27th October 2020 at 10:40 pm #169230Much improved performance from us. Greater intensity, fluid movement, passed the ball crisper and with much more pace. Basically dominated from first to last whistle. Stand out performers were KdB (again), Foden and Walker. And a special mention to our CBs, Laporte and Diaz, who both looked solid – Diaz’s reading of the game was top notch – just need to sort out the LB position.
Perfect starts in CL for both us and Liverpool – 6 pts each.
Hoping the performance tonight can be reflected in our league form, as we have three tough fixtures looming – Sheff United away, Liverpool at home and Spurs away._____________________________

28th October 2020 at 5:45 am #169231Congratulations on the win to Liverpool. I think FC Midtjylland made it more difficult to Liverpool than what most thought. But at the end of the day Liverpool deserved their win, No doubt about that.
I’m looking forward to Juventus vs Barcelona tonight. A game between two iconic clubs who can’t really make things click at the moment. Huge game nevertheless.

28th October 2020 at 8:04 am #169235Yep. That would have been good. And speaking of Messi, I bet he stays now that the president has gone.

28th October 2020 at 10:43 am #169238Good win v Marseille. I stand by what I said about the French league after United v PSG. Watching the game last night suggested that the French teams dont have the same intensity as Prem League clubs. Yes I know we lost to Lyon but if we had taken our chances and had less injuries for that game it would have been a different story.
Good win for Liverpool.
Utd game should be interesting._____________________________

28th October 2020 at 11:01 am #169239Sean, the media are suggesting Klopp won’t buy a Centre Back in January that would be a mistake imo look what happened to City playing a makeshift Centre Back last season.
Matip is very injury prone and Fabiniho is not a Centre Back.
3 Centre Backs and Matip injury prone looked risky at the start of the season and even more so now.
Doesn’t sound like a bad hamstring for Fabiniho so he probably won’t be out that long I think Liverpool could maybe go to January without too many problems but going past then with just Fabinho, Matip and Gomez is a big risk and could cost them.

28th October 2020 at 11:46 am #169240Ye I agree nine mate. We never replaced Lovren so we already need a cb before vvd got injured
I think we just have to concentrate on out scoring teams now as we are going to concede goals

28th October 2020 at 12:51 pm #169243Even if the media suggest that Liverpool won’t buy a defender january, I bet they will.
Logic says they simply have to.
It’s only smart by Liverpool to leak stories that they’re not in the market. Anything else and the transfer fee will just rise even more.
Klopp is a brilliant manager and a smart guy, it seems. Liverpool is a well run club. I would be surprised if they decide not to buy im the winter._____________________________

28th October 2020 at 2:20 pm #169244Be suprised if you’re not right srd my only reservation is that Klopp doesn’t do compromise which in this situation could be a strength and a weakness and if he can’t get exactly get the Centre Back he wants he won’t buy anyone which could impact on Liverpool’s season.
I guess a lot depends on the right players availability in January which is often a difficult month to buy the players you really want.

28th October 2020 at 2:44 pm #169245999, I think you’re right. But it would be a bold decision even for Klopp not to get a defender, even if it’s not a dream player of his.
I think he knows they’re stretched in defence. Of course he does. And remember, he once got in Steven Caulker, so I think it’s fair to say covering a position is more important to him than getting in Mr. Right when pushed to the limit.
But we’ll see. It’s going to be an exciting season._____________________________

28th October 2020 at 2:58 pm #169247srd,good point about Caulker a short term buy might be the way for Liverpool to go.
As Sean said “We never replaced Lovren so we already need a cb before vvd got injured.” Easy to be wise in hindsight but having Lovren now could have steered them through these current problems.

28th October 2020 at 3:08 pm #169248Yep. A loan might be the way to go for them.
I thought they were in for Koulibaly (not sure about the spelling), but perhaps he was too expensive considering he’s pushing 30 like VVD?_____________________________
