I reckon this could be another 7-0 for Liverpool. West Ham are shocking.

23rd February 2018 at 9:31 am #16338It’s all very well predicting these outcomes which is flattering, but we’ve been here before where we’ve seen a missed opportunity. As Monday night proved, you can never be certain in football, though I feel the traditional 3 o clock game will play it’s part and we should have a comfortable afternoon.

23rd February 2018 at 9:34 am #16339Mak-Liverpool on current form could probably beat WHU with 8 men on the pitch, but as 999 would say-“it`s a strange game saint” or something….

23rd February 2018 at 12:01 pm #16356Pax – I’d actually have Henderson in my preferred starting line-up at the moment. That’s not to say we shouldn’t be looking for an upgrade, as I find it difficult to believe Jordan Henderson would ever be a regular in a title winning side. However what he does provide for Liverpool is that he is the pivot in midfield…by that he always keeps the ball moving and he’s like the centre of a clock from which various options emanate. My midfield 3 from our current squad would be him, Can and Wijnaldum, but that area of the field is definitely our weak point at the moment, I would say.

Classic comment and so on the button imo from the little maestro who was Jimmy Greaves bless him.
Best filed away now though as it seems to ruffle the odd feather.?

23rd February 2018 at 1:57 pm #16371West ham beat Chelsea and drew with spurs at wembkey
it wouldnβt matter who we were playing tomorrow. My point is we have a huge chance to put real pressure on utd and Chelsea and usually we donβt take these opportunities. Itβs a massive game for us to really push on but I expect us to bottle it like we have done so many times in the past
if we win, I can see ya finish the season strongly m. If not, it be the usual shite
we didnβt beat wba and Everton when we had a massive chance to push on before Christmas

23rd February 2018 at 2:07 pm #16372Sean, whatever happens on Saturday and I think Liverpool will beat West Ham it won’t make or break Liverpool’s season either way.
Liverpool will comfortably qualify for the CL imo this season and they could go a long way in the CL.

23rd February 2018 at 4:06 pm #16381Anonymous“Liverpool will comfortably qualify for the CL imo this season ” – I wish I had your confidence. Honestly, Liverpool SHOULD do it easily but it’s our inconsistency against lower opposition that can drop us to 5th before the seasons out. I’m such a huge fan of how we demolish teams when we’re on form and although we don’t have the same problems that we did before (to the same extent anyway) with breaking down buses, we have yet to improve to the point where it’s no longer an issue for us.
Paxton, a good question and I could probably talk all day about Henderson but I’ll try and keep it brief. Henderson was the unsung hero on Rodger’s title challenging team. He got sent off before with 3-4 games to go in that campaign and thats right when the wheels came off for us. That said, I don’t think he’s captain material. I’d keep him as a quality squad player who starts every other game but that’s where it ends.
It isn’t all about quality though and as I say he isn’t captaincy material, when he’s fit and on form, he’s a very good player but his heal condition means that he can’t play at the highest level for an entire season. So it may seem like I don’t rate him as a player but it isn’t that/ He isn’t the leader that we need but he does have character. He has plenty of skill, although he is just not good enough to be the captain of a title winning side, I think anyway.
If he starts tomorrow I won’t moan too much as he has had a bit of a rest and might play a blinder. The player who I don’t want to see tomorrow is Can. If I were to then pick a player that I do want to see but who may miss out, that’s Wijnaldum. He gets a raw deal for such a good player.

23rd February 2018 at 4:17 pm #16382The Spammers are perfectly capable of putting a spanner in anybody’s works. They really seem to “up” their game when they’re in a position to be real party poopers… but having said that, if/when Pool get the first goal it will be game over. If it’s still 0-0 after 30 minutes, it could be a long, long afternoon!

23rd February 2018 at 4:29 pm #16385I know itβs late notice, but I have a spare ticket for tomorrow in the Lower Kenny Dalglish stand. Itβs a really good seat and is at face value at Β£45. If anyone is interested, let me know on here and weβll arrange to meet tomorrow before the game or in a pub!
I know there are very few Liverpool fans on here, but if anyone is interested, I’m sure Ed will allow us to exchange mobile numbers offline, so to speak.

23rd February 2018 at 6:05 pm #16393Mak, it’s easy to be confident when it’s not your team mate. ?
But Liverpool are easily good enough to get a consecutive CL place and obviously from your viewpoint as high as possible and 2nd place isn’t out out of the question but qualifying for the CL is the main task anything else after that is a bonus.

23rd February 2018 at 6:17 pm #16397Agree with mak.
Usually after we demolish a team ie porto , we struggle to score the next game
about can. He can be top class some games but in others he looks a pub player
Nothing to add on Henderson. Injured to much and very inconsistent
really like winji. Just needs add goals bigtime
takes Hightown, actually have a ticket for Newcastle next week so heading over

23rd February 2018 at 6:50 pm #16401Nil…not to worry. Very rare I get a spare in all honesty but does happen 3 or 4 times a season, but tend to only find out late. Will bear you in mind next time
Sean enjoy the Newcastle game. Where are you sat? You’ll have to be optimistic for that one!

Seriously, how true is this! When it’s not your team there’s nothing negative going on in the back of your mind.
Sean, Can is a very frustrating player because I used to go on about what a player he’d be when we first signed him. Now I’ve given up on him but every now and then he puts in a performance that makes me feel like I’m wrong for having given up on him but the fact of the matter is that a great performance here and there is no good.
Hightown, oh to live in Liverpool. Can you imagine, as mental of a Liverpool supporter that i’ve been, I have never seen them play! Only ever saw the Liverpool Legends when they came to Cork one time. . .Β AND I FORGOT MY GLASSES!
So, I’ve still seen Barnes play live, on a very technical level ;D
