Not long to go… but not a lot to predict yet as most teams haven’t really got going on the transfer front…
Spuds have got rid of a few, bought a few, but I wouldn’t say we’ve really strengthend the first 11, the bench perhaps…
Don’t really like making predictions until the transfer window shuts properly, but I don’t see any of the other 18 threatening the 115 or the Goonies for the Top 2 spots… not yet at any rate!

28th July 2024 at 7:19 pm #215158Weird one looking back on reflection of last season as to how Liverpool even challenged for the Title right up to March. The number of injuries we had too that we carried for months.
Man City are the bench mark of course, but Arsenal so far have signed the new Italian defender and if anything, they are about to tighten further. If they can be that Chelsea team of 2004-05, it’ll be Arteta finally lifting the trophy.
Does Arne Slot get given a ‘free hit’ for this season? We are back in the CL, but a prediction to finish in the Top 3 looks good if we can strengthen and I do feel we need that Big Statement Signing like Gordon that could lead to a signing may 1 or 2 more good players.
Will De-Bruyne Leave?

29th July 2024 at 12:40 pm #215160I think KDB will stay but I think this will be his last season in the Premier League. I think he will take the Saudi money next season for a couple of years which will put him at 36 years old.
I also think KDB has been the best Midfielder that the Premier League has ever seen. Everyone always asks the question Lampard, Gerrard or Scholes as to who was the best. To me the answer is KDB. Never seen a midfielder with his passing ability and who nearly always picks the right pass or makes the right decision. Will be a big miss for City when he goes as I don’t think he is easily replaceable.

Utd English club should be winning. Disgraceful liverpool didn’t last season as no real great teams in itGeneral comments
Think spurs will struggle far to open. Concede to many goals. Villa in europe so i cant see then finishing top 6. Palace and weat ham to be the surprise teams. Good managers and west ham made good signingsNo idea what to expect from liverpool.4th be a good start for arnie considering all the changes. Think we lack some physicality in midfield and looks like gravenberch will start as 6.i think back 4 needs prooer protection.we have a good squad and jota be a huge plus if he stays fit which i highly doubt. Done with nunez who be gone in tye summer. We have to stop conceding goals. That’s one thing id love to see from arnie
Think arsenal will really run city close but fancy city. Utd will either start really poorly or hit the ground running. Not a fan of de ligt, is he going to stop utd conceding goals?great on the ball but not sure of him defensively , of course if utd are wide open like last year then tactics wont help him. Massouri very good buisness as can play either side and shaw cant be depended on. I believe in the football gods and eth was gone. They wanted him out which is ckear by talking to other managers but that coventry offside goal could be his mark robbins moment. Fa cup win saved him and if he continues the tactics hes using now then utd look much more solid. If he reverts to last seasons open midfield hes in trouble
Chelsea are a mess and be surprised if manager is still here come dec but stranger things have happened! Brighton will struggle with 31 year old manager and Brentford aswell. Will Ipswich be surprise package?

14th August 2024 at 10:41 am #215221Going to be optimistic here… 🙂

Don’t know, had to pick past the newly promoted sides, also think Everton, Palace (very likely to lose their 3 best players) and Brentford are going to struggle a bit too…Top scorer
Solenko (19 at Bournemouth who created nothing, reckon he’ll get 30 plus at Spuds 🙂 )Player if season
Son! Due another “steller” season, been a bit quiet the last two, and should spend all season on the “left” rather than the middle…. (or his legs have gone, dunno yet!)Signing of season
Yeah, not many to choose from, take the 5th on this oneDisappointing
115’s attempts to generally fuck about with the rules… Jammy Todgers still playing “fantasy” football and continually hitting the “re-set” button, can’t wait for all of this to come back and bit them in the Arsenal… can I say VAR already?Fa cup
AresnalLeague cup
SpudsEuropa
Spuds (yes, going for a Cup Double this year!)General comments
Not a huge amount of movement on the transfer market from the bigger clubs, agree with Waspy that Villa are going to struggle a bit this year. YooUtd to do better, but more to do with better luck with injuries more than anything else, West Ham my tip for surprise bought a lot of half decent players and filled out their squad balanced with a lack of Euro footy for distactions, fancy them getting Euro footy come May.
Not that fussed about the “Tittie Race” between the 115 and the Goonies… if anything would like to see the Goonies win it purely because it means the 115 won’t… they’ve almost taken over YooUts as the team I love to watch lose the most, that’s how bad they’ve got!
As for my Spuds being more open than my sisters (save Buffy from saying it!), I’m going to say it had better be worked on during summer, especially against set-pieces, and the back 5 are pretty settled now, along with that nice big lump from Bournemouth to help defend I think we’ll see an improvement there.
First Manager to Sacked:???? Going to be one of the newly promoted sides, innit?

