14th September 2022 at 9:44 pm #199047Of course it leaves you ‘dumbstruck’ Darren Fletcher, because both those goals were extra-ordinary and that’s the hidden tonic that has to be unearthed to find a way out.

14th September 2022 at 10:07 pm #199049No need for the ‘afters’ from Pep; second time I’ve seen him basically contest the Ref till he proves he is right. He’s won the game; just shake his hand and move on, with grace.

14th September 2022 at 10:41 pm #199050Huge respect to the City fans for impeccably observing a full 90 minutes silence ππ That Rangers tribute was something else. Classy stuff from them.
Not the greatest performance from them but you’ve always got a chance with Haaland up top. No idea what the keeper is doing for Stones’ goal. Should be saving that all day.
Chelsea should still have enough to get through this group. Potter will no doubt need a while to get his ideas across.

15th September 2022 at 6:23 am #199052What we thinking? Poch or Tuchel to Juventus? Allegri is a dead man walking. They say you should never go back and he’s potentially put a real dent in his prospects from here on. Before going back, he was linked to the likes of the Madrid job.

15th September 2022 at 7:39 am #199053Fantastic never say die performance from City against a very dangerous team, 2 fantastic outrageous goals to add.

15th September 2022 at 7:57 am #199054They remind me of a Blue United and I’ve been saying this for a while; they somehow find a way like the United of the late 90s and early 00s. Haaland is the X Factor though. They’ll win the League and possibly go all the way with the CL.

15th September 2022 at 8:00 am #199055You have to try something different and be spontaneous. But is that licensed in training and thereafter on the pitch?
The outside of the boot pass I rarely see. That’s something Maradona would do, or a Brazilian or a player from Barcelona.
Dribbling and running at defenders taking them on and beating them opens up space. If you’re trying to carve an opportunity using the same method time and time again, of course you’ll be sussed out by the opposition and it’s no surprise then when your result ends a stalement.

15th September 2022 at 8:07 am #199056Good comeback from City another goal for Haaland this really could be their year.
A much better performance from Chelsea unfortunately not the required win it will take time to get back to where we want to be.
A perfect tribute to the Queen at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea Pensioners laying wreaths an impromptu singing of the National Anthem and a perfect minutes silence where you couldn’t hear a pin drop.
Unnecessary and disgraceful banners from Celtic fans on display in Poland which caused BT Sport to apologise for them it’s a shame the cameras picked them up and the press printed pictures of them they were best completely ignored.

15th September 2022 at 8:09 am #199057Ed, I think Tuchel would be a good fit at Juve.

16th September 2022 at 9:47 am #199078“Antonio Conte will not be renewing his contract with Tottenham Hotspur, and βcanβt waitβ to return to Juventus amid continued speculation about their management situation. The Italianβs current deal in north London is due to expire in June 2023.” (Paolo Bargiggia)
Not sure how much truth there is in this but Conte never hangs around for long and Juve would be a huge draw. So maybe not Tuchel or Poch?

16th September 2022 at 10:04 am #199079Interesting Nine. Would probably suit all parties if he goes back to Juve. As I said when Tuchel left Chelsea, I’m looking forward to seeing how he does when he inevitably turns up at Spurs π. I think it would be a mistake for Poch to go back there.

16th September 2022 at 10:56 am #199081Well yeah Chucky. I mean he pretty much threatened to leave π
What do you reckon to this Marcus Edwards guy who played against you for Sporting? Do you remember him from his Spurs days? Some of the clips from the game make him look incredible. How was he allowed to be let go? I imagine a few will be in for him in the summer.

16th September 2022 at 11:16 am #199082Ed, if Conte doesn’t sign a contract that takes him past June 23 then the conjecture on Conte’s future will continue if he’s commited to Spurs he will commit to a contract past June 2023 if not the conjecture will continue Juve given their current problems are an obvious link.

16th September 2022 at 11:27 am #199083Sweedy, rumor was Edwards had a bit of a “Billy Big-Boots” attitude, wanted silly money and guaranteed playing time, had “timekeeping” issues, and was by all in all, a proper pain in the Harris. Nobody doubted his talent, it’s his attitude thats highly questionable.

16th September 2022 at 11:57 am #199084Same probably applies to Kane who will only have a year left on his contract next Summer and is probably looking for Conte to commit himself to Spurs past June 23 before he commits himself to Spurs further.
