That Whoscored.com team is far more to my taste. I’ve got Firmino, Pope and a Burnley center back in my team!!

18th April 2018 at 9:48 pm #20650No worries, Ed! I thought you had to mean that because it has been Firmino’s best season by a distance!

18th April 2018 at 9:53 pm #20654Hightown, Firmino would have attracted a lot of votes imo I’m sure he wasn’t very far away from making the team of the year.

18th April 2018 at 9:55 pm #20655And Brazil, you keep picking your rubbish centre-forwards like Fred, Jo, Bert, Alf, Stan or whoever, and Firmino can remain with us as the best-kept secret in football.
Kane has somehow found his way onto the Young Player shortlist too, even though heβs 25 in a few months. 25!
Presumably he insisted he was only 19 and everyone went along with it because βHarry Kane is an honest lad and if he says heβs 19, then thatβs good enough for me.β I expect heβll find his way onto the Manager of the Year list as well.

19th April 2018 at 4:46 am #20666Young Player award is always a joke… does anybody actually know what the “criteria” is for that?

19th April 2018 at 7:05 am #20668Don’t understand Kane being up for the Young Player of the Year I thought you had to be 23 or under at the start of the season and Kane turned 24 last July?

19th April 2018 at 7:23 am #20670cant understand how Otamendi made it, terrible defender and one of the reasons why City lost a couple of games and let in a few goals. Alonso only just makes it due to his goals and assists as basically a fullback. Otherwise I think the rest deserve it.

19th April 2018 at 2:43 pm #20678I think it’s hard to argue against the PFA team of the year. I’d agree Aguero even though he’s great could be replaced with Firmino.
Other than that I think De Gea, Salah and De Bruyne have been the standout players all things considered this season. De Gea is probably the only United player that has performed to his true level all season.
I’m glad to see Eriksen included. whenever I have seen him for Spurs, I think he’s been one of their absolutely best players. He’s been doing the business for Denmark as well. He has really matured as a player over the course of the last few seasons. Hopefully he’ll continue his fine for for us when it’s world cup time.

“I donβt score points and never will in playing fantasy league in not picking Man United players because deep down I hate them and I donβt want them to do well, why should I?”Usually you react pretty strongly to any real or imagined written attack or negativity towards Liverpool. Remember that respect between posters from different clubs aren’t one way traffic. And reading this thread I see noone talking down to you.

19th April 2018 at 2:56 pm #20679BaconMuncher… we all love Silly-Willy-Nilly, but you’d do well to remember to check the time of the post after you’ve read the contents… just like a Gremlin, he flips out right after the 9 o’clock news finishes or if you pour Tizer on him… π

19th April 2018 at 3:05 pm #20681So we should just expose him to bright light and hope for the best?

19th April 2018 at 3:08 pm #20682Is that when little Silly-Willy-Nilly’s pop out? Bloody hell, millions of mini-Silly-Willy-Nilly’s running around, makes the mind boggle for sure!

19th April 2018 at 3:12 pm #20683Blaze..if the only reason, as you suggest, City lost a couple of games because of him, he has not done too bad for the rest and just check Cit goals against column. Otemendi has improved considerably, I am not sure about him in the selection but other players must think highly of him. As for Augerro…Mr consistent, he is always amongst the goals and should have been selected years ago, will always baffle me why he was not…..Hightown…just as it baffles you about Firmino

19th April 2018 at 3:14 pm #20684If Silly-Willy-Nillies are to pop out, Silly-Willy-Nilly must be thrown into a swimmingpool. Wetness is in any case required. To get rid of them, bright light is required.

19th April 2018 at 3:34 pm #20687Brian – my point exactly about Aguero. He’s had better seasons, and probably should have got POY then rather than now, when he’s had, by his own incredibly high standards, a discernible drop off. I’m a big fan of Aguero, but I just think that this season Firmino has had a better one!
