Strange decision by Emery Stevo to make a player who is leaving for Juve in the Summer Captain?

1st April 2019 at 11:18 pm #36688Chucks it was remarkable your mob were competing with the moneybags 4 weeks ago, truly amazing really when comparing money spent. However this is why I keep saying it’s over a FULL SEASON where the massive squad comes into it. Just like us being 7 or so ahead at Christmas meant f all, as the season rolls on & games pile up the size of your squad makes the difference & c$ty have a far bigger one quality wise than anyone else, hence why I still said at Christmas they would win the EPL when a lot were saying Liverpool would win it.
Yes I’d expect Liverpool to finish above spuds with money spent & that looks pretty likely as well, however I didn’t expect us to be still pushing city with just 6 games to go, I thought they’d have it wrapped up with 3 or 4 to spare & whilst that still might happen it looks unlikely._____________________________

1st April 2019 at 11:23 pm #36689I hope he’s wrong but I think Mak might be right with Keita. Before I get the same backlash I’ll say why.
I think Keita is very suited to the box to box role & is very good at it but as we know in a Klopp system he likes you to be able to play multiple roles. This is where I think Keita is struggling. When not in his preferred position he doesn’t really influence a game at all & struggles to perform.
Yeah he might learn to be effective but like Mak my gut feeling is he will not have the impact we hoped for at LFC. I don’t think we will sell him in a hurry but I’m not confident he will be what we thought he’d be._____________________________

2nd April 2019 at 12:23 am #36690After the latest round of games, there is now a 16 point gap between 1st & 3rd spots, and a 16 point gap between the top 6 and the rest (6th and 7th). And there is a 16 point gap between 7th and 18th spots (the relegation zone). The gap between the top 6 and the rest continues to widen.

2nd April 2019 at 12:32 am #36692i.e. Wolves in 7th, are as close to the relegation zone as they are to Chelsea, in 6th.

2nd April 2019 at 7:30 am #36693well now, a nice win that
3rd place at least for a few days
999 im not sure and it is odd, but then its odd he is going, since he got his move to Juve he has been one of our best and most consitant players, maybe its a nod to his professionalsim and how well he has been doing for his last year with us and maybe the rest of the lads are happy with thati think we will see a fair few changes in the summer, money spent but but on the lower tier of players than other teams as we do need a considerable rebuild in certain areas, will be interesting to see, thenonce he is gone a new capatain…

2nd April 2019 at 7:47 am #36694Good win Stevo you’ve got what Chelsea haven’t pacy strikers who score regularly. Two out of Spurs,Arsenal and United for the other two CL places.

2nd April 2019 at 2:03 pm #36698After 32 games, we find the Gunners leapfrogging.
I think a lesson learned not to buy into all the talk in the way ‘experts’ think they know which teams have sewn up (in order) top 4/6 places.

2nd April 2019 at 2:21 pm #36700not that much of a suprise, chelsea have been shocking, united had Maureen and the world and his wife knew the spuds would choke and finish 6th….

2nd April 2019 at 3:23 pm #36701AnonymousI dunno. I think you’ve got to give Spurs huge credit for keeping pace for so long. 2 times they were right on us and this was when results were going more consistently well for us. Spurs have fallen off a cliff only pretty lately.
I mean, Liverpool are ahead only because we have a game more played but look at our results. 1 loss, 7 draws. That’s almost abnormally good. I won’t look at all the previous seasons at this point of each season but I’d imagine that besides City’s run last term, a Chelsea win and maybe a Fergie season or 2, that the front runners would usually have more damage done to them by now.
I remember teams losing 6-7 games and still taking the title. I think 6 was almost a magic number to not go past at one stage. We’re here with only 1 and we’ll most likely not win the league! … So, let’s not be too critical of Spurs.
I think coupling what I’ve said there and what Mikus has said, you could argue that it isn’t a big 6 and that Liverpool and City have broken away from the pack to form a front 2. Now obviously this would have to be sustained over a few years before you could go further with that… and no way in hell that will happen. At least 2 of the remaining 4 will have big big seasons next time around.

2nd April 2019 at 3:25 pm #36702AnonymousLiverpool will likely get into the 90s this season and not win the league. That is the most likely scenario! That’s ****ing crazy.
If we were able to get maximum points, that’s 97 and to come away with 2nd.. I mean just after City were the first to reach 100 points last term, this would just be so weird.

2nd April 2019 at 5:02 pm #36705Football is cyclical and unpredictable very unlikely that at least United won’t be up there challenging next season and in a great new Stadium with a couple of smart signings Spurs too.
Who would have predicted that Liverpool would still be waiting for their next title win way back in 1990.

2nd April 2019 at 5:05 pm #36706Really worried about the Wolves game tonight. We’ve been pretty poor now for a few consecutive games. The dip after announcing Ole as permanent manager was hardly a surprise and I have a feeling it could go on for a while yet. I’m not expecting a win tonight but it’s absolutely crucial that we put in a performance to show that we’re still to be counted into the top 4 race with the other 3. Another couple of performances like the last two and we’ll be looking at Europa League i fear.

2nd April 2019 at 5:11 pm #36709Nine, way too early to count Utd into next season’s title race. We’ve a rookie (in PL terms) as manager, stand to potentially lose Pogba, De Gea and Hererra, our buying record since Ferguson and Gill left has been shocking. We might have a lot of money to spend but we’re lightyears behind Liverpool and City and they’re not going to stand still in the transfer market. We could still finish 6th. We’re years away from challenging for the league
