Former ‘keeper David Seaman believes Sarri must stick with the Spaniard for the sake of Chelsea’s top-four hopes. ‘If Chelsea aren’t going for the top four it’s an easy decision but they are, so they’ve got to play their best team,’ Seaman said. ‘It may show a bit of a weakness in Sarri but Kepa should play.’

26th February 2019 at 1:33 pm #34366Alfie, your assertion based on the Kepa incident is that “How can he possibly take training or give another team talk?” On that basis he would have to be sacked or resign my point is that Sarri’s problems at the Club go back much further than the Kepa incident and if he resigns or is sacked it will have very little to do with the Kepa incident.
Additionally”Yet, now that he has rolled over and had his belly tickled by the club, how can he possibly go elsewhere and demand the respect of the players when he inevitability gets the boot from Chelsea at the end of the season?” Seems to suggest the sack to me Alfie.

26th February 2019 at 1:52 pm #34372Of course they are going to back the goalie, they spent £72m on him ffs! Even if they wanted to get rid of him,who is gonna pay that sort of £££ for him? And they are stuck with him till the summer,@ least.

26th February 2019 at 2:09 pm #3437326/02 @7:07am “writing is on the wall for Sarri”
26/02@910am “a manager hanging by a thread”
26/02@1:18pm “when he inevitably gets the boot from Chelsea.”Apologies if I have misread the implications of what you were saying Alfie.?

26th February 2019 at 2:22 pm #34377I really don’t have a problem with the negative predictions on Sarri’s potential sacking the only point I was making is that should it happen it is much wider and a lot deeper than just the Kepa incident.

26th February 2019 at 2:31 pm #34380AnonymousI’d forgotten just how obtuse this forum could be. No wonder it hasn’t grown.
You have missed out the original question, 9, but i guess that is deliberate?
“Apologies 9, a lot has been written about the incident and I haven’t read it all, but who is saying that Sarri is going to get the sack because of Kepa?” BECAUSE OF KEPA.
Write that down, look at it, say it over and over – BECAUSE OF KEPA.
The fella can get the sack, or resign, and it not be because of Kepa. If you really don’t understand that then you are beyond all help.
That’s me done on Chelsea. Just pathetic. And endless.

26th February 2019 at 2:42 pm #34381Alfie you responded to the quote I put up from Pat Nevin as below
“It will be dealt with internally and if not forgotten, its importance will soon fade. I think everyone at Chelsea can spot a bandwagon and even a witch hunt a mile away by now, so we move on.” Pat Nevin.
“Equally though everyone outside of the Chelsea payroll and fan club can see a whitewash and a manager hanging by a thread with no respect of the players and support of the club.”
So it was directly linked to Kepa as was your response to Nil @ 7:07am which was also directly linked to Kepa
You know it was all linked to Kepa I know it was all linked to Kepa and that you have a negative opinion of me and an unhealthy dislike for Chelsea.
“That’s me done on Chelsea” would be great but I will believe it when I see it.
Anyway we’ve reached an unlikely agreement now “The fella can get the sack, or resign, and it not be because of Kepa. ” ?

26th February 2019 at 2:58 pm #34386“I need to send a message to my group, whether Kepa is on the pitch or off it,” Sarri told reporters, when asked if Kepa would start against Spurs.
“I have to decide what is better for my group.
The Chelsea hierarchy took the decision to fine Kepa, Sarri revealed.
The 60-year-old added: “I spoke with the goalkeeper, with Kepa, of course. Then we spoke altogether, because he said sorry to the technical staff, but it was not enough.
“Then he said sorry to his team-mates, to the club. I think he made a big mistake, but we need to be taller. We don’t want to kill him. So there is a position from the club.”
Sarri initially interrupted questions on Kepa, insisting not everyone was interested, saying: “Everybody? No. In my family, no.”
Sarri does not believe the incident undermined his authority.
He added: “No, because after yesterday for me the situation is finished. He is a young player, he made a mistake, but stop.
“I am sure he understood he made a really big mistake. For me it’s finished.” From Sarri’s pre match press conference v Spurs.

26th February 2019 at 3:12 pm #34387Smoked Kipper or not, Sarri is a gooner, no doubt about it, just a question of when, not if!!
So, who’s next to roll up to West London to top up their pension for a year or… no, a year, before they get one with the rest of their career?? I think Le Headbutt would be great entertainment for the neutrals to be honest, and quite frankly, can’t think of anybody else…

26th February 2019 at 3:27 pm #34388If Sarri goes I wouldn’t be against ZZ although I’m not 100% sure but if he talked Hazard and CHO into staying and was given the alleged £200m plus monies from player sales in the Summer window it would be interesting but it might all just be paper talk.
I would like Sarri to be given until the end of the season to see what he can achieve and review it then but I can see Sarri being sacked and an interim Manager appointed if results don’t go in our favour.
The Club needs CL football and there are two still opportunities to achieve that through the PL and the EL and if the Club think Sarri can’t achieve it and on reflection was the wrong appointment and changing to an interim Manager might achieve it then they might well make the change.

26th February 2019 at 3:42 pm #34391Having read all these replies, think I’m with Alfie on this.
Seems like a guard is instantly put up when putting forward forthright opinions on Kepa and Sarri.
My disgust really is on the actions of the player and the impact he had on the rest in a moment of madness.
He lost the shootout for me when the other keeper would have been perfect.
Sarri unfortunately won’t be a long-term plan. My argument has been that from the outside, this really doesn’t look good to try and attract a new club manager.

26th February 2019 at 4:09 pm #34396Don’t think anybody is saying Sarah has been done purely on Kipper-gate, final nail in his coffin perhaps, but not just because of that.
Hmm… can’t help thinking what La Headbutt would do if Kipper gives him the finger… please let it happen, please let it happen… 🙂
