Nil, everything in football is cyclical and teams will dominate for periods of time – anything up to 20 years, as in United’s case under SAF. However, all periods of dominance come to an end. In City’s case, we are at a huge crossroad when Pep leaves (hopefully for us not for a few years yet). He is a genius of a manager, in my eyes the very best in the world at present; he’s an innovator (of tactics, that most others try to copy), great man-manager and unbelievable developer of talent – no one (who knows about football) would deny that – almost to a man, he makes them better players.
People go on and on about money and undeniably we used our financial muscle, certainly in the first 5/6 years of the Sheikh, to get ‘on the ladder’, so the speak. However, since Pep was appointed, we’ve bought players that would fit Peps plan – in the past two years, our net spend is around +Β£50m – purchases including, Grealish, Haaland, Akanji and Alvarez. And before anyone jumps in, I appreciate Haaland’s overall package is a lot more than the Β£51m we paid as a transfer fee.
What I’m saying Nil, is don’t take things so seriously, have faith in your own team. Klopp is a great manager and with a few good signings in the summer, I have no doubt you’ll be up there fighting for the title again next year. And as I pointed out, Pep isn’t going to be with us for ever._____________________________

27th April 2023 at 9:01 pm #206564I think Spurs looked like they had a bit more about them today than usual Sean but yeah they’re not great at all.

27th April 2023 at 9:15 pm #206565I still don’t think we were convincing yesterday, but we somehow grinded out a win away from home.
Spurs I’m sorry to say are woeful and freefall. Surely one would think the odds would be stacked for us this Sunday.
Man United and Newcastle deserve their places and in probable of sealing these albeit dropped points and an outsider on a consecutive winning run.

27th April 2023 at 9:18 pm #206566Luke Shaw has been a revelation at CB. Would never, ever have imagined he’d do a job at CB in a back 4.

27th April 2023 at 9:19 pm #206567Think Everton could be in real trouble if they lose this.

27th April 2023 at 9:33 pm #206570Ed, took the words out of my mouth. One of the Teams of the season. I’m just impressed with the amount of goals scored away from home, WOW!

27th April 2023 at 9:33 pm #206571Utd could do an Arsenal and throw this away if we’re not careful. Don’t underestimate the new manager bounce which keeps catching us out this season.

27th April 2023 at 9:34 pm #206572Everton would probably be playing for their lives by the time they face Man City at Goodison.

27th April 2023 at 9:34 pm #206573Ref is a disgrace. How is that goal given when he gave Casemiro off side in the first half when it went out for what should have been a corner and no one was near him. No consistency.

27th April 2023 at 9:54 pm #206576Really is poor to let this Spurs side back in. We fell asleep in the second half. As expected, they suddenly remember how to play football with a new manager π. So predictable

27th April 2023 at 10:10 pm #206577Great game. Spirited come back from spurs who were absolutely shocking first half. Ten hagg makes sone conservative subs at times. Utd the much better side in first half. Surprised lindolf not sent off for that foul. Definite 2nd yellow but enjoyable game. Utd created some great chances and really should have won

27th April 2023 at 10:12 pm #206579Feels like a defeat. Should have been out of sight in the first half. Crazy subs and some poor individual play in the second half.

27th April 2023 at 10:20 pm #206580Some goal scorers must be top priority for Utd in the summer? One of the lowest goals for in the top half of the table.

27th April 2023 at 10:24 pm #206581That’s what you get Mikus when your main striker (Martial) hardly plays all season and your cover is an on loan failed Burnley striker π. Rashford can’t do it all from the left, albeit he was central today.
We must be on some kind of record for coming up against new managers though. Seems to happen all the time.
