10th April 2018 at 10:22 pm #20028No idea why pep changed it at hakf time playing ferindhio has a centre beck and going to a back 4
We win 5-1 over two legs and fully deserve to go through. We have had many decisions go againest us many times. Look at the Europa league final. Two stonewall pens. Itโs happens and city can feel aggrieved at the disallowed goal but we were excellent in the 2nd hakf
We had a makeshift midfield.its an outstanding result for us. Many thought we wouldnโt be able to handle cl football and do well in the league but we are going strong because Klopp rotated many times before Christmas
Klopp buys well. Players improve under him. Itโs a massive progress. Delighted and itโs time to start being positive about us as we are a very good side.

10th April 2018 at 10:31 pm #20030Sean, that’s true on the decisions against us.
The thing is, we get penalized as the bad penny for the Refs ruling.
What good is Chris Foy on BT Sport putting forward his thoughts when the real heart of the matter is putting into place VAR?
The Offside Rule is open to confusion because of the complexities. The genuinely could do with help or an accompanied second opinion.

10th April 2018 at 11:40 pm #20031There’s no confusion about an opposition defender touching the ball to an oppodition forward puts him onside its crystal clear and Had VAR been in operation the goal would have been awarded.
It was at a crucial stage of the game and had City gone 2 nil up it would have probably have changed the course of the game.
How the goal line linesman could get it that wrong brings into question the whole validity of goal line linesman.
Liverpool got away with one it happens now Liverpool need to take full advantage of that now and go on and win the CL which they are quite capable of doing now.
There’s a certain inevitsbleness about this now from the Group stage draw to the Salah offside decision going Liverpool’s way at Anfield for the first goal and now the Same goal being wrongly ruled out sometimes it’s written in stars and your names on the Cup it’s happened before it happened to Chelsea in 2012 and Liverpool in 2005 and it might just be happening again.
Nobody will want to draw Liverpool in the Semi Finals and everyone will want to draw Roma who although a very decent side are very unlikely Semi Finalists.
Well done to Liverpool nobody would have predicted a 5-1 aggregate win but they did it and their name now deservedly goes into the draw for the Semi Finals where I suspect they just might draw Roma next.

10th April 2018 at 11:57 pm #20033Congrats to Liverpool.
However, I am sick and tired of being shafted by bad decisions – five in the last three games, directly affecting the score. That Sane offside goal was a complete joke, wtf do those planks on the goal line actually do? Surely he saw Milner play the ball back. That was a massive game-changer – 2-0 going into HT and momentum was all ours.
VAR can’t come in soon enough. Having said that, when it is introduced, marginal decisions initially ruled in our favour will probably be chalked off, knowing our luck.
Really, really f****d off._____________________________

11th April 2018 at 12:01 am #20034There was a recent game that involved Dejan Lovren in the ball allegedly touching him that led to some whoo-haah.
From a life-long follower of Football, I certainly didn’t know. I’m not totally clear in my head the full extent of the Offside Rule.
In any case, that’s the contentious decision up for discussion.
It doesn’t marry to science whether that would have impacted the entire momentum of the game. Liverpool didn’t score 1, they scored 2.
And, if we’re talking about key incidents changing the course of the game, then the sending off at the Ethiad could have unravelled with a different outcome had Mane remained on the pitch. We’ve had umpteenth decisions go against us this season that have failed to have been recognized.
VAR is welcomed one minute, then just thrown under the bus when the decision doesn’t live up to one’s requirements.

