division Team.

30th March 2019 at 1:47 pm #36457How is that an ilk of a Pro-football let alone a Premier League footballer?
That’s not technical ability, that is total lack of confidence.

30th March 2019 at 2:35 pm #36458Fulham at the very least did well not to concede more than 2 goals, but they are really lacking self-belief as a team and it seems as though Scott Parker is waiting for the curtain to come down to close off this season.

30th March 2019 at 2:37 pm #36459City did enough, kept in control. I would have liked a few more goals but 2 and a clean sheet away from home is more than acceptable. Now, the hard work starts over the next 3/4 weeks. Good to see KDB and Fernandinho back as well

30th March 2019 at 3:11 pm #36460Why wasn’t kffside called for cities first goal?

30th March 2019 at 3:41 pm #36461Sean. The new rules for offside allowed the man with the ball to shoot and if other players are in offside positions but not deemed interfearing with play it is not offside. Dont like this interpretation but it is what it is now.
Years ago it would have been offside but not now. It ISNT a decision going City’s way though its a crap rule,_____________________________

30th March 2019 at 4:16 pm #36463Adlab…you are right. The rule makes sense but still has some ambiguity to it. The game has to be careful not to be bogged down into fine edged ruleing, keeping the game flowing is important. The Refs, are trying to do the best they can under constant revisions and now VAR, if you take too much responsibility away from them the game is dead. The key is to lift the standards of Refereeing and that is not as easy as it sounds. I am sure they all try there best, I find the assistants more of a problem than the Ref, with poor decision makeing in the games I watch, without the benifit of TV or after the event comments

30th March 2019 at 4:22 pm #36464Adlab I k ow that pal but wasn’t Aguero in the keepers way minimizing his view?

30th March 2019 at 4:26 pm #36465Sean…I have seen more decisions go against City than for them but this is part of the game, once it has happened..the Ref ruleing is final, (pre VAR!!!) If decision makeing takes any longer than necessary then it is questionable keeping in mind from when the play stops not from when the Ref walks over, which can take time, with players surrounding him, All I am saying is, somebody is watching every phase of the game on a monitor, if they have to keep playing it back then there is uncertainty. Getting it right is important but it needs decisive decision makeing. That is where I have a problem….who is right? I am in favour of VAR providing it is used correcttly. Sorry, this has veered off the original response, the REF got it right Sean

30th March 2019 at 6:02 pm #36466From my point of view, the best football result this afternoon has to be from Elland Road 😀
My god it does make me feel sad how already there’s an ‘end of term’ feel to football given that we still have an important month in April to come.
3 ‘o’ clock experience is few and far between these days. Makes you want to appreciate each moment.

30th March 2019 at 6:06 pm #36467Possession, the fight to retain it and how they systematically carve open the opposition have been notable strengths in City’s approach to games.
The attacking part of the 11 are grouped together and move towards the 6 yard box in a way to make it easier to find the net and in fairness, credit to them.

30th March 2019 at 6:10 pm #36468Only way City’s first goal could have been ruled out for offside was if Aguero was interfering with play and arguably he wasn’t. City dominated the game but didn’t look like they were firing on all cylinders but still had far too much for Fulham.
I’m sure City are happy to have the likes of De Bruyne back he’s spent so much time out with injuries this season but they’ve cost him his sharpness and it will take a bit of time for him to get back up to his usual levels, it’s very difficult for players to come back from long spells injured and hit the heights they were playing at pre injury.
Fernandino getting minutes was a massive plus for City as he’s been a significant miss for them over the last few weeks as they don’t really have a natural replacement.
Potentially a bit of a tricky game for City after the international break and I suspect Pep will be grateful to get that one out of the way with a win and two more goals added to the goal difference just in case they ultimately need them.
I suspect it will be nip and tuck now between City and Liverpool between now and the end of the season and goal difference and even goals scored could easily come into it.

30th March 2019 at 6:11 pm #36469Commiserations Huddersfield. Obviously sad for all concerned. The parachute payment is a valuable ‘buffer’ if you like to take away, but naturally adjustments in cuts will have to be made accordingly.

31st March 2019 at 7:42 am #36471AnonymousUnited as usual and especially prevalent during Fergusons time have always had lady luck on their side, in fact in all my years of watching football the only other club that has so much good luck has been Real in the last couple of years, probably fates compensation for that terrible Munich tragedy.

31st March 2019 at 2:30 pm #36472Tactically brilliant of Sarri to leave all of Hazard, CHO and Kante on the bench. It must have confused Warnock!?
