Seemingly Paratici wanted Gattuso at Juventus and on joining Spurs as soon as he became unexpectedly available having left Fiorentina after just 23 days he wanted Gattuso at Spurs and Spurs were in talks with Gattuso but then pulled out as they did similarly with Fonsecca.
Spurs are in a total mess currently and Spurs fans are rightly irate with Levy because of the mess they are making in trying to replace Mourinho.
Spurs have almost certainly dodged a bullet with Gattuso though.

18th June 2021 at 12:15 pm #180548If spurs were a human being we would be looking at his recent behaviour as a cry for help and organise an intervention!

18th June 2021 at 12:31 pm #180549All getting a bit worryingly underwhelming for sure, beginning to think we’ll end up with Martinez after all.
(Come on Levy, do the right thing for once, give Conte what he wants, that is undoubtedly the best option out there!)

18th June 2021 at 2:56 pm #180557Chucky, yep if only Spurs had a wealthy owner.
“Joseph C. Lewis (born 5 February 1937) is a British businessman and investor. According to the Sunday Times Rich List in 2020, Lewis had a net worth of £3.992 billion.”
😊

18th June 2021 at 4:47 pm #180559Not wrong Puppy, never said we didn’t have a wealthy owner, just an owner with short arms and deep pockets, and his Brazillion blank checks tucked away in a safe… 🙂

20th June 2021 at 7:33 am #180650Benitez to Everton is an accident waiting to happen imo which is presumably why nothing has been announced even though allegedly Everton and Benitez came to an agreement last Wednesday?
No point any Manager going to a Club where the fans so clearly don’t want you from the start that’s just a background to failure. Everton need to think again as does Rafa.

25th June 2021 at 8:22 am #180823Looks like Spurs are going to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo they’re running out of candidates now, but Spurs fans seem dead against the appointment and have launched a NotoNuno campaign.

25th June 2021 at 8:28 am #180824“A move to bring Rafa Benitez to Everton is “closer than ever” to happening, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.
The ex-Liverpool manager has been linked with a controversial move to the Blues for weeks, and it appears confirmation is now imminent.
Crook wrote on his personal Twitter profile: “Rafa Benitez closer than ever to being named Everton manager.”
Crook then delivered a more in-depth update on talkSPORT Euro breakfast with Alan Brazil [07:00, 25/06/21].
“Rafa Benitez is edging ever-closer to becoming Everton manager, it could happen before the weekend is out,” Crook said.
“Farhad Moshiri just brought himself a bit of time and sucked up the protests from the supporters and decided if this was the right way to proceed.
“But it seems he has decided that will be the case.”
It’s no surprise now that Benitez is set to be appointed as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor – all the speculation over the past week or so has been that Moshiri is hell-bent on bringing him to Goodison Park, despite fan protests.
We’ve not exactly accepted the decision as such, but we’ve begun to slowly come to terms with the decision and the fact our owner appears insensitive to the feelings of Blues.
It’s a move that will divide Blues supporters – there have been some that have said they will turn the back on the club after this decision.
Most will begrudgingly accept it and offer their unstinting devotion to the club, but it’s certainly not a decision that will be well-received and some fans will already be eyeing his exit.
It will take some effort by Benitez to turn the tide that’s currently against him – he would have to oversee an unbelievable start to his Blues reign to garner any sort of support.
Goodison Park could become a toxic place if he starts poorly, and it could well be another Sam Allardyce appointment.
In other Everton news, Don Hutchinson is dismayed at Benitez reports and urges the Blues to appoint Graham Potter.” Alex Crook TalkSport.

25th June 2021 at 8:31 am #180825Funny thing is Everton fans are more upset about this when really it should be Liverpool fans 😂
Liverpool fans wish him the best of luck. He lives on the Wirral. He’s done so much for the city. Best of luck
Silly appointment. He’s past his best and his football is poor. Will end in tears

25th June 2021 at 5:25 pm #180861Just saw this old lady struggling to cross the road. I shouted over to ask if she could manage, she shouted back “yes love, but I don’t want the spurs job I have already been asked that today!”
Lol just read that on BBC comments made me chuckle 😆

25th June 2021 at 8:25 pm #180869Double B… did get the phone call, but when I asked for a transfer budget of a case of apple tango and a family bag of monster munch, he offered 3 Capri-Suns (Unicorn Flavor) and a Double Checker… told him it’s hard enough competing against sovereign nations with 695 billion to pay for a global sports washing campaign so we forget about their human rights abuses behind them so he chucked in a packet of tic-tacs… still thinking about… of course, he won’t let me have Buffy as my assistant, that has to be worth a Mars Bar.
