Ed, I just donβt think any of the 3 sides going for the title are top, top level. I think City are still very good but have lost a few match winners in their team (I also think Aguero was better than Haaland in that regard as mad as that might sound). I think Liverpool have a spirit in the team but again lack match winners and do seem to be edging out games here and there. Arsenal again have a good spirit about them and are very solid but again lack the quality up top in big moments to turn games.
Out of the six head to head games between the 3 teams at the top of the table, 4 have ended in a draw, which I think demonstrates how little there is between them.
In terms of looking for a stat this season to gauge things – I would look to what I think Alex Ferguson said some years ago that the title winners canβt afford to lose more than around 3 games a season in the league.

5th April 2024 at 12:47 pm #213585Mikuis, ye i agree with some of that. We are not at the level when we won the league.
Aresnal seem the best team defensively which i think will be huge come the end of the season
Three excellent teams and its going to take 90+ points again to win the league. Thats mad numbers
All 3 teams are on tremendous runs
City blew away villa without 5 players. Were we are is absolutely remarkable considering all our injuries. Arsenal look just so strong .

5th April 2024 at 4:01 pm #213590I’ve noticed that I’ve often found myself cheering for Liverpool to win the league this season, even though I didn’t expect to. Out of the three teams competing, I think Liverpool is the most classy. Their fans have been down-to-earth and not boastful, unlike the fans of the other teams.
What surprises me is that Liverpool has had a lot of injuries to important players, but they’re still leading the league and have a good chance of winning. I think their manager, Klopp, should be named the best manager in the league. I don’t think the other two managers could have done as well with the challenges Liverpool has faced, especially with so many young players on the team.

5th April 2024 at 7:54 pm #213593The 1st pen was very, very soft, but the 2nd was deserved,Dalot was stupid to react that way.

6th April 2024 at 7:16 pm #213612You canβt get booked for being stupid. It either was a foul or it wasnβt. Fella took a dive which usually results in it not being a pen.
We were told there was a higher threshold in the box for a fouls following the Duko high kick on MacCallister a couple of weeks back and on Monday Howard Webb will tell us both were fully deserved penalties.

7th April 2024 at 9:10 am #213619Ye agree alfie. They are making it up as the weeks go on. Aresnal get pen yday when he gets the ball first but doku not given cause he got the ball???
The two pens for chelsea were very soft. 2nd one especially. The first antonys knee catches him but is now all contact a free? Itβs ridiculous and its ruining the game

7th April 2024 at 11:04 am #213620Kelleher deserves a lot of credit make no mistake for stepping up in the absence of Alisson, but can help but rue the goals he conceded in the Cup Tie.
Seems now a while back since it was March 17th. Could this be our lucky day? I think we’re going to need maturity at Right-back. The good news for is that Robertson is now in full-swing return. He can play on the left and Gomez can play right-side.
Bradley can be sub. Diaz, Salah and Nunez up top. I believe Endo should pass fit. If not, we have Gravenberch or Jones that can accompany Zobo and Macca.
Have to go for this one and really need to be First Class.

7th April 2024 at 12:18 pm #213623I just was going to post something along those lines Rover. It’s just sheer adrenalin driven by the rivalry, occasion and atmosphere.
Sean, I feel the same mate. The thing is though this season, ironically, we really haven’t played our best stuff. Look at the season when we beat them 5-0 at Old Trafford. We keep conceding then coming from behind.
If their crowd is rip-roaring, they’ll be loads of pressure applied with packed bodies. We need to be prepared to suck this up really smartly.
They are not themselves keeping cleaning sheets. Their defense can be cut-open and this is where we need our midfield to work their magic.

7th April 2024 at 12:30 pm #213624Endo I think is available and should start. So our 11 would be:
Kelleher; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Endo, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
