Ed, I agree it would depend on a good Summer window. I think United will throw £200/£300m at it plus player sales and Pogba, De Gea and Herrera if they were to go may add potentially £450m to that although I think Bale or Varane would probably be part of any Pogba deal to Real and Courtois part of any potential deal to Real.
My main point really though was just because Liverpool and City have dominated the PL this season that doesn’t mean that will happen again next season or on an ongoing basis City have UEFA and FIFA problems to deal with. There’s been 4 different winners of the PL in the last 6 years and there maybe a 5th different winner this season.

Nine, I don’t believe we’ve ever spent more than circa 150mil in one window so to all of a sudden throw 450mil at it sounds a bit far fetched to me. If we did need to replace DDG and Pogba, just replacing those is a big ask before you even think about strengthening. Where do you find players like that who other rich clubs don’t also want to buy?

Ed, departures aside I think this Summer’s window will be United’s biggest ever transfer window.
If Pogba goes to Real I expect Real will want to do a player plus cash deal the same with De Gea.

My earlier point was by no means to disrespect Spurs – not in the slightest.
My point is ‘pundits’ being easily swayed or going hysteria when 12 games or 20 games of football has been played knowing the season is a measure of 38 games.
And this leads me onto my second point (fundamental), always urging teams not to completely give up and what can be achieved from a 9-10 match run (Solskjaer).
In Emry’s case, it’s been more about Arsenal’s away form.
And my final point (fundamental again!) is never buy into a false 7 point lead!!!!!

I agree there Nine. 150mil barely gets you a couple of top players these days and we need about 4/5 players to be anywhere near the top sides.
Player plus cash deals sound like they make a lot of sense but it’s incredibly rare they happen. We made a big mistake not insisting on Robben back when we sold Ronaldo IMO. I think Utd didn’t want to be seen to be taking Madrid’s castoffs and the same, I suspect, would happen here sadly. Kroos plus Varane for Pogba, yes please!

Ed, I think Real want to move some players on and player exchange will suit them too. Did you read what Garry Neville said about the Summer I put it up on the Solsjkaer thread it made a lot of sense to me.
Mav I reckon United will spend circa £200m plus player sales which I suspect won’t impact on FFP for United.

Just read it now Nine. Good summary I reckon. Yeah we’ll see. The amount of players likely to be going in and out is another reason why I wouldn’t have us challenging next season, irrespective of how well we buy. Rarely does a club make that many changes and hit the ground running. Lots of settling in to do if we do anything like the amount of activity Neville suggests.
That’s 3 headers now we should have put away!

Jones is awful Adlab. He’s an OK backup but should be nowhere near the first XI.
The decision to announce Ole permanently is going to badly come back and bite us. I will never understand what on earth the board were thinking to do that when they did. CL is out of the question the way we’re playing.