14th August 2024 at 1:30 pm #215223Never understood what the fuss was abotu De Ligt… the simple fact that Eric Dier “usurped” him from the sausage munchers says it all, really…

14th August 2024 at 4:16 pm #215224Don’t usually respond to this sort of shit, especially as it’s so frequent from one or two, but you do know this is even more bollocks than the £1m cap on covid losses?

14th August 2024 at 4:22 pm #215225No bollocks intended alfie mate. If utd play like they have done againest city they will do very well. They looked much more solid in those two games. If Rashford van find form, hes unplayable. Goals utds worry but if they stop been so open and the change we have seen recently come into play then they can do well.
Im just not a fan of de ligt. Just my opinion chum

14th August 2024 at 4:46 pm #215227Aye I was wrong on that Alfie
Arsenal got £2m
Everton £8m and United £40m but it’s most definitely not bollocks and United haven’t done anything wrong other than good accounting, the disparity in claims allowed by the pl though leaves a lot to be desired
It’s an undesputed fact made in public available records in the states that without that and the £30 odd mill for the share sale you would have breached ffp….Definitely worth a mention and discussion me old fruit drop
Definitely think my mob missed a trick tho not for the first time
Same as Chelsea’s very creative ways to avoid a breach but within rules

14th August 2024 at 4:46 pm #215228No worries Sean, it was the Dier usurping De Ligt when they actually played alongside each other which is pure bollocks.
Huge question marks over him, but he is better than what we have, and will be cover until Yoro returns. Personally I’m more worried about his injuries considering our previous business with Bayern.
Cannot see where our goals will come from whilst Hojlund is injured, not sure Zirkzee is the answer, but we did create plenty against City so if that continues we should be ok.

14th August 2024 at 4:49 pm #215229And what else is billox? Has ten bob not signed 10 players most Dutch or played for him before
As to the new signings being any good only time will tell but at least they have been very active in the market and got deals done and early so big changes there at least

14th August 2024 at 6:14 pm #215231You said the other teams got £1m max, which I pointed out was wrong as Everton got £82m over three years. You are being selective with what period you are quoting figures for.
It was not £1m max, and Everton did claim £82m over three years, not £8m. As I have pointed out to you before. As you say, it’s an indisputable fact and a matter of public record.
The turnover of clubs comes into what can be claimed for covid losses, surely? Everton tried to claim over £200m worth of covid losses, on a turnover of less than that amount. Around half of their claim was rejected (as they claimed players were worth less due to covid).
Utd have a much larger turnover.

14th August 2024 at 6:24 pm #215233Alfie, you sensitive sausage, as you like fachts so much…
Kim 22 starts in 34 games…
Umpamencano 19 starts in 34 games…
Your boy 16 starts in 34 games…
Dier 13 starts in 17 games…Be the first to admit I didn’t watch every game, but it always seemed to be Kim playing when I did… your boy was “possibly” 3rd choice before Dier arrived and obviously 4th choice after…

14th August 2024 at 6:37 pm #215235You do realise he was injured for a huge part of the season before Xmas, right? Being injured made it impossible to play matches, that’s the downside of being injured. When fit, post Xmas, he started the majority of matches alongside Dier. None of this should be difficult to understand.
I don’t follow German football but even I know how upset the fans are with this sale.

14th August 2024 at 6:45 pm #215236So you’ve brought a crock then? LOL!!
Look, cyber chum, he’s just a player I’ve never been impressed with, and I’m just saying it was also Kim I saw partnering Dier whenever I saw Bayern play… which admittedly, wasn’t every week.

14th August 2024 at 6:46 pm #215237Even the manager clarified the position before their match with Madrid.
“At the moment, Eric Dier and Matthijs de Ligt are ahead (of Upamecano and Kim). They deserve to continue playing together. Matthijs has given the green light and can play tomorrow,” said Tuchel.
It’s a great story that De Ligt was fourth choice at Bayern, but it just happens to be complete and utter bollocks.
