28th October 2020 at 10:18 pm #169280Did you watch the game Mikus? Seems a bit harsh that. The whole team were very good tonight and it’s not often you can say that about a Utd side these days.

28th October 2020 at 10:19 pm #169281Viking bacon muncher-Dembele is one of the best dribblers in the game today, but his attitude sucks. If he could put his head down and work hard,he will be one of the best players in the world football.

28th October 2020 at 10:21 pm #169282Mikus-Not tonight, mate.Shocking but true, the entire team was superb tonight, and that hasn’t happened with United for years now.

28th October 2020 at 10:25 pm #169283Perhaps Ed, but it was more of a compliment to Rashford than anything. His drive and ability to make things happen reminds me of the way Gerrard used to influence Liverpool in his era.

29th October 2020 at 3:28 am #169284AnonymousGood for EPL teams to show their dominance on the world stage even though the scores were a bit flattering. I expect the same tonight. Hail England rulers of the world.

29th October 2020 at 3:31 am #169285AnonymousWould like to add theirs definitely something wrong with keepers this year if you saw all their actions last night again. I had a brief period in between the sticks but never made errors like we seeing this year so far, even their passing at the back is nerve wracking yet they persist in doing it.

29th October 2020 at 6:53 am #169288Moos we had all 4 semifinalists only a couple of years ago, can’t improve on that. I also thought to be fair both scores last night were a bit flattering but it also goes the other way sometimes when a team dominates but is unable to score, sort of evens up.

29th October 2020 at 7:08 am #169289Mav, agree on Dembele, mate.
And it’s just typical that I could only see Juve vs Barcelona and not U ited when they apparantly for once turned it on. But a few good results since Spurs abused us at home. Let’s hope the team can kick on from here. Beating Leipzig like that was hard to imagine before the game.

29th October 2020 at 8:28 am #169291Blaze, wasn’t it 4 PL teams in the Finals of both the EL and the CL in 2019 I’m not sure any League has ever had 4 Semi Finalists in the CL I think 2 has been the most? We’ve had 2 PL teams in the CL Final though a couple of times I think but one of those I try to strike from my memory.π
Good to see you posting on here buddie.

29th October 2020 at 8:35 am #169293Rashford has everything in his locker to be absolutely world class. Power , pace and can strike a ball
His goal againest BRighton was world class. He just needs to be more consistent
Have to say I like Rashford. Heβs doing a marvellous thing at the minute off the pitch and heβs starting to bang in a few goajs. Best of luck to him
His club and country shoujd be very proud of him

29th October 2020 at 8:47 am #169294Agree with that Sean. I think it’s a travesty if Lewis Hamilton wins the SPOTY award ahead of Rashford as the odds currently suggest. Sure, Rashford hasn’t achieved anywhere near the level in football that Hamilton has achieved in F1, but in terms of being an inspiration to people and uniting people, Rashford has had a year that tops anyone else in British sport, in my opinion.

29th October 2020 at 8:49 am #169295On the pitch, he swings between world class and distinctly average all too often. When he’s good, he’s very good though. As you say, if he can add consistency to his game, then he has the world at his feet.

29th October 2020 at 8:56 am #169296I thought RBL were doing ok right up to the moment Ed commented on how strong their CBs look. Think he did something similar regarding Mourinho when Spurs were 3 nil up. Please Ed never compliment a Liverpool player mid game!
I commentated during the match how pleased (through gritted teeth) that Utd’s first goal was allowed and how VAR was used. Would also like to say it was good to see Rashford’s first goal given after it was incorrectly ruled out. This is what VAR should be used for, obvious mistakes. I think our refs could learn a few things from how it is implemented in the European games.
As mentioned I thought some of RBL game was pretty good with their fast one touch passing right up until the final ball, either the wrong decision or just not good enough.

29th October 2020 at 9:28 am #169297Mighty Moos…a fine performance from Utd and you are right the EPL is strong in Europe,at the moment, if iy carry’s on, history will repeat itself and UEFA will find a way to stop it, cannot have EPL teams winning, penalise them!!!!!

29th October 2020 at 9:31 am #169298threes..it is one of te reasons I do not comment before match over…I would be a jinx as well. Years ago, my wife came with me to watch City, she never saw them win, so i soon put a stop to that and then we got better!!!!

29th October 2020 at 11:18 am #169301I’m a fan of F1 but I’m not a fan of Lewis Hamilton however I think he deserves to win the SPOTY because what he achieved looked impossible to achieve and he’s not finished yet.
I think the problem with Rashford winning the SPOTY as well he might if the voting was opened up to include him is that the SPOTY rules require the recipient to have achieved a great sporting achievement.
It would be a nice touch from the BBC if they created another Award to recognise the great achievements of a Sportsman outside of sporting achievements such as Rashfords maybe even call it the Rashford Trophy with Marcus Rashford the first recipient.
I know Rashford was awarded the MBE but I hope what he’s done doesn’t go unmarked by both the public and the Sporting World.
