11th April 2018 at 1:22 pm #20076Banjo’s had to work, like proper work, and he isn’t a happy little puppy… he put this weeks housekeeping on 12-8 to City last night, mainly to annoy Nilly-Willy, but now it’s fresh air pie for a week and a half.
KLOPP-KLIP always wear a set-belt when drink-driving.

11th April 2018 at 1:46 pm #20077I did see that through Daily Mail, and it’s disgusting. We would have been condemned point-blank had that been Liverpool supporters picking on Man City.
The family enclosure area is hardly anything like the kop at Leicester as fans of both sets of supporters can mingle together – bit like this forum, no borders! π π
I had to keep stum after ‘this boy is immense’ unleashed a wonderful free-kick.

11th April 2018 at 2:16 pm #20081AnonymousIf you have a neutral/family area in the stadium then you should expect people to behave. Why anyone would kick off, presumably, in front of one of their children is a mystery. What sort of example is that setting?

11th April 2018 at 2:18 pm #20082Benni, don’t be silly I was very clear on my position to any sort of violence but that Stand seemed packed with men and was for City supporters going in there was both irresponsible and foolish and jumping up to celebrate the goal when surrounded by City fans was imo even more irresponsible and foolish .
Nobody with half a grain of sense who has regularly attended games around the country would have done what that Liverpool fan / fans did and you being a fan who has done all of that would know that better than those that rarely attend a Liverpool game.
There was clear fan segregation for this game and I would be amazed if City sold tickets for a neutral area with mixed City and Liverpool fans in it or that any neutral area existed for this game or that the Police would have ever agreed for City and Liverpool fans to sit side by side in a neutral area but if they did they together with City would be as culpable as anyone else for this incident But as I said I would be amazed if that was the case.
Very sad it should happen in the City family stand and hopefully there will be a full investigation as to how Liverpool fans bought tickets in a clear City area.
Hopefully all those responsible will be bought to account and I hope those Liverpool fans who were attacked are OK. Final words from me!

11th April 2018 at 2:36 pm #20088Mindless thugs, Alfie – same as those lunatics that attacked City’s bus last Wednesday.
The Club can’t be around all the time to Babysit, and the Stewards put their trust into these people to be responsible.

11th April 2018 at 3:40 pm #20097What a fantastic night…in the end. A thoroughly deserved win over the two legs. Yeah, we had a little luck with the offside given against Sane, but hey ho! I don’t think anyone can argue the better team went through.
I’d just like to pick up on Pep at half time. As soon as the half time whistle went he was on the pitch ranting at the referee, he’d been moaning about the ref for a couple of days before the game (some history in Spain, I believe). So he would have gone in to the City dressing room at half time with a sense of grievance and anger, and maybe that rubbed off on his team somewhat. Surely he should have gone in, and bigged his team up, told them they were doing great, and more of the same in the 2nd half please. Dare I say, always the victim?
We’ll of course never know what either manager said at half time, but Klopp, I’m guessing, was more considered, realising we were getting stretched, dropping too deep etc, and did something about it. The team came out revitalised and re-energised in the 2nd half.
I really do believe that last night was as much a tale of 2 managers as it was a tale of 2 football teams, and I think Klopp handled the adversity far better than Pep.

11th April 2018 at 3:47 pm #20098It’s difficult to single out any player from last night, but special mention must go to two of the most underrated and often vilified Liverpool players whose performances over the two legs actually outshone their more lauded and praised colleagues. Take a bow Degsy Lovren and James Milner! Great efforts from the pair of them.
Madrid for me in the semi final. While they are obviously the best team left in the competition, I fancy our chances of beating them more over 2 legs than in a one off final. They won’t fancy Anfield one bit, and over there, our pace on the break can do them like it did for City last night. Having said all that, I really don’t care who we get…I just hope we keep the players who are currently available fit for the remainder of the season. We really can’t afford any more injuries.

11th April 2018 at 4:43 pm #20100Hightown, I think Liverpool are capable of beating any of the teams left in the competition over two legs or in a one off game in the Final.
If I was a Liverpool fan I would prefer Roma because despite the fact that they beat Barca last night amazingly coming back from 1-4 down they are still probably the weakest team left in the competition but I don’t think Liverpool need to fear anyone in the draw no matter who it throws up on Friday.

11th April 2018 at 4:51 pm #20101Silly?
You need to avoid the patronising insultsDo you even understand βcondoningβ – saying you understand why it happened is mentally justifying it, try looking it up.
City sold the tickets (for huge sums) and frankly I donβt see why the guys should sit in fear and not even be allowed to jump up – the club apologised to them and relocated them but Iβve sat in many matches and had opposition fans jump up to celebrate and not felt the need to punch them – and Iβve been in a designated area, not a family area.
You seem to blame the victim rather than the perpetrators – wonder why

11th April 2018 at 5:43 pm #20104There was NO ‘neutral’ area for this match. The only ground, that I know of, that has such an enclosure is Fulham.
My mate is a Liverpool fan and had a ticket in with the home fans. I told him to ‘sit on his hands’ throughout the match which he did and he was fine. He was even chatting (in his Scouse accent) with the City fans around him but did not jump up and celebrate Liverpool’s goals. Anyone who did that really is asking for trouble, especially after what happened last week. I’m not saying that’s right (it’s not) but just bloody common sense, as Nine points out in an earlier post. Anybody suggesting that’s condoning trouble is way off the mark and just trolling for a reaction. Sadly this is becoming more common on this site of late: one reason, I feel, Big Jim has ‘taken a break’._____________________________
