Ed, on his day and fully fit, Bailey is an excellent player in my opinion
He’s just never fully fit. He can’t get a run of games to get fully fit or stay fit
I’d rate a fully fit Bailly who was performing well better then maguire
Sorry it seems like I’m akways bashing maguire but just look at him on Sunday. What was he at for the 1st goal? Much bigger issues then him at the bsck and not fully to blame for the goals but it was poor at the front post and not looking at the ball. I just don’t get him at all
Maybe he needs someone like kulbailu beside him.Bailey first came to my intention when Villarreal beat us 1-0 in 2016.he was a beast that day. He fast, strong, can tackle and not to bad in the air. He’s just injured to much

Yeah I rate Bailly as well Sean. Not getting into a Maguire debate again ?. I really rate Tuanzebe too but, like Bailly, he’s barely been able to play because of injuries. The less said about the others the better. Smalling, to be fair, is a very good defender too.

Always rated Smalling aswell . I’d have him over lindolf
Think we agree on jones. Really looked very good in 2011 but had really gone backwards. His confidence is shot

Not sure of bailey… like some due time injuries will just be one of those that never lived up to his potential… coming back from injury as a defender means you get less chance to ease in and can look bad

Is all this because the game has changed to more attack minded philosophies with bringing and passing it out from the back with less defined positions and more interchangeable options? All of the top clubs bar Liverpool have had problems defensively. Is it becoming a lost art?

Steve…I think the way Dortmund look at it is, they paid 8 million to City, they improved the player so now theywant a clear 100 million, so that is 108 million plus maybe 2 million for expenses.!!! They are in no hurry
