This time last year I would have sold Couthino but we can’t now. Doesn’t matter how much is offered. It’s to late to replace him. The fans will turn on the owners and we could lose klopp who certainly isn’t going to sanction his sale.
Couthino is getting better but he takes an age to recover from injury and he’s injured for at least 6 weeks of every season.no way would I sell. If we do it leads to huge unrest and we will panic buy.

10th August 2017 at 10:58 am #3348Spurs can’t sell rose. Brilliant left full. So strong and fast. He can defend and attack. He would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea or Utd. I hope he stays with Spurs but Spurs need players.
Great starting 11 but they need more quality in the squad

10th August 2017 at 11:20 am #3376AnonymousIs Coutinho really a £90m player? I can’t see it TBH.
Difficult to sell now as very late to get a replacement in, but apart from that I would be happy to sell at £90m.
Player prices have gone through the roof this summer, so it’s hard to get players in at a true value. Utd have been trying all window for a winger and can’t find anyone worth buying at the prices being offered.

10th August 2017 at 11:25 am #3381Sean, good to see you here.
Personally, I hope we stay away from Rose. As good as he is, I really don’t like how he handled that interview. Besides, going for Rose would mean we’d all but given up on Shaw which would be a real shame as he showed so much promise. Strange one for Spurs. They need to work hard on keeping their current players happy and that’s before they’ve even considered strengthening their squad further.

10th August 2017 at 11:41 am #3385Ageee Alfie but is Keane worth 30m, ake 20 and others mate
Transfers have gone silly. Ridiculous prices. 90m is ridiculous money but we need
Players. We can’t afford to sell any of our key players. We have hardly strengthen the first 11 and if couthino goes then we will panic but like we did with ballotelli. We can’t sell him. We have money but the problem is we can’t attract any players and have made large bids so money doesn’t matter. If you get what I’m saying mate
Good to see you in here and I’m sure we will have some good debates over the season

10th August 2017 at 12:24 pm #3392Ed- hasn’t Mourinho already given up on Shaw? Or has he been playing preseason?

10th August 2017 at 12:40 pm #3395Hightown, it certainly looked like he had (given up on him) but he started giving him a few games towards the end of last season and then he got injured. He went with the squad for pre-season but was never going to be fit enough to play. It seems like he’s going to be giving him a chance to prove himself again.
As much as I didn’t like Mourinho’s public criticism of Shaw, he has rarely looked in shape since joining us and clearly needs to work a lot harder to establish himself at a top club. I’d love to see him recapture his Southampton form or even his form from just before he broke his leg for us. When on that form, there are few better left backs around imo.

10th August 2017 at 1:29 pm #3400Considering the nonsense in the Red Tops, I reckon we could be seeing a Rose/Shaw swap of sorts on the cards!

10th August 2017 at 4:45 pm #3416I see PSG are “close” to getting the Monaco lad for another 160million bottle tops….
So, 400million bottle tops on 2 players in 1 transfer window… fair to say FFP rules are now about as useful as tits on fish?

10th August 2017 at 5:15 pm #3420AnonymousHi Sean, yes fees are crazy this summer. There is just so much money around these days that clubs don’t need to sell so prices go up. European clubs know how much money is in the PL and want in on that too. Utd used to get charged an extra £10m on transfers, now it seems everyone is!
If you think how skint Everton were a few seasons ago and now how much cash they are spending it highlights the change.
I can see release clauses being inserted into most deals now as it’s the only way a player can get a transfer these days.

10th August 2017 at 5:20 pm #3421Banjo, PSG after Mbappe , really? I hadn’t seen that. That would be just incredible and a real middle finger to the authorities after all the fuss over the Neymar fee and how they would afford it. They’re going to be an extremely dangerous team with or without Mbappe.

11th August 2017 at 1:28 pm #3495No idea what to make of the Coutinho saga. One minute he’s definitely staying, the next he’s handing in a transfer request which Liverpool are denying. Could be a lot of twists and turns in this one yet. I wouldn’t like to gamble on either scenario

11th August 2017 at 1:49 pm #3499Hey Ed, yes the Coutinho story seems like another family saga at Liverpool, how comes seemingly everytime we get into a transfer situation it turns into an episode of Brookside? We’re all still waiting for the resolution to the cliff-hangers on VVD and Keita 🙂

11th August 2017 at 2:08 pm #3503Ahhh so sad looks like Coutinho wants to go…is he ready for Barca? The same guy who got hooked by Woodburn twice last year? Don’t get me wrong he’s a special talent but Barca don’t take well to players who only play well for 2/3 of the season…isn’t it better to have learn how to play well for one entire season witj a good year at Liverpool and then leave with everyone’s blessing?

11th August 2017 at 2:22 pm #3509Sorry lads. Couldn’t resist. Joking aside, I’d be sad to see Coutinho go. I really want all the best players to stay in the league. It’s about time the English clubs started putting their superior wealth to good use and dig their heels in when it comes to those 2 clubs.

11th August 2017 at 2:22 pm #3510AnonymousCoutinho and Barca have ambushed the club. He’s already a Barca player in his head so he’s playing ball with them after their lowball bids. Well for me it’s a minimum of £150m or no deal but at the very end of the window and without uttering a word before this? Bad form. I don’t want to see him play for us ever again even if Barca can’t find their wallet. Reserves and maybe PSG will want him next summer.

11th August 2017 at 2:32 pm #3511Would be great to see Liverpool refuse to budge Mak, but I just can’t see it. Liverpool surely need to start looking to life after Coutinho already rather than delaying the inevitable. I hope I’m wrong

11th August 2017 at 2:39 pm #3512How many weeks does Liverpool have to find a replacement 2 weeks? I just can’t see it. The club will be awash with money but will not have anyone to spend it on to replace Couts. I think it’s time to give Barca the middle finger.
