Wolves clearly have been the best Newcomer and it’s refreshing for our league in general.
By no means our meeting with them at Anfield will be any pushover. If the Race does go right to the wire, we’re in for a full-blown drama.

2nd April 2019 at 10:29 pm #36734A decent game of football for the neutral.
But Ole, what were you thinking of going ‘gung ho’ when going down to ten meagainst probably the most organised and patient team in the PL. Surely one point was better than no points, especially when the fight for CL places is so tight.
You will learn._____________________________

3rd April 2019 at 3:23 am #36737Love watching inside Anfield on LFCTV, it gives a great insight into the goings on behind the scenes. Also love Klopp & his passion for the club & game. I hope to god he wins a major trophy with us, itβd be awesome to see him going off with the fist pumps after a major title. We are doing awesome this season so fingers crossed this could be the one. We are there abouts, just need to get over the line.

3rd April 2019 at 7:03 am #36739lot of respect for wolves, they have played so well for a first PL season, and have an FA Cup match to think of but still went out to win though united helped them to be fair….
i was watching the BBC match thread and some of the comments were so funny!
Jones is signed up for the next 5 years already as are many other dross…
Zidane has also said he doesnt want to seea madrid without varane and is going no where, unless his Β£500m buy out is met (half a billion on one player????)
so in any player swap deal i think you can discount him, but looks like courtois is of and so is bale, maybe Kroos….if you lost Pogba and De GEA, would those 3 make you feel good? i wouldnt if i was a united fan

3rd April 2019 at 7:05 am #36740Barca scored 2 late goals to get a 4-4 draw with villareal last night who are only just above the relegation zone, so not as imperious as they could be…..

3rd April 2019 at 7:18 am #36741Steveo, the simple answer is no! I don’t want us to go anywhere near Bale. He’s an awful diver, gets injured far too often and by the sounds of things at Madrid is very much his own person and not much of a team player. Look at his arrogant celebration not long ago when he shrugged off his teammates after scoring. No thanks. Kroos I’d definitely take. Potentially Courtois too. Varane is obviously a bit more difficult but it really depends how much they want Pogba I guess.

3rd April 2019 at 7:54 am #36744i just dont see Varane going anywhere, and the money you need for the summer i can see your accountants selling Pogba, then i can also see them getting Bale as Ed has always been a fan, though i agree with you mate it would be a very bad signing and not what you need, always liked Kroos, but not seen much about him in his RM tenure, why do they want rid if he is any good?
Courtois id stear well clear of, he was shocking the last season at Chelsea and handled himself badly, then shocking at RM and is not liked in the slightest by fans, good on his day and could and should have moved on but i think he had regressed….he is no De Gea thats for sure, so straight away the team is worse than the year before and withut Varan or a player of that ilk then you will still have Smalling and Jones in front of him and young at RB π
we have been linked with a fair few players as all clubs are but i have actually liked many of them even though they are the “tier below” but its got to be time to be brave and get younger talent in and stay away from rejects…_____________________________

3rd April 2019 at 8:43 am #36745Good watch last night.
Interesting team Wolves they put 10 men behind the ball v Chelsea but have the ability to attack, they’re on for a EL place if they can hang on to 7th place and City win the FA Cup which they’ve still got a chance of winning themselves too.
Bit worried for Ole it’s not 1999 anymore and he’s going to have to be more tactically astute going forwards. United shouldn’t have lost that game last night.
Zidane has hinted Bale could go, that Courtois will go and that Varane won’t be going anywhere Real likely to give Zidane Β£200m plus player sales monies so some will be sold and others will be traded.
De Gea is into the last year of his contract in the Summer not sure whether United have an option of adding another year but if he doesn’t commit to a new contract United will have to do something and in terms of available Keepers to sign Courtois would still be the best available.

3rd April 2019 at 10:59 am #36748Officially announcing Ole as permanent manager has actually increased the pressure on him, generally speaking.
However, the one positive with facing Barca is that theyβll be no great expectation to beat them, so the games are effectively a free hit, which will suit Ole down to the ground because the pressure is off him again which partly helped his recent successes.

3rd April 2019 at 11:24 am #36753all true but it is a double edged sword, should they get spanked by Barca it will be very bad for him, the club and the fans….more pressure, no so much of a free hit then…and this isnt the Barca of old either, great on there day but well capable of losing or at least not getting a cricket score….

3rd April 2019 at 11:30 am #36755Steveo, yes I should have made that caveat! Just makes that announcement ever more baffling. Thereβs generally more of an expectation now with Ole.

3rd April 2019 at 3:31 pm #36775Just watched Wolves v Utd highlights. EVEN I have to say Utd were v unlucky. They should have been three or four up in the first half.
Young got what he deserved and what he gets away with constantly. For Utd fans…just one of those games!

3rd April 2019 at 5:20 pm #36776Steveo, re “Courtois is no De Gea…” that’s just it. Who is? We ain’t replacing DDG with anyone like his quality because there is nobody as good as him, let alone one that is gettable. That means we’d be down quality wise just by replacing DDG. So we’d be going backwards just by trying to stand still. Same applies to Pogba. Who could we get, particularly with EL football likely, who is going to fill the gap Pogba would leave. Considering teams add about 30% when Utd bid for a player, we’re again going to have to overpay to try to replace him, again just to stand still. Tricky situation if we lose both
