Wasplicker… don’t care where you got the bottle tops from me auld mucky cyber chum, your team yesterday still cost a shed load more than the Spuds did, so crying about how much more City have spunked is a bit of a lost cause in my igloo… π
But yes, the history books will say you boys bet my boys twice this season, pity the sub note will point out Toby scored the winner!!
Although I must say, claiming Spuds fell apart yesterday is a bit harsh, we could have been 3-1 up if Disco and Dele had their shooting boots on and that was just in the 5 or so minutes before the freaky own-goal…
As SteveBuffyKeeyes pointed out, we’re going to finish 6th in a 3 horse race!! Best stadium in Europa!!

1st April 2019 at 8:53 am #36580I didnβt mean yesterday banjo, I meant over the last few weeks me aul China
You canβt compare Klopp s spending to cities
Pep has 400 m net spend and Klopp 100m
City didnβt have to sell the their beat player to buy two players we badly needed.,
Itβs remarkable how we are ya Even competing with City Buttercup
Have a great day my son: I woke up in such fantastic form. What a beautiful day

1st April 2019 at 8:57 am #36581Banjo, Sean meant Spurs fell apart again this season as they have done previously not that they fell apart yesterday.
I thought Spurs deserved at least a draw yesterday but you can’t legislate for goalkeeping errors which Loris now seems prone to. Poch should give Gazzaniga a run now.

1st April 2019 at 9:04 am #36582you can legislate for GK errors when they said keeper is prone to them, becuase he is prone to them!
that said i didnt think Pools keeper had one of his better days either, he was just luckier and had great defenders…both keepers kept mishandling and looked shaky and pushing the ball in to dangerous areas, for the OG was it just me or was that ball from the Salah header easier to catch than not, was hardly the most powerful of headers…_____________________________

1st April 2019 at 9:21 am #36583On Poncho’s net spend compared to Pep “Golddust” Guadali-whatsit and Jurgen “My 75 million CB wasn’t really 75 million cause wasplicker says so” Klopp??
Was it remarkable (4 weeks ago, π ) how we were competing with Pep “400 Million” Guadali-whatsist and Jurgen “Only 100 Million” Klopp… don’t remember us Spuds asking for smoke to be blown up our respective bottoms and whining about all the bottle tops everybody else has been spunking…

1st April 2019 at 9:29 am #36584is it other clubs fault your tin pot team and chairman refuse to spend on the playing staff? still im sure it makes you feel the much bigger man knowing that your cheaper team can compete with the big boys for at least 2 thirds of a season before tanking π
moral high ground is always more preferable to trophies rihgt? π

1st April 2019 at 10:35 am #36590These days with managers/head coaches, net spend is no longer as much a measure of a manager’s success as a measure of how the football directors, general managers, head scouts are performing. Managers don’t have as much say as they used to and can’t control what’s spent on players or what prices is achieved for players.
Regardless of who cost what, Spurs’ squad is good enough to be competing with the top sides in the league, as was Arsenal’s under Wenger during all those years where Arsenal like to brag that they at least had a healthy bank balance.
It’s also worth remembering that Poch has had 5 years to get his squad right, inherited a brilliant backline, the best striker in world football, one of the best playmakers in the league in Eriksen etc etc. So considering he’s competing for a top 4 place with Ole, Sarri and Emery, all of whom have spent a fraction of time at their clubs combined vs what Poch has spent at his, means I don’t buy into the “poor Spurs” agenda either. The fact they exited the cups against sides who spent a fraction of what they did sort of rubbishes the point anyway.

1st April 2019 at 10:49 am #36592Nobody is saying “Poor Spurs”, Eddy me auld Swedish cyber pal sweatheart chum, just mentioning to those good Sirs from Whinefield that they have it a lot better than most and perhaps shouldn’t be whining about City’s spending as they’re not exactly in the same league as us mionions of the Premiership… I mean, they’re sooo good we had to win it for them, despite the hundreds of millions of bottle tops they’ve spent… π

1st April 2019 at 11:20 am #36598I borrowed this from “elsewhere”…..
Interesting stat, Harry Kane was injured and missed 5 league games and spurs won all 5. He returned for the Burnley game, since his return Spurs havenβt won in 5 league games, picking up up a single point out of a possible 15.

1st April 2019 at 11:23 am #36600It’s a weird one Stevo. But on their day Spurs are capable of giving anyone a game the problem is they don’t have enough days.?

1st April 2019 at 11:28 am #36601My theory is that they are actually a team a team from Venus as that planet has approximately 2 thirds the number of days per year than Earth ans so they are actually quite there as they dont have to choke for the last third…. π

1st April 2019 at 11:29 am #36602On one hand Pochettino has said “we need maybe up to 10 years to instil a winning mentality into the team.” On the other hand he’s also said “winning cups only builds egos”. Funny how such inconsistency is being reflected on the pitch.

1st April 2019 at 11:48 am #36604Don’t like the Spuds??? What else you gonna eat with your Bangers???
Everybody’s 3rd favourite team (as we all know Salahpool is everybody elses 2nd favorite team) and you all know it!!
How we’re gonna larff when City win it and Spuds finish 6th… my sides are splitting already.
As for your theory, Buffy, you can stick that right up Uranus!! (See what I did there? ARSE? URANUS?? I’m in brilliant form today! Toby’s got nothing on me!! )
Is there a Doctor Klingon in the house?

1st April 2019 at 12:07 pm #36605AnonymousIn response to Chucky @ 1st April 2019 at 7:06 am
I don’t want to fuel debate here but you brought it up , so I think a short response is ok.
yes, your team cost way way less than ours and you might not see much of a difference between our kind of spending and Citys. As for Liverpool, the money that comes in is 100% legit and ok by the rules, so far. City have “sponsorship” deals that were far and away above their market price/value, funnelled in indirectly in order to evade FFP rules.
Liverpool’s value is built from past successes and hasn’t been “juiced”.
As well as we’ve spent lately, our financial clout is nowhere near what city are capable of. Didn’t they spend over Β£100m on 2 RBs about 1-2 years ago? (or something like this? ).. That’s some pretty insane finishing touch work. We’re nowhere near that yet. Our spending has been on building a strong spine.
Anyway, I said I’d be short, so i’d better shut up lol

1st April 2019 at 12:21 pm #36606Oz bought it up pal, rather than celebrating a bloody early Christmas Pressie, he started banging that “oh, whoa is thy, so close yet so far, tis blue moon check book tis bigger than Bella Emberg’s bum, who can compete with farts so fragrant”… or something like that…
It was the post right before mine at 7:08!! π
