ATBA… furry muff, can’t say I’ve seen enough of him to really have an opinion on how good or bad he is, just going on the basis that he doesn’t seem to be able to hold down a regular starting spot (or even squad spot lately) at various clubs arguably smaller than our beloved Spuds.
As for Fernando, I think it’s rustiness more than anything else. Would agree we’re perhaps not playing to his strengths, but I think he deserves his chance, he’s been patient enough for sure. I have a feeling in my Finnish Firewater he’ll be on the score sheet again Saturday!

31st January 2019 at 4:37 pm #32609AnonymousChucky, at the end of the day WTF do I know about football , I hope it is a lack of game time for Fernando and I would be quite willing to receive the rough end of a pineapple if he scores the winner on Saturday.
Just Spurs luck, Newcastle doing some good business today.
Just in Barry Fry Peterborough Director of football has been suspended from all football and football-related activity for four months after he placed a bet on Peterborough to be promoted:
Met him a few times when he was at Barnet, nice bloke I thought._____________________________

31st January 2019 at 4:51 pm #32610Hightown, your usual objective views which are always worth reading.
I’ve always thought that City would win it and Liverpool would finish 2nd but I’m favouring Liverpool now.
When City faltered the impetus went to Liverpool but it opened up again with City’s win over Liverpool.
City were really poor v Newcastle and had Liverpool won last night and stretched the lead to 7 points like you I think it would have been a big psychological blow to City which would have been difficult for them to come back from it didn’t happen and that will have given City a bit of a boost but everyone would have expected wins for both City and Liverpool this week which would have left Liverpool 4 points clear when in fact given the results they are now 5 points clear. So better than expected despite the disappointment of the draw.
Currently I think Liverpool are favourites and as you say you would rather be in Liverpool’s position than City’s.
Liverpool looked very nervous last night if they can hold their nerve and don’t let City get too close to them I think they will win it but 5 points does leave the door ajar. Cheers 999

31st January 2019 at 5:07 pm #32612Hightown, yecthats it mate. No problem with the result but we looked very shakey at the back. That does concern me
Also the subs we brought in are not good enough and shows the lack of depth in the squad

31st January 2019 at 6:26 pm #32616Nil, absolutely mate just remember everyone would swap places with Liverpool currently and everyone will have an opinion on the title race some you’ll like some you won’t.
I remember in January 2015 when Chelsea were neck and neck with City for the title a 5-3 thumping at Spurs and everybody wrote Chelsea off but ultimately Chelsea won it by an 8 point margin.
Liverpool will imo win it providing they hold their nerve and don’t let City get too close.
My experience of winning the PL title is that you only enjoy a title win when it’s all over. Best of luck. Cheers 999

31st January 2019 at 6:39 pm #32617Sean, the City-Everton game has been re-arranged for next week. So they have the opportunity to close the gap, albeit having played a game more

31st January 2019 at 6:41 pm #32618Sean, I donβt think you can predict any game at the moment. Most of the top 6 teams are stuttering in their own way for a variety of reasons.

31st January 2019 at 7:09 pm #32620Hightown @3:16 indeed yes mate. I brought something here I experienced whilst watching them live last season as some of their fans expressed their angst towards Liverpool and had a clear expectation of their own team turning us over.
I know we had Mignolet in goal at the time and we narrowly won 3-2, but even though they are a bit of a tough nut to crack I felt we were convincing this term at the King Power. Puel might have gone in feeling confident last night and have noticed in relation to the draw, Leicester the only team outside the TOP 6 we’ve dropped points against so maybe that’s telling us something.

31st January 2019 at 7:15 pm #32622People are forgetting about spurs. They have a good of fixtures coming up and could be 2nd on sat. Picking up league wins without Kane. I wouldnβt rule them out

31st January 2019 at 7:15 pm #32623Sean, that’s true mate. We don’t play though till Monday so we can relax a bit but like you say, I fully expect City to be back on track.
I think Unai Emery is still trying to find his way as far as the Premier League goes and he needs I’m sure to be able to bring his own stock of players. At best maybe the Gunners could steal a draw, but we’ll have to wait and see.

31st January 2019 at 7:24 pm #32626I literally just finished watching the Spuds/Watforjd game (just the 2nd half mind) and we absolutely deserved that, and if we play like that Saturday, pretty confident. Fernando wasn’t too bad at all (apart from the miss!) you could see the team starting to play to his strenghts, Rose was looking like something from 2 years ago, Dinksy Winksy was great (he is going to be some player I reckon!). Perfect response to the 2 Cup games…

31st January 2019 at 8:12 pm #32630Chucks you lot certainly are flying under the radar, I just feel that like us you don’t have the depth to go the distance.
Mak yeah mate I’m uncomfortable with some saying we are favorites, I don’t see it that way at all. If we were playing like we did a lot last season I’d say we will take some catching but we are barely scraping by & have been pretty lucky a few times & with injuries now becoming a concern I think we will struggle to go the distance. I obviously hope I’m wrong, I’d love nothing more than that long awaited title._____________________________

31st January 2019 at 8:40 pm #32632Oz, it seems all us guys (Pool fans on here) are singing from the same hymn sheet as far a ‘Title talk’ goes – (I’m cautious just typing the words haha π ).
I do feel though mate the more intense and extensive period of games are behind us. Though a tricky Feb and March are on the horizon our we’ll have more players recovered from injury. I’m hoping if Ox pulls though, he’ll be like a new signing for us.
The one thing sort of to our advantage whilst we’re at the top with the 5 point lead is that games are depreciating. If we’re still there with half our 14 games gone, then who knows mate.
