When is the Chelsea v Liverpool tie Lads?
Very hard place to go and win
I’m not thinking about unbeaten runs, treble talk etc. We haven’t won the league in 30 yrs ! 30 bloody years!
Get that done and anything Else is a massive bonus. The media getting totally carried away. Love Aldo but relax man. The most biased pundit I’ve ever read. Sky going totally overboard
Two horrible ties coming up
Chelsea in the fa cup and the one team I wanted to avoid in the cl A.Madrid.
Two very tough places to go so I wouldn’t be going on about trebles just yet !

5th February 2020 at 1:13 pm #67537Wise words as always Sean. Chelsea lost to Liverpool on penalties in the Super Cup and were unfortunate to see a goal ruled out for offside that would have earned a draw after a very good second half performsnce hopefully our luck might turn for this game.?
I suspect neither Club would have selected this tie out of choice.

5th February 2020 at 1:28 pm #67539The FA Cup is obviously 3rd on the priority list for Liverpool but the league is looking like there’s a slightly better than fair chance that it will be won so maybe Klopp will go for the Cup a bit more. I cannot see a team of U23s again, maybe a few that have in all honestly not let themselves down and maybe deserve another game as in William, Elliot and Jones. A lot would depend on the CL game with A. Madrid and how the tie stands. There’s a few senior players that haven’t featured a lot this season or need games that I could see playing, thus giving the main men in Ali, Mane, Salah, VvD etc a day off, whilst not lowering the standard too far.
A lot of Media are going on about record points win, or going unbeaten, but I would sacrifice both of them for more silverware. Records are transient, winners medals are not.

5th February 2020 at 1:51 pm #67540You can never tell in the FA Cup it often produces unlikely results Chelsea 4 Liverpool 2 after Chelsea were 2 goals down at ht in the FA Cup at the Bridge in 1997 for instance and this 5th Round tie may depend on which teams both Managers are prepared to select.
Liverpool struggled to beat Chelsea in both games this season so Liverpool leaving out their big hitters v Chelsea if Chelsea select a strong side would be a massive risk for Liverpool if they want to chase the treble.

5th February 2020 at 2:16 pm #67541Our hardest game of the season for me was Chelsea away and it be a very tough game
I can the likes of Adrian, lalanna, lo ten, Jones, Williams etc starting. It won’t be a full strength liveroool team but I expect it be a decent team with the bench to be very strong like Shrewsbury

5th February 2020 at 2:35 pm #67547Sean, it’s tbc on the Chelsea site on 3/3 I think it depends on who picks up the TV coverage.
I think the tie itself may depend on the strength of teams both Managers select and injuries long way away currently. Cheers 9’s
