So next season Messi will be coming to City on a free assuming Pep is stil there, talk about being stupid sell him now for an affordable fee than hanging onto him for 1 more season and then by the grace his free to leave for nothing.

6th September 2020 at 7:26 pm #165826Mak…Ido not think it will be a two horse race, I see 5 real conteners and an outsider and it will be close. Well, that is what I hope and at the same time I would like to see the teams with lesser chance in the bottom half giving a few shocks to those at the top with no more than 20 its between Top and bottom three, well I can only dream about it but we need a competitive league The European leagues are not competitive but they produce winners in Euro games…that is what they live for not there domestic affair

7th September 2020 at 11:42 am #165833AnonymousCheers 67, good to be back. Quiet on the Liverpool side though. Just waiting to hear any kind of update on Alcantara. I was starting to believe it then it just went silent. That is how we do business though, so have to be patient. You lads getting Havertz over the line is nightmare fuel for us. 8.5m in FPL, it’s tempting but I’m going to go for Pulisic, who i think will have a HUGE season. He made absolute shite of us the last time we played.

7th September 2020 at 1:59 pm #165835Pulisic and Werner may well be a lethal combination. Let’s hope that Chelsea and most likely also United close the gap a bit on the top two which will make for an exciting run in. Noted that two City players have been diagnosed with Covid-19. How does that impact on things. Do they and the rest of the squad have to self ilolate for 14 days? Will that cause a delay in City’s season starting and therefore also that of their proposwd opponents?

7th September 2020 at 3:38 pm #165840AnonymousWe haven’t even started and players are testing positive again. I hope it doesn’t impact City’s fixtures. Surely they can carry on without those 2, testing everyone else in his team daily, should make it safe.

7th September 2020 at 5:03 pm #165842AnonymousPulisic as an individual is probably the best footballer in the league very injury prone though, think Werner and he will make a potent pair if by the grace they stay fit.

7th September 2020 at 5:24 pm #165843AnonymousMust admit disappointed in City so far Noone of real note signed on, Aka I never rated and neither did Chelsea otherwise they would have kept him, would have loved to have seen Messi play with them he would have set the EPL alive, suppose he will BTG come to City next season for free.

7th September 2020 at 7:15 pm #165847AnonymousMourinho the idiot got rid of de bruyne, Salah and Lukaka he never rated them, all im saying Aka should not be the kind of player City should bring in, they by the grace need to do much better with new signings.

7th September 2020 at 8:54 pm #165850Chelsea have the best squad in the pl on paper for me
Their best window since Jose’s first season and they should be right up there this season.

7th September 2020 at 11:53 pm #165855AnonymousSean, they definitely have a good argument for one but let’s not take our back 5 for granted. We not only have top class players, we arguably have several of the best players in the world for their positions.
I grew up with an idea that Liverpool were an attacking team who needed to improve and over the various eras, that definitely changed but it’s this defence that has really sold me on the idea that a great team has a great defence. without our back 5 we win absolutely nothing and don’t come even close to anything.
As for Chelsea though, if those new players click at all well early on, they will probably contend for the title. Of course we have to get back to being solid, they will punish the hell out of us if we’re not at our best.
And ya, this is the most amazing transfer window for them. I’d have been over the moon if we just managed to sign Werner or Havertz but they’ve sign the 2 of them and more. Crazy stuff!
Everton are doing really well in the market also.

8th September 2020 at 6:55 am #165858Mourinho losing quality in Eriksen to Inter Milan and now they have decided he doesn’t fit the plans of Conte playing 3-5-2 and “want to cut their losses” and move him on. WTF maybe I am missing something but they got him on a free and now want to flog him off for 35 mil.

8th September 2020 at 7:01 am #165859Personally I think Conte made a mistake getting rid of Ake he’s very good technically although a bit suspect aerially.
He’s a left sided player who can also play left back and I think he will be a good addition to the City squad.
I’m not sure though whether City have finished buying yet and if they were to buy Koulibally for instance I wonder how many starts Ake will get albeit City will have a lot of games to play and it will give Pep more opportunity to rotate.
