I would have been furious had a Chelsea defender done what Dier did and he gave the Ref no choice but to award a penalty.
Chelsea shouldn’t have needed the penalty though they completely dominated the first half and Tuchel has to work on the players taking their chances.

5th February 2021 at 5:08 pm #1748149, I thought the first half was very good, moving the ball forward, quickly with purpose, second half we started to go back to the way we played under Frank, the way they try to pass the ball around in our own box is not a comfortable watch, and we could quite easily have come unstuck. Out of interest 9 how relaxed were you when they were doing so?…..Pagan

5th February 2021 at 5:49 pm #174815999, Sean, Mikus,
This F.. up is down to Levy alone, he has wanted Jose for years, only for him to go to Chelsea & United and we all know how that ended. He had no hesitation in sacking Poch as he knew Jose was on the dole and he finally got his man.
The Spurs lads I’ve known since the mid 1960’s fully “get ” Spurs place in the EPL, never going to win it, hope to win an occasional cup and still get an erection watching the CL semi against Ajax. We know we don’t have the pulling power to attract the best players on the market ,and yes we are extremely jealous of City, Liverpool, United , Chelsea’s transfer and wage budget and have lived for ages under Arsenal’s shadow until recently.
Spurs expectations are historically low, however the supporters have been placated by the way the team has played.
With our current manager even that is a distant memory, yes we are in the Carabao Cup final but has someone had a word with Lords to borrow their scoreboard.
Jose out._____________________________

5th February 2021 at 5:49 pm #174816Pagan, I think the first 20 minutes or so of the second half was a reflection of Spurs improving after Mourinho dug into Spurs at ht.with Chelsea having been completely dominant in the first half but unfortunately the score line didn’t reflect that which is hopefully the next step.
Like you though I do get a bit nervous with the ball possession at the back especially at only one nil up. But Rome wasn’t built in a day and I think we are going in the right direction under Tuchel.

5th February 2021 at 7:21 pm #1748249, the signs are good, if Tommy Tickle can get Tiny Weener a goal or two then his confidence will soar and heโll probably gain another yard of pace, which will terrify defenders. Very happy with the increase in pace going forwards, but the work when the opposition have the ball is a massive change in culture, with Mount leading the way in this….Pagan

6th February 2021 at 10:35 am #174850Sad days shiney
You need a new manager and better owners we at least need better owners or a better run club! We have wasted so much money and have to much dross on high wages we canโt shift or lose huge amounts on …. but I do feel things are changing slowly
At least we might compete in a season or two …. maybe ๐คฃ_____________________________

7th February 2021 at 7:44 am #174895Wasn’t Ferguson who has more experience than Lampard in charge of Everton and other teams, his taken a step backwards when Ancelotti came in and it’s working well. Lampard took the big step too early he know needs a small backward step for a while.

7th February 2021 at 8:02 am #174898AnonymousWhat you talking about it was Chelsea who wanted and persuaded Lampard to leave Derby and come manage Chelsea. Chelsea made him lose both jobs. They surely must have known it was too early for him to manage a big club with those kind of pressures and unrealistic expectations.

7th February 2021 at 8:35 am #174899Blaze, Ferguson was interim Manager at Everton for a few months whilst Lampard led Derby to a Play Off Final in his first season prior to managing Chelsea for a season and a half so no Ferguson doesn’t have more experience than Lampard.
It was always a risk appointing Lampard the Club knew it was a risk and Frank knew it was a risk but it was a risk worth taking at the time given all the circumstances personally I think Frank should have been given more time.
There is no way that Frank would have stepped back to being an Assistant to Tuchel he wants to be a No 1 whilst Ferguson has no managerial ambitions and is happy to be an Assistant at Everton.
It’s done and dusted now and Frank will paddle his own Canoe hopefully something comes up for him in the Summer we can only wish him well.

7th February 2021 at 8:40 am #174900Moos, I don’t think Frank had to be persuaded to come to Chelsea he knew the risks if things didn’t work out.
Frank’s a smart guy and he went into it with his eyes wide open.

7th February 2021 at 10:51 am #174902Frank did well at Derby, however the talk from Derby was always that Jody was the coach and Frank was the face, add to that that Derbyโs best 3 players from his season were Mount, Tomori and Wilson, who were all on loan. The other talk was that the players all liked Frank but it was them that carried the team as the tactical leadership was lacking.
Whilst Frank was a great player and comes across as a nice bloke, he may not have the strong leadership skills and charisma needed to be a great manager. He also may need to realise that he needs to learn his trade, he didnโt just walk into the West Ham Team as 17 year old, heโd had to learn his trade else where.
Iโd still like to see a club, any club to be honest, to start identifying players that may have the qualities to be good manager and try to develop them, maybe as youth team coaches first and then send them out on loan to foreign and lower league clubs to learn……Pagan

7th February 2021 at 11:01 am #174910JT seems a more of a different personality. Somebody I think that will be very supportive and encouraging to the younger players.
