“Spurs are set to appoint a permanent successor to Jose Mourinho at the end of the season, but Glenn Hoddle believes the squad is packed with “average” players and “just not good enough” for the Champions League, regardless of who is in the dugout.” Standard 26/04

Well, one down… crap manager anyway, what’s he ever won?? 🙂

Not sure about the AJAX Kid, it’s a bit of a step up for sure, down to either Rodgers or Bielsa for me.

I think Rodgers is the best fit for Spurs in terms of how they like to play the game. But it would be a difficult decision for him. On one hand Spurs is obviously a bigger club and has the great new stadium. And as a manager you should want to keep climbing the ladder. But then at Leicester, he’s going to be at a club most probably in the CL next season and the club seems to be going places. And he looks to have a good relationship with the board. Would he leave that to have to rebuild Spurs under Levy?

It won’t be either biesla or rodger ram jet
            Or anyone inside English football
            Someone from the continent
How much have they had to pay Maureen? He must have the made the most money of anyone for being sacked

Stevo, see below from Football London.

              Bonkers or what!😊

Such is the nature of football management, high-profile sackings are usually followed by a sizable pay-out, to the managers themselves and their backroom staff.

Between having his contract terminated by Chelsea in 2007 and 2015, the three-time Premier League winner was sacked by Real in 2013, before United followed suit in 2018 – a year before his Tottenham arrival.

The cost of those early terminations is listed in the respective accounts of each of those English clubs in question, coming in at a combined total of £50.97million.

Handed £23.07million and £8.3million on the back of two sackings at Stamford Bridge, his severance package with United was worth around £19.6million.

The amount his Madrid departure cost the Spanish giants is not publicly available. However, if Real paid Mourinho his full salary, then it would have cost them £33.6million – based on new £11.2million terms that were cut short just 12 months after putting pen to paper on a contract extension at the Bernabeu.

According to reports this morning, the 58-year-old and Tottenham have agreed a severance package in the region of £15million, this time.

Why did Levy give him a four year contract?

Mikus he’s been chasing him for about 20 years……….. and he’s stupid.
I’d have Erik Ten Hag ,he has a history of player development at Ajax and
plays a style of football that would keep the fans on-side.

For some strange reason mourinho always gets a nice contract and then after a couple of years gets fired, think it’s weird they can’t see through this. It’s almost like he plans it, not that he needs the money. Watch it happen again.

“Harry Kane has described his relationship with Jose Mourinho as “a good match-up” and says he will use the experience of working with the Portuguese for the rest of his career.

Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham last week after their form nosedived from mid-December, but he helped to bring out the best in Kane, who is on course to be the first player to finish as top scorer and with the most assists in the Premier League.

Mourinho, who promised to take Kane “universal” during a meeting in the manager’s office shortly after his appointment in November 2019, allowed the England captain a free role and he has flourished when dropping deep.

“He is a fantastic manager,” Kane said after last night’s London Football Awards.

“He has managed the biggest players at the biggest clubs in the world. He came in with a real understanding of what he wanted. We had good conversations early on and that continued. I have always liked to drop deep, but the biggest change was to ensure people were running in behind if I was dropping deep.

“We just had a good relationship. I feel like my game has been evolving over the last three or four years anyway and it was just a good match-up. It was a shame that we could not go on and do better things or win any trophies, but I will take the experience I had with him for the rest of my career.”

Mourinho was dismissed with Spurs seventh in the table and out of the FA Cup and Europa League, while they lost Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final to Manchester City.

“If we win the last five games now and we get good results from other teams and we somehow get into the Champions League then, obviously, it will be a bit of a brighter note,” he said.

“But all in all, we know we have got to definitely improve going into next year if we want any chance of trying to compete at the highest level.” Standard 28/04

                        Interesting comments from Kane.

27, what’s your take on those comments , is he planning for next year at Spurs ??
He’s in a difficult position the money Levy would want for him limits his options,
I’ll stick my neck out and say I can’t see him playing for another English club.

Shiney, Hope you’re doing well mate.

I think you’re right Levy will be very reluctant to sell Kane to another PL Club and I think any PL Clubs will be reluctant to spend the kind of money that Levy is likely to ask for too which is bound to be unrealistic and then there are the problems with his ankles too..

I think if Spurs sign a quality Manager who appeals to Kane and Levy gives that Manager a decent transfer budget to bring in the players Spurs need then Kane will likely stay the question is will Levy do that?

I’m not sure Kane fancies a move to Europe or that the major Clubs have the funds to buy him without considerable sales by them.

But it’s getting very close to now or never for Kane.

More questions than answers but if I was a betting man I would put money on Kane still being at Spurs when then the Summer window closes. But it’s a very difficult one to call.

“The goal right now as a player is to win team trophies,” Kane said. “As much as this is great I want to win the biggest prizes as a team and we are not doing that.” Harry Kane after London Football awards last night.

I’m thinking along the same lines as you regarding a transfer, plus I’d love Harry to win some silverware for what he’s done for the club. It looks like my pick Erik Ten Hag 8/11 could be on his way which will be a good fit for Spurs, the crunch being can Levy find the money to back him, if not in 18 months time when ETH has’nt delivered a miracle we’ll be looking for the next manager and so it goes on !!!

I’m sure winning a trophy or two at Spurs would be more meaningful to Kane to winning them anywhere else. I do though fear Spurs are now being held back with Levy in charge and that’s the big change Spurs really need to make everything else is just sticking plasters. Cheers 9’s

Can see why chelsea and kane would want the move but what would it take for levy to sanction it?

Hell freezing over as Nine says? Formal transfer request from kane and only chelsea coming in for him with 100m might do it also

Kane would be my first choice as unlikely as it is, even with his injury record his goalscoring and assists year on year just top class
