There may or may not be something in it but it would be impossible to prove and Barkley was within his rights to say no in the Summer because he wanted more time and to wait until he was fully fit and I don’t know what anyone could do about that.
But I do get the frustrations of the Everton fans as their club’s list circa £20m and they’ve lost one of their best players for a knock down price but that’s what Everton agreed to and they had little option because Barkley would have left for a free in the Summer.

9th January 2018 at 3:32 pm #11813Agree with you about Anderson by the way, Jim.
However, what about this scenario? Barkley rocks up to Stamford Bridge last August for his medical having had his transfer agreed by all parties for a reported £35m. At his medical, it becomes apparent that he wouldn’t be fit for a fair few months, and so somebody at Chelsea says ‘tell you what, go back to Goodison, get paid by them for another 4 months. We’ll buy you in January for a knockdown £15m then. You, Ross, will get a nice big signing on fee, we’ll save a load on transfer fees, wages and rehab costs. In fact, the only ones who’ll lose out are Everton! Ha, ha!!’.
I guess there is nothing illegal in all this, but you can’t blame Everton for being pissed off (couldn”t happen to a nicer club, by the way!). It’s cost them £20m transfer fee, plus maybe £800k in wages and a few quid in rehab costs.

9th January 2018 at 4:37 pm #11826Need somebody like him on board just should FSG play up – hahahah 😀
This is hilarious whichever way you look at it 😀
I’d be more bothered about my weekly bin collection and the state of my ‘manor’ than a player’s transfer move that I probably won’t have a say in lol!

9th January 2018 at 4:56 pm #11834He is an Everton Season ticket holder I believe.?
Are Everton pissed off though Jim?
Of course they would have rather Barkley stayed and signed an extended contract he was their star player and if he wasn’t going to sign an extended contract they would have preferred Barkley moved last Summer for £35m.
All club’s know what happens when players run down their contracts the same happened with Solanke at Chelsea and the same might well happen with Sanchez he could have gone to City for £60m in the Summer now he will probably go to City for circa £30m in January or join on a free in the Summer. That’s the way the system works.

9th January 2018 at 6:33 pm #11871Good point Hightown. But nowt illegal in that even if true. Why would you buy someone who is crocked for four months when you are not obligated to. Makes perfect business sense.

Even if that is the case and somebody from Chelsea said that to him. Chelsea have within their right to look for the lowest price possible they can for Barkley. i see nothing wrong with that. we were trying to get him on the cheap. as a buyer you don’t care the interest of the seller and equally as a seller you won’t care the interest of the buyer. is like saying Liverpool kept Coutinho to force Barcelona to pay a few more than they were prepared to pay in the summer. and just picture if the Mayor of Barcelona contacts the Police. how outrageous would that sound to you?

10th January 2018 at 12:31 am #11911He’s a useless fat fuck.
He got 89k of legal fees paid by the council to enable him to pursue unfair dismissal pension claims against a former employer. He received about 14k and it was for a part time role as a teaching assistant of some sorts and he hadn’t turned up for work in years (but he ‘knew his rights’)
Yet he claims in his interview with the echo that he had to object to this transfer as he is an individual who believes in the highest level of probity!!! You couldn’t make it up!
