4th November 2020 at 8:44 pm #169671Very harsh on Rennes there. Extremely harsh pen and then the player gets a second yellow for an unavoidable handball

4th November 2020 at 8:44 pm #169672I don’t see the justice in giving a player a yellow card for accidental handball even if his arms were extended. In this case 2 yellow cards for the same player. Doesn’t feel right for Chelsea either to win in this way.

4th November 2020 at 8:50 pm #169673Rennes were well in the game up until that point. Such a strange decision considering it went to VAR.

4th November 2020 at 8:55 pm #169674Ole now favourite to be next manager sacked. A defeat at Everton could well seal his fate. Get your money on a big Utd win then!

4th November 2020 at 9:12 pm #169676Very harsh on Rennes. UEFA much harsher on handball than the PL. It was the Refs decision to give the pen though.

4th November 2020 at 9:52 pm #169679If Woodward does indeed want Poch, he might need to get a move on as that Barca job isn’t going to be occupied for much longer either

4th November 2020 at 10:24 pm #169681If it is Poch or anybody else, woud it make a difference? Until the top is still doing the decision nothing will change apart from a honeymoon period and we are even seeing that with players now, everything must be so uncertain for the fans

4th November 2020 at 10:32 pm #169682Poch said he would never manage Barca as he managed espanol but then again he might change his mind
Poch is the not the answer for utd. Not sure who is but it be like appointing Moyes. Heβs won nothing.
Utd have tried everything at tvis stage. They be in their 5th manager in 7 years of ole goes. No one given ample time and the same be with poch
Millions spent and in w few years he be sacked. I think utd are stuck in limbo for a few years. Very very similar to what happened to Liverpool

4th November 2020 at 10:32 pm #169684Font who is currently the Presedential favourite at Barca originally wanted Xavi at Barca?
If someone offers Poch a job maybe not even a top job you get the impression he’s so keen to get back into football he will probably take it.
Another loss at Everton may well take Ole down. I suspect United might well bounce back and win that game though.

5th November 2020 at 3:12 am #169685Anonymous“If it is Poch or anybody else, woud it make a difference? ”
Absolutely. Someone can come in and make a huge difference without solving all the problems from top down. The human mind is an interesting biased based thing. We are constantly struggling to balance rational, instinct and emotion and we do this somehow factoring in the complexities of time.
I use Klopp as my go to but for other clubs, you all have valid examples. Somewhere in his last season at Dortmund, Klopp couldnt win a game. We’re talking about the side who won back to back league titles and made a CL final. Now that side, couldnt find a win. So draw your comparisons to that Dortmund and this Liverpool. Obviously we havent got back to backl titles but we did do back to back CL finals and also back to back insane PL points tallies.
Now, imagine Liverpool being in relegation, this season, after say 14 games. Would you want Klopp as your manager then? Maybe the answer is still yes but you’d have seen things in the team that have fallen apart to question your decision. That is kinda like Poch at Spurs for me.
Spurs suffered by going too close and not quite getting there. they made a CL final, in absolutely epic fashiona nd then the final was a wash out. Liverpool werent good, spurs werent good but int he end LFC got the trophy and thats all that matters in our stupid human brains, going forward. We are quick to forget the good stuff that went into that journey.
Brendan Rodgers is another example. He NEARLY won the PL but didnt and going so close along with losing 2 superstars saw him fired alarmingly soon afterwards. Now he’s back though, he was in the wilderness for a while but last season he had a really good campaign with Leicester. he’s started well and I’ve seen at least 10 Utd supporters talk about how good he’d be for them.
Poch’s last impact on our brains is his collapse, this does not encapsulate him. He had a brilliant Spurs team for ages and it does him an injustice to be remembered in the way he is. Really, he knows this though and should do whatever it takes to amend it and remind everyone, as Klopp did, as Rodger did and even as someone like Jose did when he went to Inter.
Ole is a Championship level manager at best. Poch is a high tier PL level manager. He is such a huge upgrade on Ole and although that bloody team might have some incredible wasters there but a top tier guy will see the lads to work with, he’ll have a say in who comes into the squad. he might not get last say but the best guys see more and will have more to say to the lads in charge when it comes to important decisions.
Klopp definitely does not have final say on our signings, he actually had to be convinced to sign Salah. So did I TBH. he has an input though and his input is actually worth something, unlike someone like Ole who just strikes me as a yes man. I get this feeling when I listen to him in interviews. He strikes me as someone who wants to show that he is in charge but top managers dont need to show shit, they just do it and Jose, Klopp, Poch, Pep, Ancelotti… these lads just know they are worth listening to, they dont have to convince anyone.
anyway I know ive rambled an awful lot, apologies.

5th November 2020 at 3:19 am #169686AnonymousI guess I just dont understand the hesitance from people and the Utd board to install Poch. I dont have to understand it, I suppose. I just dont see any forward thinking or action there at Utd and I do ask myself right now at least, WHY ARE THE FANS NOT KICKING OFF?
The Utd fans on here and all around me in real life were so used to this constant stream of success and great football. Things quickly fell apart and besides the odd big signing and change of manager, it’s not really given you any sign that things are on the right track. us Liverpool fans had our own nonsense but we eventually start going nuts. We rejected our owners but see, they werent diplomatic. They were in the media, they were seedly unsettling and ultimately they were financially unsuccessful, which brought an end to them.
Utd fans need to unite and demand better.

5th November 2020 at 4:21 am #169687AnonymousUniteds main failing is the players they buying Ferguson made sure he always brought in the top quality players as they had the money to do that plus there’s no or very little intimidation on the sidelines towards officials as old rednose was the very best at that. As for Chelsea we need var and penalties to beat a so called weak team and even with 10 men they dominated us, yet another poor performance by an EPL club.
