Does it really matter who plays who first or last, fixtures have pros and cons for every team. End of the day you have to play and try to beat whoever and whenever.

15th June 2019 at 11:26 am #42623The magic of the cup started to diminish with the advent of televised league football, barring the odd international and the World Cup it was the only live game on the box. The whole day was dedicated to it. For me footy on the box has gone past saturation point. Itβs a shame really as cup final day used to be something special….Pagan

15th June 2019 at 1:09 pm #42624It will matter to those teams that have back to back difficult matches and then find themselves struggling in the bottom half of the table.

15th June 2019 at 5:07 pm #42625Clubs have to win Cups not have them given to them because they had a good season and CL Final aside Spurs season v previous seasons was average at they lost 13 of their 38 PL games and got knocked out of both domestic Cups.
With regards to City’s spending providing it falls within the FFP rules nobody should have a problem with it.
Liverpool’s season last season was boosted by the Β£250m spent on 4 players not a criticism but that shows what can happen if you buy the right players.
Spurs if they buy the right players this Summer and retain their key players too are the most likely challengers to City and Liverpool next season imo.
If Clubs want to challenge for the top trophies they have to invest in their squads bar Leicester City which was a once in a lifetime achievement that’s the way it’s always been.

15th June 2019 at 8:12 pm #42626The sentiment towards Spurs was a supportive one in a sense that they deserve not to end the Season without a Trophy. To be fair to them in reality, they were the only team last season as genuine outsiders.
You’re right Nine to an extent that the amount of losses in the league will rightfully tell on the final table and there were a batch of losses which isn’t really presenting itself with high standards as such, though their journey in the Champions League was commendable.
To put it into an analogy, it’s a shame to be the Bridesmaid and I sense this is what and why Spurs supporters maybe may feel hard done by.
We ourselves play with a front 3, but in my view, any team wanting to challenge realistically for honours have to have at least 2 Top Strikers, out and out.
Cheers