11th April 2018 at 12:28 am #20036AnonymousNine, you’re absolutely right. City’s 2nd goal was a goal and could have hanged the match. it should have stood and its a disgrace that it didnt but not in terms of what the ref can see on the night. It’s more of a disgrace that this is the state of officiating. We need var.
The fact remains though that from what play did happen and was allowed, Liverpool took over and won on the counter. That is all we can do but the thing is, over both legs we thoroughly deserved it .
even though I have a lot of sympathy and would be absolutely furious had that BS gone against us, we were still the better team over both legs.
it’s pretty incredible what Roma did to Barca and if you saw the shocked look on Messi’s face as he walked off the pitch… well I have very few words for him, he should not be shocked at all. He had 90 minutes to look shocked. there is no room for football royalty in this game.
We’ve knocked out the best team in the competition, by a mile. I would like to have drawn Barca and think that Roma might be an unknown quantity to some extent, so I’ll be hoping to draw either Bayern or Real if I’m honest. I’ll hope for Real.
I have full belief in this team to bring the Cl back to Liverpool. That was such a hard fought tie with City. It speaks volumes that we came out of it , never mind that we did it reasonably comfortably (in score).
I’m so glad that im not a football analyst, although they have given even the biggest idiots of them so much to go on.

11th April 2018 at 12:38 am #20037Mav, I think you got away with the Salah goal at Anfield and the Sane goal tonight but that’s a good thing if you’re a Liverpool fan because it means the force is with you.
As I said right at the beginning of this thread Liverpool score and it’s a game changer and so it proved had the Sane goal stood I think City would have probably taken the game to extra time but on the turn of such things trophy winners emerge and I think Liverpool have a real chance of winning it now no matter who they might draw. Enjoy it all mate . Cheers 999

11th April 2018 at 6:27 am #20042I thought Sane goal should have stood, but VvD was fouled for the first goal – so maybe some evening out. Doesnโt seem to be mentioned though.
If City lose to Spurs? Pep out! ?

11th April 2018 at 6:27 am #20043Clear 2nd goal. Very poor decision
We got some lunch do but we were clinical
Huge progress to make the semi finals
Still long way to go. It really donโt care who we get now
Itโs the last 4 and no way did I expect to be here
City looked so good in the 1st half like they did on sat but something is not right at the min
The decision to switch ferndio to centre back and play aback 4 suited us down to the ground
City would always have blipbit leys be honest, they are some tramsbdtwo trophies this season is excellent

11th April 2018 at 6:46 am #20045Congrats to all the Liverpool fans on here and commiserations to the City fans. I said a while ago on here that it wouldn’t surprise me if Liverpool won the CL this season and they’re certainly looking capable of doing that now.
Pax, hope you’ll change your mind mate. Regardless of what anyone says, everyone is welcome to post anywhere on the forum.
Sean, I’m glad you got some lunch!

11th April 2018 at 7:48 am #20048I don’t know who allowed them in on talksport last night, but some of the callers – our own sets of fans too wanting ‘Klopp out’ if he fails to win the CL!
Give the man a chance for goodness sake! It has to be a WUM out there haha.

11th April 2018 at 7:51 am #20049Glad this tie’s over now, and fingers crossed for a decent draw. We just now need to consolidate 4th and finish as high as possible in the league.
My only real criticism would be that we didn’t so well in the Domestic comps, but I hope next season, we improve in the area once we bring in a few fresh faces and add to the squad.
It would be wonderful at the very least if we could make the final of the CL. There’s a real synergy now about the mentality of the players and resilience.

Klopp out just when he’s beginning to get it together?
Football fans are so fickle no matter which club they support.

11th April 2018 at 8:59 am #20051AnonymousThere isn’t a sane Liverpool supporter out there who wants Klopp out. On the other hand there are plenty of bored Everton fans.
Sean , how was your midnight lunch?
Anyway, I too am glad that this tie is behind us. I know we won 5-1 but I felt that City gave us a run for our money. I was really unhappy with the ref in this second tie leg. As said before by someone else, Citys 2nd goal should have stood but Van Dijk was fouled for Citys first. Those calls plus the bookings and even some of the really small decisions.. I just felt like he was a terrible ref.
I just feel like we’re going to draw Roma. It really will be a tale of 2 legs, if this were to happen. Roma haven’t conceded at home in the CL this season and Anfield is a fortress in KO CL matches. On top of that I think Roma could be a bad draw for us tactically and physically. They are apparently very good at set pieces and play in a more defensive manner. So, although I am confident that we can beat any of the teams remaining, I think this would be a tie that might be mistakenly considered to be an easier one.
Anyway, to the City lads who are depressed today, chin up and enjoy winning the title (hopefully this weekend).
