19th October 2017 at 5:08 pm #6335He’s every right to park his bus – united had a few injuries beforehand and I think Jose didn’t want to have to outscore Liverpool in an open free flowing game.
I’m all for seeing some good defending and with DeGea in goal he will save one or two at least that mignolet would have let in, so he had to fancy his chances. He knows it’s more important in three or four away matches to avoid defeat (rather than lose by trying to win) and at Anfield his sides have always managed to stop Liverpool from building any momentum – and break up the flow of the game constantly.
I praised Rafa for doing it with Liverpool for years, especially away matches in Europe.
Joses comments are ridiculous but as nine says, gets prone to them. I don’t subscribe to the media genius tag though, he just likes to wind people up and irritate opposing fans whether he gains advantage or not.

19th October 2017 at 5:25 pm #6337Legends on the pitch, asshat’s off the pitch… love that one!!
From a Spud perspective, the first name that pops into my head is Glenn Hoddle!! Met him once, and all I can say is it’s true when they say you should never meet your hero’s! Also going to chuck in Ledders in the mix, never met him, but heard a lot of stories about him on the good old grapevine that would make your hair curl….
Struggling with a goalie, the only “qualified” goalie that springs to mind, half decent on the pitch and a bit naughty of the pitch, is (and I’ll apologize now! 🙂 ) is old Brucie Wobblylegs!

19th October 2017 at 5:44 pm #6339Hoddle and King were never hated by the opposition for being horrible off the pitch, so I can’t see them qualifying for this team. You’re going to have to do better than that, Chucky! Brucie is a possibility as the keeper, but was he that much of an arse? I guess fighting in the Rhodesian army probably resulted in some fairly questionable social politics, but he wisely kept that to himself when his football career took off. And the S** sting was surely just the usual shite from that rag.
Grobbelaar??Vacant Terry Ruddock Cole
Vacant Vacant Keane Giggs
Suarez Collymore
Manager – Mourinho
3 spots to fill…come on, Chucky, Jim, Brian. it can’t be all Liverpool, United and Chelsea surely!!

19th October 2017 at 5:53 pm #6340One man’s horrible is another man’s asshat!
Anyway, I would wager many of the above players would also be considered asshats on the pitch too by many… 🙂
Can we have Kyle Walker for RB? I really don’t like him…. LOL
How about Barton for midfield?

19th October 2017 at 6:10 pm #6341Joey Barton – genius, exactly what we are looking for in midfield! Kyle Walker? Nah…sorry!

19th October 2017 at 6:13 pm #6342Liverpool fans despised Neville didn’t they? Could we squeeze him in at RB? Fellaini next to Keane? Beckham would have been in with a shout after the red against Argentina but I think his reputation recovered a bit after that. Saying that, with all the things about him being desperate for a knighthood and those nasty emails recently, could that do it? Lee Bowyer possibly if we’re looking beyond the teams of posters on here…

19th October 2017 at 6:22 pm #6343I’d go for Goldenball’s over both Neville and Elbows to be honest. If the criteria were just playing for YooUtd then I could give you squads! 🙂
Don’t know anybody who dislikes Elbows either now I think about it, he’s more a figure of fun than anything else, bit like Ronald McDonald or Donald Trump without nuclear codes.

Dennis Wise

19th October 2017 at 6:35 pm #6346Normally, Goldie, I would agree but (can’t believe I’m gonna defend two Chelski lads, what is the world coming too?) but Vinnie is meant to be a bot of a diamond geezer off the pitch (are you thinking of his movies? LOL) and what did Costa ever do off the pitch to warrant a place in this team?
I mean, he went on strike to get out of Chelski, but I reckon all non-Chelski fans can completely relate to that! 🙂

19th October 2017 at 6:46 pm #6347I shall throw in a certain midfield philospher Joey Barton. Lest we forget Joeys roll call: Stubbed a cigar out in a junior players eye, beat up fellow player Osamar Dabo?? during training. Beat up a taxi driver. Beat up a teenage everton fan. Drove into a pedestrian in his car. Got done for assault in Liverpool. Numerous yellow and red cards on the field. Took part in illegal betting. Genuine all round nice guy! Gutted when he left us ? We also had a nice fella called Ben Thatcher who flattened Mendes with a flying intentional elbow. He really let our club down.

19th October 2017 at 6:47 pm #63489 – Terry and Cole are already in the team, but Jones and Wise I like…not really, you understand! But Costa I’m afraid, while an unpleasant chap hasn’t to the best of my knowledge slept with a colleague’s wife, shown racist tendencies, used an airgun on trainees, stubbed a cigar out on trainees, beaten up his girlfriend in a bar, deliberately ended an opponent’s career. We have particularly high, or should I say low, standards to qualify for this team. Wise had some incident with a cabbie if my memory serves me right, and Vinnie Jones was just a thug like the characters in his movies.
Ed – can’t have Neville for the same reasons as Costa, I’m afraid, and as my missus still like Goldenballs despite not supporting Manyoo, he is therefore disqualified also, so I think Wise, Jones and Barton fill the 3 vacant spots, though I’m still not happy with Brucie between the sticks.
So no Spuds, Chucky. Spurs always were too nice!!

19th October 2017 at 6:52 pm #6349banjo, opposition fans especially Liverpool fans hated Costa and the majority of Chelsea fans whilst acknowledging Costa as a great striker would have driven him to the Airport in the end.
Vinnie once got booked from kick off for kicking a Sheffield United player up in the air Dean Whitehouse I believe.
“When Wise went up to lift the FA Cup I was there” was was disliked by most opposition fans I think it was lifting all those Cup that did it and John Terry and Ashley are a no contest.
All bar Vinnie we’re great players for Chelsea I met JT a few times and despite all the tales he came across as a good lad and was great with the fans.

19th October 2017 at 7:00 pm #6351Do we get half of Ben Thatcher? Didn’t he play for the Spuds at some stage? Anyway, I volunteered a couple, you lot voted them out. What about Shilton in goal? He was a bit of scallywag of the field if I recall…
So, the team so far
GK: Wobblylegs (Shilton)
RB: Thatcher (Walker 🙂 )
CB: Terry, Ruddock?? (Ledders)
LB: Cole
Midfield: Wise, Barton, Keane, Giggs (Goldenballs)
Striker: Collymore & ????? (Sorry, but Gnasher & Costa were gits on the pitch, not really aware of anything off the pitch)Can’t say I’d go with Ruddock, pretend tough guy om the pitch and don’t remember anything off the pitch.

19th October 2017 at 7:05 pm #6352Goldie… I thought the thing was great on the pitch and prat off the pitch? Every who seems to dislike Costa is because he’s on the pitch shenanigans, same with Vinnie, nobody liked him on the pitch but don’t remember anything off the pitch for him.
Funny thing, I’ve also heard some great things about Terry too, which is a shame because he’s also let himself down on a fair few occasions.
As for Judas, I wouldn’t put him in this category. Sure, he did the dirty on us, and he has come out with some right nonsense since he retired, but hardly an asshat off the pitch.

19th October 2017 at 7:14 pm #6354Thatchers elbow on Mendes comes a close second to Keanes assault on Harland. Keane just seems to dislike everybody these days. Even seems to have issues with United the club that made him as a player.
