3rd December 2021 at 7:45 am #190496I mean, I’m not saying Partey is good Steve but he was certainly highly regarded at a very good Atletico side. Arteta has spent a lot of money and needs to start delivering now. I’d be very disappointed if we didn’t finish above this Arsenal side but Rangnick has a big job on his hands in a very short space of time.

3rd December 2021 at 7:48 am #190497Have to say though, Ramsdale has really impressed me. I think he’ll be England’s number 1 at the World Cup.

3rd December 2021 at 8:08 am #190499Ah nine itβs a close game away from home and Arsenal just donβt have the balls. Ye silly mistake but thatβs Arsenal
Partey was excellent at athletico. As Ed says Arsenal have spent loads of money and they are a soft touch big time. Few wins against teams they should be beating and done got carried away. They are a poor team

3rd December 2021 at 10:22 am #190501Arsenal worked the ball well in the middle of the park which I was impressed because they actually pass the ball with as well as Martinelli. They need to be more clinical at the top and of course, they still lack steel.

3rd December 2021 at 10:25 am #190503Some media outlets are still preaching the narrative that Rangnick turned down the Chelsea job. What significance does that has now? No team would have picked Rangnick over Tuchel if both were available. I doubt if even United would have gone for him if they knew Tuchel was available at the same time. We needed brave men at the helm and we got one there. If you don’t feel you can’t do anything in that time, someone else came and did a great job within that period.

3rd December 2021 at 11:18 am #190504YB, Rangnick didn’t want to come to Chelsea at the end of January on a short term contract until May which was all that was on offer from Chelsea at the time the offer from United is a much better one for Rangnick personally. But it really doesn’t matter.

3rd December 2021 at 11:25 am #190505Sean, Arsenal a long way away from the top 3 currently but they’re going at it a different way in buying young players and planning for the future will it work maybe maybe not but if it is to work we won’t see the best of Arsenal for a couple of seasons imo.
United have their own problems but they have the nucleus of a good side with a bit of tweaking let’s see what Rangnick can do in the short term I think they’re better than their recent results and current position and the next few months will be an interesting watch if Rangnick improves them as well he might I can see United potentially sticking with him.

3rd December 2021 at 1:49 pm #190512How long is Arteta there though nine? Is he going to get a few seasons if Arsenal are not going to cl football? Heβs not delivering now and I canβt see that changing to be honest mate
Iβve no doubt Ragnick will get the new manager bounce especially with utds next run of fixtures and everyone will go overboard about great Ragnick and he will get a contract. Nothing surer mate. I can see utd getting top 4 as everyone else hoovering around there Is not exactly brilliant

3rd December 2021 at 1:49 pm #190513Lucky,
No Chelsea fan or the club are moaning about Rangnick turning us down. In fact everyone would have chosen this scenario if asked today. So the pro United media is trying the paint Chelsea an an attractive club to the managers. Keep going guys. Chelssea has no time for senstiments. #Tuchel at the wheel.ππ

3rd December 2021 at 2:00 pm #190514I’m not so sure Sean. The way he wants to play is totally different from how we’ve been playing. This Utd team run probably the least in the league and Rangnick’s team’s are usually the hardest working in the league. There’s a massive discrepancy there. Either he or the team need to massively move away from what they know.
Young_blue, pro Utd media? π. Have you not been reading any news for the last 3 years? We’ve been hammered from every corner going for the Ole circus and rightly so.

3rd December 2021 at 2:00 pm #190515I must admit, I did find it funny, the second Rangnick was a sure thing for Utd, he was being reported as some sort of footballing Sith Lord, who was the actual mastermind behind pressing football, with Klopp and Tuchel, nothing more than his proteges.

3rd December 2021 at 2:03 pm #190517Sean, I suspect the Arsenal recruitment of youth in the transfer market comes from above Arteta and if Arteta can’t cut it they will bring someone else in who they think can cut it.
Young players though will always be inconsistent in the beginning.
It’s a brave strategy by Arsenal it might not work out but they do have a plan.
Agree with all you say re United.

3rd December 2021 at 2:03 pm #190518It’s silly Harry. The press do the same with Bielsa who is held up as some kind of god-like figure by Poch and Pep, yet neither Bielsa or Rangnick have won much. No idea why they get so obsessed with certain managers. Never understood it with Bielsa and won’t believe it about Rangnick until he starts delivering.

3rd December 2021 at 2:12 pm #190520YB, it’s not difficult to understand the Chelsea offer to Rangnick as interim Manager wasn’t attractive enough for him because of the limited time limit. I’m not sure why you’re so focussed on it anyway it’s all yesterday’s fish and chip paper now.
“When Chelsea contacted me they only spoke about the option to become interim manager for four months, without any perspective to work in the long term together. Here now, we are talking about six-and-a-half months, so we only have one third of the games played in the Premier League. As you all know, we have also agreed upon a two-year advisory role as well, after those six-and-a-half months, in the end, when a club like Manchester United contact you, you can’t possibly turn it down.”
