Shiney-You are playing 2nd best football in the league, its counter attacking style, nothing wrong with that.So much football left to be played, rest assured nobody is running away with the league this season.

19th December 2020 at 7:59 am #172397Mav, I’ll wait to the end of the season, If Jose wins a trophy it might make up for the dismal football, but if he doesn’t ,I’m not sure the faithful will we be too happy.

19th December 2020 at 8:27 am #172398Shiney, I think Jose could release the handbrake a tad for instance v teams like Palace last weekend etc but Jose got his tactics spot on v Liverpool and arguably with a bit more luck Spurs would have left Anfield with at least a point.
Klopp would have relished Spurs playing an open game as it would have played into Liverpool’s strengths given their pace in transition and the ability of their attacking full backs.
I think there’s every chance of Spurs winning a domestic Cup this season and Spurs look assured of a return to the CL too. Cheers 9’s

19th December 2020 at 8:57 am #172399I donโt agree nine. Spurs game plan didnโt work because they lost mate. The exact same thing was said in jan when we beat spurs 1-0. It nearky worked. I could totally understand if we had our proper back 4 but it was a huge opportunity for spurs to really get a win at anfield.
We can be got at. Itโs not about being open . Itโs about getting on the ball and trying some different for one game. We had a 19 year old playing his 1st pl
Game againest Kane and son. A midfielder playing centre back and a right full who clearly isnโt fit.Anyone playing Liverpool now should be having a real go at them. The same with city. Both teams can be got at bigtime

19th December 2020 at 11:58 am #172407Tbh I think the frustrations re spurs atm from oppo fans is more about the realisation that with a bit more time this really could work for Jose and he could win the league playing this way. If there was no threat people would be laughing not angry.

19th December 2020 at 12:14 pm #172408No not really lucky mate.
Iโm just talking about one game. One game he could have tried something different againest a very vulnerable Liverpool defence
Huge opportunity missed in my opinion

19th December 2020 at 1:13 pm #172419AnonymousLD, only thing Im “angry” about regards Spurs is the dodgy challenges and Kane’s strange, dangerous antics. But I put angry in quotes cause now that we’re so far away from that match, Im back to not caring.
They are a quality side though and you’re right, with some improvements they definitely could win the PL at some stage. Son and Kane was world class, build on that and you never know.

19th December 2020 at 1:19 pm #172422Sean wasn’t trying to rationalise your individual opinion mate.
Regards your opinion though, if you think dier, Toby, Davies and aurier could be trusted to cope against pools forward line in one v ones and spurs could outscore pool playing more aggressively thats fine, but I completely disagree, I think statistically speaking Jose’s game plan turned what was an odds on pool win to a 50 50 game in second half, that is an achievement which you are within your rights to deny if you want. Jose is no mug mate, he plays in a very rational and pragmatic way. If your opinion was sound and he had a higher probability of winning playing differently then we wouldn’t be having this argument because he would have played that way, thats my opinion.
Remember his 3rd title with chelsea in second spell, we started the season playing amazing offensive footie, the 3-6 away to Everton was a prem classic, he only went defensive in second half when teams started to outplay us, ie spurs hammering in new year, the decisions to play very offensive at start and then to become more Conservative were both made because at the time Jose calculated that they gave us higher probability of getting wins. That is all its about, not losing is the second objective but Jose is a winner mate.

19th December 2020 at 1:31 pm #172425Lucky ye good points actually about spurs back line. I was really only thinking of spurs coming at us but I still believe if they were braver, there could have been w different outcome
Totally agree about Jose. One of the best managers the works has ever seen but I also believe Joseโs troubles started at Chelsea when ballsck and schvchenko were signed
Chelsea played some fantastic attacking football in his 1st two seasons. Duff,Cole, roben, drogba etc
You would know more then me mate as your a Chelsea fan but I thought Joseโs downfall at Chelsea coincided with him becoming more negative ???

19th December 2020 at 1:54 pm #172430Sean, we went defensive in second half season to secure the title. Jose’s downfall in second spell was trusting his squad to come back in shape physically and mentally after rewarding them with extended break after winning title. We couldn’t put together a good run however he set us up to be fair the players were dreadful
