14th January 2018 at 8:38 pm #12481It’s all about opinions, but never rated John Stones and still don’t.
Otamendi more self-assured.
On Firmino: reminded me of a blueprint moment when Robbie Fowler shrugged off Gary Neville to put Liverpool 2-1 up at Old Trafford.
Today really brought back a feeling of classic SUPER SUNDAYS when Liverpool bossed games even though with very little to show in Silverware.
P.S. Thomas and Barnes π

16th January 2018 at 5:12 am #12668AnonymousMignolet saves that first goal and how much better is Karius’s distribution? It seems worse to me, watching on TV. We weren’t solid at all towards the end of the game and who else saw it coming? I know a number of you did. So what message has really been sent out? One that we are not learning from our mistakes? Yes we were 10/10 in attack and maybe midfield too. The defence wasn’t bad, so what am I tlaking about? An overall team mentality issue. We just don’t know how ot close out games sometimes. yes it was against the best team that we’ve played in years and years, so I will excuse a lot of what ive said, especially since we’re on such a long unbeat run ourselves but there are too many draws in there for me.
That sounds awfully negative but I’ll say that we’re improving. When we’re good, we’re one of the best going. We’ve caught up on Utd who were recently 8-9 points ahead of us. Awesome and this match was an absolute thrill, I guess my overall point is that we shouldn’t get lost in such an entertaining performance and great result. There are problems that we need to address and it’s these issues that have led to us being 12 points behind City.

16th January 2018 at 8:07 am #12670Mak, a good balanced view. At one all it looked like City were taking control of the game but the high press tactics pressurised City into making the silly mistakes they did and the two goals in two minutes turned the game in Liverpool’s favour.
There won’t be many teams that concede three goals to City and win.
Liverpool always raise their game against the big teams if they can eliminate dropping silly points v the lesser teams with VVD already there and Keita on his way if they go out and sign a quality Keeper in the Summer they will be genuine title challengers next season imo. Cheers 999

16th January 2018 at 8:16 am #12671Mak, if vvd was playing and we conceded goals like that, I would be worried. Two dreadful bits of defending for cities 1st and 3rd goal. Nothing to do with systems or formation. Itβs basic defending and again itβs indivdual errors. I was no way comfortable at 4/1. If a few more mins were left, city would have probs scored
In the end, we are not being negative. We are just highlighting our flaws. Hopefully vvd makes a difference. Still, look at the way city play. They are unbelievable with the ball. They move it with ease. They are the best team in the ol by a mile bit we are excellent on our day. It was a massive win for us. It really didnβt disappoint.
Players improve under Klopp. I always said we have to be very patient. Even if we donβt get top 4, we must stick with Klopp. I really think next season, we can really push on. Keita is going to be a huge player for us
