Lucky, be interesting to see who Spurs sign in January and how many are truly top quality players.
If I was a Spurs fan given Spurs aren’t particularly flush with money and I suspect will almost certainly be borrowing further to buy I would prefer Conte to keep his powder dry until the Summer when there will be more quality and better choices available.
What Conte spends now will imo impact on what he can spend in the Summer and if he doesn’t get his own way in the Summer history tells us that the toys will be coming out of the pram.π
I suspect Newcastle will try and be the busiest Club in January but they are drinking in the last chance saloon and have to be. Who they can convince to join them given where they are will also be very interesting.

That’s true nine but if I were conte I would go all in on trying to get top 4 this season if possible as it may be even harder next season given the position they are in now ie just 4 points from 4th with 3 games in hand and January window to come.
It is notoriously difficult to sign players in January but I can see conte pushing for anyone he thinks can add to spurs top 4 charge this season. Can imagine a few 30+ year olds coming in. We shall see, but imo he is not thinking long term he wants top 4 as soon as possible.

Yes Lucky I can understand the temptation and Conte is very much a today Manager primarily because he doesn’t go further than two years.
I think Conte might focus on Italian players initially but we’ll see.
It’s going to be an interesting January window to watch.
I still think United are the most likely for 4th place because they have the strongest squad and I think they might try and sign a player or two in January too as Rangnick is desperate to prove he’s the long term solution at United.

Not so sure, Puppyov, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see 3/4 top draw players coming in January to the mighty shiny space ship… there’s certainly going to be a fair few going out with the old “loan-to-buy” scam currently vogue going on… one or two nominal fees for players out of contract in the summer and perhaps one or two in the 30/40 million pound bracket… of course, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen, but Spuds could do the above and end up with a positive net spend!
Don’t forget, under FFP rules, Spuds are about the richest club in Engerland at the moment, with somewhere in the region of about 400 million “available” to them if they choose to go bonkers…
(And yes, I’ll say it for you, Levy, short arms, deep pockets… etc!! π )

What you can spend Chucky to keep you within FFP doesn’t make you “about the richest Club in England” if you don’t have the money see below.
Spurs can try and sell some of the players Conte doesn’t want Delle Ali for instance to prop up the transfer budget but I doubt Spurs will get that much more than Β£20m for him.
3/4 really top players would probably cost Spurs circa Β£150m/Β£200m the proof will be in the puddingbin terms of who Conte can get but imo what Conte spends in January will effect what he can spend in the Summer but we’ll see.

Ye look at Everton and Brighton teams last night. Itβs unfair.
All games should be off at the weekend and hopefully Boxing Day fixtures can go ahead. Lock all clubs down, isolate those who are sick etc

Thanks for that info Nine, I will say though in our case, we can’t afford it. Or at least, we couldnt. With covid coming back, I’d say they will play cautious this window too. I dont expect a single signing.
I have to say, I had other things going on today, I was half watching the game and didnt realise that we were without Van Dijk and Fabinho. After Salah, they are our 2 best plauers.

That goal stands and although they need protection for head injuries, it is up to the ref to make the call and with only seconds between the incident and the goal.. come on Newcastle, what are they upset about?
EDIT : Was there even a head injury? They need to reprimand that player if there wasn’t cause you shouldnt take advantage of a rule that is only in place to protect the health of players. It should really be a banning offense.
