11th August 2020 at 11:10 am #147766Doesn’t make sense for Leverkusen to delay Harvetz until next year providing Leverkusen can get a fee close to what they want for him because he will only have a year left on his contract next Summer.
That one will either happen or not happen at all in the next 7/10 days now Leverkusen are out of the EL.

11th August 2020 at 11:16 am #147771Yes Sean Liverpool saved themselves £9m there on a player who will only be a back up for Robertson. Tough position to fill who would want to understudy probably the best attacking left back in world football.

11th August 2020 at 2:11 pm #147875“ESPN claim Barcelona are the leading contenders to bring Eric Garcia back to the Nou Camp.
However, the Spanish heavyweights are unlikely to pay in excess of £13.4million for a player who is out of contract next summer.” Express 11/08

11th August 2020 at 3:08 pm #147916Nine…that is true, however City are under no pressure to sell at this moment and if it goes to Christmas other clubs could challenge Barca for his services. Very promising player. It is another case of swings and roundabouts It maybe worth 13 million to keep him to contract because we are still thin on the ground in that position. Fernandinho is not a CB, Otemeni and Stones will leave before Garcia I think

11th August 2020 at 3:20 pm #147925Brian, Garcia is Barca born and bred buddie and he only has eyes for Barca now they want him back.
He’s only got a year of his contract to go so City can hang on to him but I doubt that is in either City’s or Garcia’s best interests .
As for City holding out until Christmas in the hope that other Clubs will come in and challenge Barca for Garcia they might but with just a few months left on his contract I suspect City would get less for him than is offer now and Garcia wont have changed his mind about wanting to return to Barca and nobody will pay a big fee in January for a player they can sign for free in January anyway even though he can’t move until the Summer.

11th August 2020 at 3:23 pm #147929Unless we have a replacement it is not worth selling at that price.
If we bought a £52m player, one season worth of a five year contract is a cost of about £11m, if you get my logic. So why should we boost Barca for that level of fee.
Looks like Otemendi will go for a small fee or free too.
Garcia going still leaves us short at the back. Laporte, Ake, Stones isnt enough for a long season and undoubted injuries._____________________________

11th August 2020 at 3:34 pm #147938True enough Adlab City could let Garcia run down his contract and it would cover City in that area for the coming season.
How motivated players are in that circumstance and the performances that you might get out of them is open to conjecture though.

Don’t think I said it about dybala ? but if I did I was wrong lol ?
Only two I can ever really remember about banging on about was Pogba and maguire chum But if I said dybala I hold my hands up
If Sancho doesn’t happen, I’ll never utter another word about a utd transfer chum

12th August 2020 at 5:52 am #148537Sean, I think you are wrong mate, everything is now pointing at Sancho staying at BvB. If he does go then the Zorc and the club itself will be a laughing stock and have to answer to very angry fans.
With his contract now being known to be until 2023 BvB are under no pressure to sell him. As far as I am aware he hasn’t caused any problems with the club’s decision.
Yeah he is an outstanding young player, 59 goals or assist in 66 games for his first 2 full seasons says so.

12th August 2020 at 8:06 am #148626Threeps, while I don’t think the move will happen, I take Zorc’s words with a pinch of salt. He’s got form for these tactics
2016: “Mkhitaryan will not be sold in this summer.”
2017: “Dembele has a long contract. He will definitely play with us next season.”
2018: “Aubameyang will stay until summer. His camp understands this.”
2020: “Jadon Sancho will play with us next season.”
Michael Zorc.
