Paul Merson is one of the worst pundits around. He talks absolute nonsense half of the time
Kane would probs cost the guts of 180-200m

15th August 2020 at 8:33 pm #151788Sean, not a chance that Kane will go for that sort of money now mate due to his injuries and the Corona Virus situation I think it would be £100m top whack but Spurs won’t sell him this Summer.
I’m reading Poch to Barca and him looking to take Kane with him as part of the rebuild that might be a problem if that happened as that might unsettle Kane but I still can’t see Spurs letting it happen.

15th August 2020 at 8:43 pm #151798Ye it’s a bit excessive alright nine but Dortmund want 108m for Sancho if reports are to be believed chum
I can see levy looking for really silly money for Kane mate if spurs were to sell

15th August 2020 at 8:52 pm #151807In fairness what a really really quiet window with 4 weeks to the season.
No Surprise with c19 etc.
What bizarre times in football and the world.

15th August 2020 at 8:53 pm #151809It takes two to tango Sean Levy can ask what he wants and I’m sure he would if he were to agree to sell Kane and O font think he will but even the likes of Real Madrid and Barca are struggling under the effects of Covid 19. Likewise Dortmund might want £108m for Sancho but only United are interested and they don’t want to pay that sort of money.
If Chelsea were selling Hazard this season for instance instead of last season putting aside Hazards problems at Real this season I doubt they would have got much more than £60m instead of the circa £120m inc bonuses they have got so far.
Anyway I’m the President of the RSPCC and any talk of Spurs selling Kane is cruel on Chucky.?

15th August 2020 at 10:22 pm #151911I certainly do Brian, only had the match on bbc text
All I can say is as bad a miss as it no doubt was these things do happen Even to the best, same as a keeper error, only human
Sounds like this is all on pep with a yet another strange selection…. definitely out thinks himself on occasion
Shame for Foden who has been brilliant and you have to play at least one SilvaIt read like an Arsenal performance of old all huff and puff and soft goals
Never mind Brian and the rest I honestly do think you will win this cup but was a good chance this year somewhat thrown away

16th August 2020 at 10:58 am #152468As I have eluded to with other posts Steve Pep did get this wrong and it is an opportunity missed but if you are good enough you will come back from this. The point with Sterling is he is not clinical but reactive player, great when it comes off but too many times w City fans have watched him miss the same kind of chances. I have also mentioned before that although our CBs have been heavily critisised our keeper is not without blame and i reckon he cost us 3 games last season plus a sending off. he needs a stronger challenger, too comfortable

16th August 2020 at 4:04 pm #152720Maverick….Messi should have enough petty cash now to buy Barcelona and I think that is where he is staying, pick and choose his own games then!!!
Kane…no thanks..a year older and question onhis injuries now, would prefer younger model

16th August 2020 at 4:08 pm #152727Wouldn’t be surprised if Messi is looked at Brian for City. They may see him as a last roll of the dice to nail the CL trophy, what with Pep at the club too. As I’ve just posted on the other thread, City are at the point in the big club cycle where they may start getting increasingly erratic in their attempts to stay/get back to the top.

16th August 2020 at 4:12 pm #152736City seem well run to me so I don’t think they will panic in that way
Especially with the spot light on
They have loads to get rid of as Brian has stated
Won’t generate fortunes but certainly help_____________________________

16th August 2020 at 4:16 pm #152740Would Messi cost that much at this stage of his career though Steveo? If he does leave, I couldn’t see him going anywhere but rejoining Pep at City. Also they want the CL badly.

16th August 2020 at 4:26 pm #152751I guess he wouldn’t cost much but in wages and bonus’s he would but still think he could do a great job for a year or two and would love to see him grace the PL
Should be Arsenal by rights as we are the old folks home ?
Haaland for me would be great for city can score all types of goals and just loves to play
Only other young striker would be greenwood..2 great feet and young but if Man U let him go to anyone there would be murders

16th August 2020 at 4:42 pm #152766Mikus…do not get me wrong on Messi to City…would love to see him play in the blue shirt but I really do not think it will happen. If anything he may look at buying into Barca I also read you good post on re cycle but the one thing that gives me great confidence at City now is the way it is run. They will sit down analyise what has gone wrong and why and then decide to move on…there will be no panic measures involved. THis year was supposed to be a good year, it did not work out but the structure to move forward is still in place, if Pep goes or anybody else..the club will go forward again, at long last we have a stability in management with objectives in mind

16th August 2020 at 5:42 pm #152820Maybe Brian, but no matter how well run the club is, if Messi did become available it would take some serious restraint not to be tempted to go for him, particularly given how much the club wants the CL.

16th August 2020 at 6:01 pm #152836If Messi leaves Barca and I don’t think he will I suspect as he has always said he will go back and play in Argentina

17th August 2020 at 1:13 pm #153682All very reminiscent of Jose’s last transfer window at Chelsea in his first tenure at the Club.
