Jim, let us have our moment! We all know City are the team to beat and streets ahead of the rest of us but it’s all about progress at the minute and securing second place would be a big step towards that progress. Can we have one game without mentioning the bestest ever team in the history of football?! ???

10th March 2018 at 2:36 pm #17590AnonymousThereโs a reason they are known as the bitter blues, Ed. Always thinking of Utd. Very strange.

10th March 2018 at 2:37 pm #17591You need to speak to young Foden Alfie! Seriously you have to be pretty good and play a certain way to get in this City side. So perhaps I was being a bit optimistic on Rashford ?. On a serious note he took his two chances very well. He was impressive along with Ashley Young.

10th March 2018 at 2:38 pm #17592AnonymousWhat Valencia did was a red card offense. It’s only by Mane being able to turn on a 6 pence that saved him. So because Mane is nimble, only a yellow. . . .
Liverpool were shocking today. What was with the nervy passing? Where was the confidence? I could understand that kind of stuff against City cause they are just amazing but that’s unacceptable against a team who I think are technically inferior to us.
TAA had a poor game and was not good enough for both goals but there was some skill involved in scoring them, so not exactly howlers. Our keeper needs better protection than that though.
We need to get better at converting corners. it would really be worth putting Van Dijk through an awful lot of practice because he can often get on the end of them. . it’s just that he needs to improve the finish.
I think Utds defence was quite good. They were well disciplined and offered very little space through the centre. They were even quite good at defending from the wide areas. I just feel that we made it a lot easier on them by playing at too low a tempo, over-thinking when on the ball and ultimately either making passes after the space is gone, or just missing the player altogether.
Ya, Lukaku bossed Lovren and you could see it was getting to him. He went a bit insane there towards the end and is lucky that 2nd tackle didn’t get him sent off. If it connected, that’s exactly what would have happened.
anyway congrats to the Utd fans on here. I was joking (of course) with my 6-1 prediction. I will say that I thought we had a good chance of winning this one by a small margin though but we just didn’t bring our A game and you lads took your chances well.

10th March 2018 at 2:44 pm #17599Utd filly drservrd the win. Jose out smarted Klopp with one simple tactic. Very similar to what lvg did at Anfield few treats back. We couldnโt cope with lackau.
Jose always has something up his sleeve and heโs done us again. We bottled it first half. No complaints. Utd deserved it. Itโs typical Liverpool

10th March 2018 at 2:46 pm #17600AnonymousYep, forgot the special criteria when it comes to Utd Chucky! I assume we cannot mention all of the times that Pogba and McTominay have played together.

10th March 2018 at 2:48 pm #17601And how many times was that? I don’t follow them week in week out mate (obviously!). If Wee Mac Lad is now a regular when Maureen has a complete squad to choose from, then fair enough, but it seems to gets to play when Emoji-man is getting a new haircut or something…

10th March 2018 at 2:49 pm #17602First chance of the year ?. Both him and Rashford starting in a big game like that shows Mourinho trusts them. A far cry from the concerns everyone else had for the Utd youngsters upon Mourinho joining Utd!

10th March 2018 at 2:54 pm #17605AnonymousEd – weโve been here before and not too long ago! Utd have played more academy players in the PL (whichever rather biased way people want to come up with to try and show otherwise) than any other top side.
But I guess that if people repeat the same nonsense after every game then theyโll convince some that it is true.

10th March 2018 at 2:56 pm #17606City are linked to Lemar according to reports today, looking to hijack the deal from Liveprool by offering a bigger pay package. Wonder where that will leave Foden in the pecking order considering he has the 2 Silvas, De Bruyne, Sane and Sterling to compete with too.
Anyway overall a good game and tactics by Jose. Kept Liverpool quiet which is something teams do not do often. Bailly had a bit of rust with that own goal, but boy did we miss him the last few months. Nice of Jose to throw in youngsters in the deep end, Pep would have ended up putting in a 70m bid for a player if one of his players was out injured short term.

10th March 2018 at 2:59 pm #17607McTominay started against Chelsea and Palace. That is with a fully fit midfield of Pogba and Matic.

10th March 2018 at 3:01 pm #17608Super game thoroughly enjoyed it and Liverpool came back strong in the second half.
I thought Lukaku led the line really well and Rashfords’s first goal was pure quality very impressed with young Mctominay.
Liverpool definitely on an upward curve Van Dijk beginning to look really impressive but he needs a quality Centre Back beside him Ox, Milner and Can in midfield doesn’t offer a lot of creativity imo.
