Chucky, it’s ok. It’s only every pundit (including Liverpool supporting ones), every official and fans from all clubs (including Liverpool fans) that think they were both penalties. But mak doesn’t think it was so everyone must be wrong. Mak is far more proficient in the laws of the game and is definitely right in this. There are no sour grapes or bitterness involved, it’s all completely unbiased.

4th February 2018 at 7:49 pm #14710Mak, so you can just kick someone then, Lamela put his body between defender and ball, Dick just kicks him, penalty all day, as for Kane, yes he did make the most of the contact, unfortunately that’s the modern game. I believe you always get what you deserve in football, it was a draw and one point each is what both teams deserved….Pagan

4th February 2018 at 8:09 pm #14712Had some time to digest what was just a great advert for the Neutrals – First class and a great watch in particular with my Dad who I think shook off his fever from the excitement haha 🙂 🙂
I’ve heard some calls from Liverpool supporters criticising Jurgen Klopp in not implementing more oppressive tactics, but I honestly feel a lot of credit should be given to Spurs because they absolutely dominated the second half. Sure we had our moment here and there as far as counter-attacking went, but until Salah put us 2-1 ahead, we didn’t really have any clear-cut chances.
Breaking this down:
First of all:
Refereeing:
I don’t above all have any issues. Sure the Penalty at best is a soft one, but 4 mins to hold on to a 2-1 lead given how the second half shaped, you get the feeling the equalizer was bound. My main point on this particular subject is that I’m wholeheartedly glad the Assistant was speaking up and took the courage to try and support John Moss and Kudos to him.
I don’t mind how long any so-called form of discrepancy takes as long as there is something concrete decided. VAR recently trialled to me has opened the floodgates for Match officials to be more proactive in how they deliver their officiating and work more closely to support each other. That can only be a positive step forward.
Jurgen Klopp:
I actually have more of an incline to applaud him than to criticize him. I felt the 3 in midfield he selected to start was more about steel and solidity. There was criticism as highlighted about the point of being more oppressive but I felt just for once, he placed emphasis on trying to be more defensive and protect the lead. You could tell how there were more bodies being the ball to make the necessary interceptions and tackles.
90 minutes today or 45 minutes of the second half trust me felt like a very hard slog because of the way Tottenham attacked us. I think they are the only team really as far as the PL goes to come and have a go at us in our own backyard. If there was defending in zones, then this is probably the best game I’ve observed as evidence of improvement.
More crosses were cut-out, more ariel balls won, individuals tracking back quickly and being disciplined, and players prepared to fire the ball into row Z. I had in the back of my mind prior to kick off Ox and Wijn and Klopp brought both on which meant he was on the right track when making substitutions in not upsetting the balance and bringing on like for like.
I don’t think above all, Klopp merits a high level of criticism – consider it more as playing a difficult opposing which is something I believe in. And in saying that, we were 3/4 minutes away at one point to take away all 3 points. We didn’t lost the game, so take all that into account as a positive and something if anything to build on.
Players:
Karius: First of all was much improved. I have no blame what so ever re Wanyama. It just so happens the moment Karius shows courage to punch the ball out, it fell to somebody known for his ability to hit them hard and into the back of the net. Karius too saved one of Kane’s pens and was also coming off his line to react to any danger – onwards and upwards as far as he goes.
Can: Well done him for the row Z – it’s refreshing to see and we don’t always have to try and pass or play the ball out
Trent: He’s a young player learning and developing. Couldn’t ask for more as he was first class for me today stepping into the role as a full-back facing tough opposition. Good pro and lets continue to invest in him.
Milner: Gets a lot of criticism in which I don’t understand why, but still a key component for me like a Gareth Barry who not only can read the game, but is never afraid to put a tackle in – top class pro still in my eyes.
Mane: Has been criticized of late for going a little off the boil but today, he banished this thought that he’s not a team player nor that he is not willing to pass or play with Mo Salah. No evidence of that displayed and he’s true salt. I hope he’s picked up any injury after today as he is vital to us more than ever.
Henderson: Getting back into the game from his injury. He is served at best for 60 minutes and himself inside will probably accept that – not somebody I will dismiss and is a servant and a Captain for us as far as I’m concerned.
Robertson: Important and integral as full-back. I sincerely pray he is considered as first choice ahead of Moreno as just a sound lad keeping his head down, disciplined and getting on with the job – no worries on him.
Firmino: Just wish Robbie was like a certain Robbie as a Penalty-Box-Predator. You realise why he’s liked and respected a lot by supporters and Jurgen. He really tries his best all over the pitch and contributes to support the defence.
Lovren: I looked at this in relation to Skrtel, Agger and Carragher. At the top off my head for now, I know something worked and something didn’t between these 3, like Earth Neutral and Live lol 😀 Soz, had to make a joke of that one (I like 🙂 :-)). The point being that behind Van Dijk, Lovren to me is much more of a different kettle of fish and one in which more self-assured – Hansen! 😀
Van Dijk: A big difference by god. Don’t let the 2-2 conclude your judgement. There was a lot filled by Van Dijk that otherwise just wasn’t dealt with; give the man a break and allow him to be Van Dijk!
Salah: Hope you win the Golden Boot my friend.
The only snag is losing 2 points in the space of 4 mins otherwise, I am truly loud and proud 🙂

4th February 2018 at 8:16 pm #14715Chucky and Pax – not really hung up on the contentious decision at the end so drinks on me. I just hope above all there’s consistency and something not over-thought – when it comes down to it, I just prefer it for my own sanity to be a game of Football.
You win some you lose some. I am what I am and have been purely for my desperation for that League Title since 1990 in which we’ve had almost half-a-dozen opportunities to win it, but the fact is, we haven’t done.

4th February 2018 at 8:29 pm #14719I’ve had time to digest the result too and it was a good result for Chelsea if we can get our Arsenal’s in gear and Chelsea play to their real ability, take 3 points at Watford and Conte keeps stum for a day or two!

4th February 2018 at 8:48 pm #14725There in lies my argument, but hey-ho, keep it ‘Open Plan’ and invite the ‘close-knit’ community to RUB SALT INTO OUR WOUNDS – NOT AN ONZE OF COURTESY FROM TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR. WONDER WHY? I TRULY LOVE THIS AS I AM LEARNING FROM WISDOM TRUE COLOURS AND WHO IS WHO. THANKING YOU.

4th February 2018 at 9:07 pm #14734Well this is an interesting angle …
Anyway, whatever. A draw was a fair result and Mo Salah is bloody ace. That’ll do for me. https://t.co/QQWFU5jwdh
